Meh…I feel like if you need to touch up your roots, you should just get them actually touched up. This powder is quite literally the same as a brown eye shadow or brown loose setting or finishing powder. If you’re really in a bind, just use those options. This sprays out in powder form, which makes it a bit difficult to control the direction and spread of the powder. And the powder just brushes out of the hair…Maybe if you mix it with gel it would stick? But at that point it’s a science experiment. Just go to the salon haha.

I ordered No Gray Quick 4-IN-1 Root Touch Up Powder to help cover my gray roots and help blend my roots into my dyed dark brown hair. It’s a difficult color transition to keep up with, so I appreciate products like this that help with the process. I’ve tried a few root touch up powders before but this is the first one that had a pump top. I like how effective it is to apply directly by the pump onto the roots. The one thing I noticed with the pump top is that it creates a puff of dust very close to your face, and I don’t particularly want to inhale this.
The ingredients give your roots a little bit of a texture so you can see a bit of lift in that area. It’s easy to brush through and wash off your skin where needed. The smell is fine, if of nothing at all. The product is effective in quickly addressing those roots if you have dark hair, but it does give your scalp a blurry look. This could easily blend with light brown up to the darkest brown.

Absolutely love the coverage with this product. My hair remained soft and it helped make my hair look less greasy. It’s cute too. Easily tossed it in my bag so I can style my hair at work.

No Gray Quick 4-IN-1 Root Touch Up Powder Medium to Dark Brown [Size: 0.5 oz]
My mom has dark hair but her roots are starting to turn gray so she colors her hair every month or so. I got this No Gray root touch up powder to help her hide the gray roots for the time between colorings when she really needs it. I helped apply it to her roots the first time. The pump is simple and easy to use and you just dust the root areas and blend it in. I used rubber gloves and a comb to help massage the powder into the roots and scalp. The No Gray Quick 4-IN-1 Powder did quite an excellent job disguising the gray roots and matching her dark brown hair color. Overall my mom was very happy with the blending and the final appearance. She has since been applying the No Gray powder herself and finds it pretty easy to use. Her only real serious complaint is that the powder stained her pillow the first night after she used it. I didn’t find any information in the instructions (on the box) or at No Gray’s Amazon page about how long the product stays on the hair or if it needs to be washed out after each use. In any event be very mindful that the touch up powder could stain your pillows, sheets, hats, etc.

This No Gray 4 in 1 root touch up powder is my best kept secret. I’m familiar with the powders that come in a compact but really like this pump bottle. It’s easy to use and I feel like it gives me more control of how much product I use. I like to give it a little shake before using it.
This product is like a dry shampoo + temp color in one! It looks really natural and blends in well. My hair also looked fuller with more volume and less oily. I used it on my hairline and it fills it in really nicely but did notice that it doesn’t hide some of my white hair as well. I had it on all day and it didn’t rub off.
I love that the formula is vegan, talc free, and color safe. It works pretty well and is currently on sale for $17.99 which is a good deal.

I am in love with this root touch up powder! I have dark brown hair that’s thinning in density and fine 2C/3A curls. My dark hair makes my white as a ghost scalp really pop for all the wrong reasons! This No Gray Quick 4-in-1 Root touch up powder has helped to disguise my widening part line or scalp that peeks through when I pull my hair up into a messy bun. I can simply pump a little of this powder into the thinning areas and it covers up my scalp so that it looks like I still have hair there. This is super easy to use and apply. This pump dispenser is much easier and neater than powders or aerosol type cans. This applies exactly where you want it to go with no mess. This is very convenient and effective for covering up grays, thinning areas, widening parts, or even absorbing some hair oil to give you a fresher look! Definitely recommend this for anyone that wants to hide some thinning density!

This No Gray 4-in-1 Root Touch-Up Powder is amazing. It instantly covers my grays and blends seamlessly with my hair color AND no one can tell I’ve used anything. The finish looks natural, not chalky or heavy, and it stays put all day without rubbing off.
I love how easy it is to apply, especially around my hairline and part where grays show the most. It’s perfect for quick touch-ups when you need your hair to look polished fast. The compact is also great for travel or keeping in my bag.
What really impressed me is how versatile it is; it fills in sparse areas, covers roots, and even works to define my part. If you want fast, mess-free gray coverage that actually looks real, this is a must-have. I’ll definitely be repurchasing.

This powder works so well! I love that it’s a pump and not an aerosol, it feels less messy and like you actually get more product. I bought this because I have a few baby grays, oily roots, and a slightly thinning hairline postpartum, and it seriously helps with all of that.
I got the Medium to Dark Brown shade and it blended really nicely with my dark hair. It covers grays, soaks up oil, and makes my hairline look fuller without looking obvious or heavy.
The video suggests using a brush, but I used my fingers at home since I was right by the sink to wash them off. For travel or touch-ups, I’ll definitely use a brush instead.
Overall, I’d totally recommend this to anyone who wants quick gray coverage, has oily hair, or just needs a little help filling in their hairline. Super easy and gets the job done.

I bought this for my father-in-law. As much as he like to deny his hair has been getting thinner when the product arrived. I paid him a visit and helped him apply. He was very impressed with the results and will continue using this product. Unfortunately, he was adamant that I do not take a pictures as he is having a hard time coming to terms with his thinning hair.

I received this product and two other grey root touch-up products at around the same time, so I tested all three against each other to compare. This one, like the description indicates, is a root touch-up powder. It’s basically powder in a plastic canister, and when you push down on the top, the circulating air dusts some of the powder across the roots of your hair.
It’s just okay. It does sprinkle relatively evenly on your hair, and then you leave it for a few minutes and brush it in to distribute it through your strands. It’s supposed to cling to hair and your scalp, which can help fill in some spots if your hair is looking a little thin.
The thing I really don’t like about it is that it’s relatively difficult to control, so it kind of goes wherever it wants. If you’re trying to replicate a believable hairline, good luck. I also think the color was too light for my very dark brown hair, and it looked sort of like I was wearing a fuzzy too-light toupee against the backdrop of the rest of my hair. It has a vaguely blurry photoshop look to it, that made me think people might look at me and wonder “what’s going on with her hair right there” instead of just covering the greys and blending in well. Photo attached so you can see.
The other two products I tried were a root touch-up color spray and a root covering pomade stick. I wasn’t overly impressed with either.
In the end, I ended up using a shampoo-like hair dye by this same brand, No Gray. It was fantastic, and it took me just a few minutes to put on some gloves and apply it to my hair, and then I just had to wait 15 minutes before washing it out. Easy peasy, and saved me about an hour from my regular hair dye routine. My plan going forward is going to just be to use that instead of trying to just a root touch up product and to make it look natural. If I were you, I’d buy that instead.

Very easy to use and a quick fix. Price is reasonable. It works for a few days. It’s covering the roots without using too much, but in the beginning, it took me a little bit of time to fix after a couple of times its easy for me now. Don’t rush or don’t use too much, slowly do it until you reach expected results dont rush it.
