I like the way this shampoo and conditioner makes my hair feel. It feels very clean, yet soft and not weighed down. However, the fragrance is VERY strong. When I first smelled it, it smelled very luxurious and I liked it. However, I did not realize how strong the fragrance would be in my hair after I rinsed it out, put product in it, and blow dried it. The fragrance is still very strong on my dried/styled hair. For most shampoos and conditioners, the smell fades away after you dry your hair, but not this one. It is honestly making me a little bit self conscious because of how strong the fragrance still is and I’m pretty sure people can smell it when I walk by them or when they are near me. I work in healthcare, and generally you are not supposed to wear any strong perfumes or fragrances due to some patients being sensitive to fragrances. I worry that when I’m meeting with patients, they can smell it and some people may not like it. Some people get headaches or migraines due to perfumes/fragrances. In the future, I think I will only use this shampoo/conditioner when I am not working. Such a bummer!

I have thick hair that gets dry and frizzy really fast, so I’m always trying new shampoos and conditioners. This set ended up working better than I expected. Both bottles feel pretty rich when you use them, not lightweight at all, and my hair seems to respond well to that. After washing, my hair feels soft and looks smoother without me having to pile on a bunch of extra products.
The scent is nice too, not strong or overwhelming. The only thing is you don’t need a lot because it can feel heavy if you use too much. Other than that, I really like it so far and my hair feels a lot more manageable.

I have been pleased with Ouai’s clarifying shampoo (cleans well without overly stripping or drying), so I decided to try this. I’m so glad I did. I have a lot of hair to manage. I don’t know what “shampoo for thick hair” does, but I like it. My hair feels clean and soft. I blow dried followed by a 400° curling iron, which normally cancels out the freshly shampooed fragrance, but not this time. A day and a half later and my hair still smells and feels great!

Throughout the years, I’ve heard that this is the best shampoo and conditioner on the planet. So despite the fact, I guess I never listened. I played the game of trying to find the best shampoo for thin hair with no body. SO I decided to try the travel sizes of the shampoo and conditioner and my hair looks like a different head of hair. It looks beautiful. Shiny healthy.. I am addicted. You don’t even need that much of the shampoo and conditioner because it’s thick and it goes a long way. I’ll never switch again.

I’ve been using this set for a few weeks now. Here’s the overview:
Smell: Not amazing. Smells like laundry detergent or dryer sheets and is really strong, especially the first time. After the first day where it was smell-able all day (I think mostly just by myself, no one else commented), I supposed my receptors got used to it and I don’t notice it overly anymore. I had MUCH higher hopes for the scent because I had been using the anti-frizz crème for a while and the scent of that is lovely. It was the reason I decided to try this set. I normally use Kerastase which always has beautiful scents, but I’m looking for a more affordable replacement.
Lather: Excellent. You don’t need a ton of product to get it all worked up and into the roots. Same with the conditioner, it’s concentrated and thick, makes it easy to work out tangles. The amount I need of both is about equal— very important!
Other thoughts: 1. My hair seems to be happy with this brand. It feels healthy and the growth is apparent. 2. The cap is tilt style. Normally this would mean capable to open with one hand, but these caps are super stiff so I have to use two. I’m worried something is going to break eventually.
Note to product designers: one-handed dispensing is invaluable with all hair and facial products!! Some of the luxury lines are the worst culprits of this oversight.
TLDR: If smell is super important, check out a trial size of this if you can first. Bottle might give you issues. Wash and hair quality is great.

I was intrigued to try this product for its good reviews, but was alarmed by both the price and some of the comments on how the stuff smelled, which is why I went with the travel size set to start. My fine hair turned out nice (not science-fiction nice, but just fine). Now on to the smell: it’s not *that* strong or persistent, but I can still smell it 4 hours after styling. In the shower I thought it smelled like flowers and death. When I thrust my hair in my husband’s face and demanded to know if it smelled ghastly, he said he detected sandalwood. Didn’t say he liked it. As an aside, why do so many high-end hair products insist on smelling just awful? Don’t even get me started on Olaplex.

I have only used it once and my hair is shinier, I’m on day 3 and my hairs not even greasy which is saying something since my hair gets greasy after 2 days. My head isn’t as dry and itchy as it usually is. Safe to say so far it’s a great shampoo and conditioner. It smells great as well!

By far, the best hair product I have ever used. I can go 2-3 days between washes using this product without my hair getting greasy or flat. Also, I have less hair fall out (I measure this by fewer hair spiders on my shower wall). It’s worth the money! And it lasts forever because a little goes a long way!

I was suggested to try OUAI because my 2c/3a hair had become packed with too much protein from the Redken Acidic Bonding line. Essentially, the cuticle of my hair was sealed to the point where it could not hold shape like it used to.
After just 3 washes with OUAI Fine, I noticed a small difference–less static, a bit more curl. I also noticed that I no longer had to shampoo twice to clean the hair, like I had to do with other brands. OUAI suds-up the first time. The products are lightweight enough for an every day cleanse, although I just shampoo every 2-3 days. I was nervous about the smell, since I’d never tried it before, but I like it a lot. It’s not overpowering, but leaves a clean scent behind. Works great after using the St. Barts scented body scrub from this brand as well. In addition, I noticed that a little goes a LONG way. I have long medium hair and I only use about a half-dollar coin size amount of shampoo and conditioner. I’ve never had a product that I could do that with until this.
I likely will not continue using Fine once my hair is back to normal (I may need to switch to Medium), but for now, this stuff is working amazingly. Cannot recommend it enough.

1st wash: I have fine hair but a lot of it! Typically I have to use a lot of product but with the shampoo it goes a long way. Made me feel more confident about the size of the product. When I rinsed the shampoo my hair already felt silky but very clean the way I remember my hair feeling when I was a kid before I started bleaching my hair. The conditioner was the same. I felt like my hair absorbed it rather than just sitting on top of my hair. It just felt smooth and clean. Not waxy and heavy. I also was paired it with the leave in conditioner/ heat protector. It was definitely easier to brush. The last step was the wave spray not complaints it was light not hairspray like. My hair is still sore drying. I will update once it’s fully air dry
Typically my air dried hair is like a lion, if there is improvement I will come back for updates!
