I love quinoa so I knew before first bite I would enjoy this, but I was wrong. I LOVE, love it! The quinoa is perfectly cooked and the mango/roasted peppers topping/add-ins make this a delicious, high protein stand-alone meal or side dish. This is equally good eaten as is or heated in the microwave. I would love to see this with different flavor toppings although you sure can’t beat this one. For an easy, healthy and delicious food choice, this is a good one!

I don’t know where all these 5 star reviews are coming from. I tried both with and without the mixture it comes with, and it tasted like absolute plastic. I love quinoa but this tasted like plastic. I pray that I got a bad batch and this company actually is well, but from my first experience with them, it tasted like cooked plastic. Smell was great for the peppers and Mango. But terrible taste.

Flavor variety that is delicious.

As I hadn’t really been into quinoa, I was very skeptical as to how this would work out. I am making attempts to eat smarter and I’ve heard nothing but great things about quinoa. So my opinions on it:
Pros: Extremely portable…on the go…it doesn’t require to be warmed up or kept cool (unless you’ve opened the package). The specific flavor for me, spicy jalapeno & roasted pepper, was soooo delicious. The quinoa is soft and the sauce when mixed in just makes for a delicious combo. While the portion doesn’t look enormous, quinoa is filling between the fiber and protein content. One bowl is great and I’ve even had enough room to toss in some additional ingredients (chicken or even just some shredded cheese). So covering the most important aspects…it’s a great healthy option for those who are on the go at work or needing something to munch on as a snack. The flavor is terrific and you don’t have to feel guilty for partaking. It helps that the sauce and quinoa are both separately sealed and they even include a folding spork to help you if you’re lacking utensils.
Cons: Very little. I guess one could say the price. You get six boxes in a package which is about $3-4 a box. You probably find and make a similar quantity of quinoa with your own sauce choices for less and doing the portioning yourself. That said, you are paying for convenience….and health food convenience at that.
Ultimately, as someone who was on the fence about quinoa, this product opened the door of quinoa for me….and I’ve started using it more at home. If you’re looking for better options to begin or try at work or on the go, I’d recommend this product highly.

I guess you have to have a taste for this. I was under the impression that Quinoa is plain and very healthy, but this had an odd taste…Maybe because of the Red Quinoa not just White. I have 11 more cups to eat and I will with all my in and outside cats while I mix it in my food and theirs. It is safe and ok to feed to cats in moderation. I have to say that Quinoa itself is really good for you so I will get through this. Expected better tasting. As far as portion size….plenty for me and the cats. it can be eaten cold, room temperature or heated up. Iam sure it will all taste about the same. Fully cooked. To move on. I never return.

For quite a long time I was buying basil pesto quick cups at our local ALDI. They have since stopped selling them and I’ve searched high and low. Not sure if these are the same brand or not but they taste identical. I have been on a search to find them since and I am so happy with these!
While I will say I feel the price could be a little more reasonable, the quality is exceptional! No heating required and they come with a cute foldable spork (spoon and fork combo) that locks into place. Not only do these have enough flavor to keep my taste buds happy, they’re Gluten free! The pesto has an amazing flavor that rivals some of the more authentic fresh pestos.
The quinoa Is done to perfection. Did I say they’re super easy to make?!
As a busy soccer Mom I absolutely LOVE the convenience of these. I pack one of these and a garlic and herb tuna cup for games to keep away from filling up on junk at the concession stands and they always do the trick.
Do I recommend: ABSOLUTELY!

I have the Basil Pesto option. I think it has plenty of flavor, and I am impressed with the generous amount of basil pesto sauce. Mild but tasty flavor. Can eat hot or cold. I have had it both ways, but I like it warmed up best.
This absolutely has an expiration/best buy date. So many reviews saying that it doesnt. It is directly on the cup. On mine, it is on the side of the cup. I purchased these in Jan of 2023, and it has a date of Jan 2024.
A lot of the scathing negative reviews are about the variety box, but there is no specific details provided. Tasteless? which ones? all of them, specific ones? Anyway, so as stated y review is for just the Quinoa & Pesto. In some of my meals I chopped up some proteins (either chicken or a vegetable burger) to add bulk and additional textural interest as the quinoa is a tad bland feeling in the mouth. This would be nice tossed onto a salad. Haven’t been in the mood for salad, but I will set one aside for that. The pesto has enough oil to coat whatever it is mixed with.

I tried a couple of the different flavors. They were bitter and tasteless to me. I threw the rest of them out. I usually love quinoa.

An easy to prepare lunch or dinner. I put the quinoa in a bowl, added some leftover turkey and diced tomatoes then stirred in the pesto. There was adequate pesto to coat all ingredients. It was very tasty. This meal would also be good if there is a power outage.

Easy to eat and good quality quinoa (texture)! Quick to cook and comes with spoon. Fillings on the top add good flavor
