This stainless steel water bottle is well-crafted and durable, making it perfect for my 7 and 10-year-olds to use at school. It’s also great for sports and has a generous capacity for hydration. Cleaning and refilling is a breeze, thanks to the convenient second lid that easily unscrews. I appreciate that there’s no unpleasant odor, and the first lid features a practical spout for easy drinking. My kids have dropped it many times but so far no dents and no leaks! I did deduct one star because occasionally it’s a bit tricky to unscrew one lid if the other is tightened and the paint can easily chip or scratch, but overall, the price is reasonable for such a quality product.

These cups are beautiful and sleek and hold the perfect amount of water for my toddlers. My 3 year old can easily open the lid without struggle and figured out the locking mechanism right away. They aren’t too heavy even when completely full. My 1 year old has no issue lifting and drinking from his cup. We don’t use ice so I can’t speak to the insulation, but we love that it’s stainless steel for the kiddos so it helps prevent bacteria and at a minimum keeps their water cool on a hot day. So far we haven’t had any issues with water leaking and the cups appear to be very durable.

I’ve been using mine for 2 weeks. So far, it’s love. Possibly my new go-to brand when it’s time to replace my failing one whose brand name is inspired by the mouse of a certain bamboo-eating animal.
PROS (for me):
Soft silicone spout. Very easy to sip. Spout guard/cover that has a lock option and which flips *all the way open* at the press of a button (and without flinging mouthpiece water everywhere, like a certain popular brand does). Truly leak proof. Stays cold. Easy dishwasher clean. Much lighter and more hand-sized than many others, as well, which I assume is due to slightly less insulation. I can’t imagine a car cup holder in which this wouldn’t very easily fit.
POSSIBLE CONS (for some people):
The bottom of the lid that faces the inside the bottle has deep crevices that would be nearly vimpossible to scrub with a sponge, so keep in mind if you use it drink things other than plain water and just hand wash. Takes *slightly* more pressure than expensive brand to latch the lid closed. Not certain, but I feel it doesn’t stay cold *quite* as long as popular-brand competitors, but ice still lasts several hours, even in the hot sun. I assume this is due to slightly reduced insulation layers, but that keeps it a smaller diameter and lighter weight than the popular brands.
TBD:
I’ve been using this for 2 months. So far, no issues or concerns about the handle stability and no issuesor concerns about whether the spout cover could become misaligned over time. Both still seem very perfectly snug in place, with no wiggling.

LOVE my water bottle! For something that I always carry with me throughout the house, design is extremely important. This is a perfect wide mouth bottle that keeps the ice cubes crunchy & my water nice & cold. I stay thirsty & the size is adequate enough that I don’t have to re-fill as often with the hefty 40 oz. I’m obsessed with the “ello” water bottle, and I’m not the only one. 😁
I found one at a store about a year ago and bought it on impulse because I needed a bottle like this for water. Though I must admit, I had low expectations because so many previous bottles had let me down in the past. But this one far, exceeded my expectations. My husband tried it and said that he really liked it that it was his favorite over any of the bottles he’s used and asked me to get him one. So I returned to the store and bought one for him and an extra one for me so I could have one at work and home.
Several weeks later he saw my extra one at the office and he too wanted one for the office 😆 However, upon returning to the store, I only found they were out of stock and no longer were carrying them.
Recently other family members tried it and complemented it. I think my favorite reaction was “Drinking from this is so satisfying!” 😂
It was at that point I decided they make great gifts. I returned again to the store and found they still no longer carried it. For this reason I was thrilled to find them on Amazon. It is something I will keep buying over and over for people because it’s just that good of a bottle.
Functionality: If you put cold water in it, it will stay cold for a long time as it is well insulated. The cap snaps closed and can be locked. No spilling or leaking issues. There is a straw that runs all the way down so you don’t have to tilt up, the mouthpiece is very comfortable.
Everyone I have given this bottle to loves it. It becomes their sidekick. Now they are gifting it too 😆💕
We live in Florida, constant water is a must and as long as “ello” keep this quality standard I can’t imagine buying any other brand. Good job ello! 👍

I had been looking for a water bottle that would not give off a lot of microplastics. This one fits the bill because of the materials used. All I had to do was buy stainless steel straws that fit it. The lock mechanism works well, the straw drinking mechanism works well, the colors are adorable, and the installation works very well.

Really liking this water bottle. Good large size at 40oz. Carry handle is comfortable and easy to grab. Sip mouth and straw make drinking from this at night time super easy for me. Keeps my water cool for quite a long time. Water is still even chilly by morning time. Finish looks nice so hopefully it’ll stay like that for awhile.

Excellent option to get me through a long work shift. The 32oz is a little too big to sit in my cup holder, but it’s well worth it for the volume it holds and how cold it keeps my water. I need to fill it up once or twice during my shift, but it’s a suitable size and isn’t too heavy to carry around the office. I love the straw lid, as it’s fully covered when not in use and is somewhat wider than most straws, making it easier to drink from. The lid even locks in place with the slide mechanism on the side of the lid.
It says it’s top rack dishwasher safe, but I just put the lid and straw in and hand wash to bottle, since the sage color is beautiful and I don’t want to risk it, though I’ve seen no scratches after nearly a month of use.

The lid is the key reason I chose this bottle. There is absolutely zero leakage when the cap is closed. I especially love the security features:
Fully Covered Spout: The cap completely covers the drinking spout, which is fantastic for keeping the surface clean when the bottle is in a gym bag or sitting on a desk.
Easy Locking Mechanism: The lock is effortless and fast to use (it’s super easy to engage and disengage), ensuring the cap remains locked and guarantees leak-proof security when tossed into a bag with electronics.
Portability and Size Recommendation –
The 22-ounce size is portable and fits easily into my backpack’s side pocket. I chose this smaller size specifically because I was concerned that the larger-capacity bottles would not fit in my car cup holder. While the 22oz fits perfectly, with some room to spare even (in a 2026 Corolla), I’ve found I need more water capacity throughout the day. For my next purchase, I would definitely order the larger size and would recommend others check the dimensions against their own cup holders.
Design and Durability Considerations –
I have a few points about the construction that potential buyers should be aware of:
Cap Alignment Issue: The screw mechanism inside the lid, which is crucial for preventing leaks, can be tricky. It sometimes takes a few tries to line up evenly and screw on properly. It’s a minor frustration, but worth noting for daily use.
Exterior Scuffing: While I love the sleek look, I was disappointed that the exterior finish already shows small scuff marks after less than a week of daily use. It seems the painted finish may be prone to minor wear and tear quickly.
Cold Performance, Cleaning, and Drinking Experience –
This bottle excels at keeping drinks cold all day. The water is still cold well into the evening.
Cleaning is Very Convenient: The lid is easy to fully disassemble for deep cleaning, and both the bottle and lid can be safely put into the dishwasher, which saves significant time.
A Note on the Drinking Experience: The silicone spout is comfortable, but the drinking experience is a personal preference point. It requires slightly more suction, and the rate of water flow is a little less than I am used to (in comparison to my Owala bottle, for example).

Please be aware that this specific bottle is not designed for use with hot liquids, which was disappointing to discover after my purchase.
Overall Recommendation:
The Ello Cooper is a fantastic choice if your priority is a securely leak-proof, fully covered spout design with excellent cold-temperature retention. I recommend it highly, and based on my experience, I’d suggest considering the larger size if you need more volume, even if you were initially hesitant about fit.
