Loved finding an elderberry supplement that won’t break the bank, or be full of super sweetness! Having multiple people using elderberry in the winter had sent me on a search for the solutions to these issues. Every other product was used up too quickly. So glad I found this. It is a very fine powder, and I ended up storing it in a couple jars – to better preserve the quantity, and to avoid spilling the whole bag. It does not dissolve as easily as I would like. I portion it out ahead of time and mix twice. Not sure what would help this. But it works and I’ll use it as long as I can.

My husband asked me to get him some elderberry powder. I thought for sure it would taste terrible. It doesn’t! Husband said it is pretty tasteless so it is easy for him to take. And it is super nutritious for him!

If you like the flavor of black elderberry, it tastes good, mixes easily in water. But I got it because of the fruits, black elderberry has the highest amount of C3G. C3G is suppose to be good for your eyes and high enough amounts of C3G is suppose to partition nutrients. That should help with blood sugar and shuttle more nutrients into you muscle and less into your fat cells. It did make me leaner. I’m sticking with it for the way it helps the eyes. C3G as a stand alone supplement is more expensive.

This elderberry extract is of good quality! I’ve used it in some of my homemade health supplements, including my recent Antiviral/Antibiotic Immune Boost Herbal Supplement. Elderberries have many wonderful health benefits. They work to remove viruses, infections and deep congestion from the body. They’re packed with vitamin C and flavanoids, which support cellular health and immune function. Elderberries also have diaphoretic, diuretic, antiviral, antimicrobial and laxative benefits. This extract powder tastes mildly sweet and pleasant, and is super easy to encapsulate for daily supplementation!

However, I bought this exact elderberry extract powder, the same size from the same seller at the beginning of February for $27.96 and one month later is 2 times that price. That is abusive, considering the current circumstances.

I put a little bit of elderberry powder in my water bottle each day (along with some other powdered supplements). I found this elderberry powder to be very dissolvable and tastes great. Buying a “bulk” quantity is way more cost effective and it’s easy to use. Smells and tastes just fine at a fraction of the cost. I’ve had several different items from this brand and find the ingredients to be of really high quality.

I trust the brand, but I have no clue how to accurately measure the suggested dose. I tried converting it but haven’t been able to figure it out. It’s seemingly a very small amount, not ever an 8th of a teaspoon. I tried using an empty gel cap, but I still don’t know if I’m getting it right. Maybe if there was a scoop/spoon inside the bag, that would help with the guessing.

We are using elderberry to build our defenses against the corona virus as well as anything else that comes around. I cannot say whether this product does what is reported about it, but am trusting that it does. I love that this elderberry powder is pure berry, that there are no added ingredients, and that the price is about the best one can find online. As observed by others, the powder is subject to clumping when left open for long, so rather that attempting to extract the correct amount from the resealable bag, I funneled most of it into two small glass jars that are easier to open and close. So far, so good.

Updating my previous review because of the price increase. I paid $43 for 2.2 pounds in February 2020 but now the price increased to $85 in October. I can only assume that the price increased because it strengthens the immune system and many people are certainly concerned for their loved ones during the pandemic. Which is upsetting and leads you to wonder about the motives behind these Questionable ethics. But there are always ethical companies such as Mountain Rose, whose products that we can use instead to replace this as well as other herbs and natural medicinals because there are other strange price increases as well.
