    I show dogs as a hobby and frequently travel with two or more dogs. Since I am not a jerk who thinks everyone should be thrilled to have my dogs around, I try my hardest to be considerate of my fellow travelers. Some of my dogs will bark to alert me if they hear unfamiliar sounds or people walking outside, which is obviously not ideal in a hotel or airport. Others can get stressed in new or noisy environments, which basically describes all dog shows. A friend gave me this to try, and I am now on my fourth bottle.

    One squirt keeps my dogs calm and relaxed for roughly four hours. They seem to like the taste! They do not get sleepy, but they also do not feel the need to bark unless absolutely necessary for preservation of life. They can still compete in dog shows and are alert and focused. They are just very chill about things that would ordinarily cause them to react.

    I also board toy breed dogs in my home. One of my boarders is a chronic barker. Her owners and I have tried literally everything to modify her barking, including extensive training and behavioural interventions. To date, nothing has truly worked for her EXCEPT THIS. I took her to a dog show out of state with me, and the only time she barked was when it started wearing off! Otherwise she was wonderfully well behaved and actually seemed much happier, probably because she was feeling less stressed and anxious.

    Fair warning: some of my friends who tried it had dogs that did get sleepy and definitely seemed “stoned” or dopey on it. So although it has worked well for many of my dogs, it might not be for everyone.

    I really hate to give this product a negative review, but in all honesty, it did not help my 14 year old hound dog rescue at all. It came highly recommended to me from a friend, so I bought it to try. We just moved and my old girl just lost her best friend (my other dog, a 14 yr old standard poodle). She is all alone and having terrible anxiety. We are in a new home, have a new baby, and there are many, many changes going on around her that she does not seem to understand. She has always been highly anxious, due to the fact that she was a rescue, but age (and possible dementia) have her so out of control that either my husband or myself have to be with her at all times. I missed our recent Thanksgiving gathering to be at home with her, and I will miss Christmas as well. I am considering putting her down after the New Year, because she follows me from room to room at times. Otherwise she is in good health for a 14 yr old, large dog. I was so hoping that this would work. Alas, it did nothing. Nothing at all. I tried it twice. I will perhaps try it again, at a higher dosage, but it will not help enough for me to leave the house without having my husband sit with her. I am so disappointed. Benedryl works much better, but only takes the edge off. Another thing – because it is in liquid form, it makes it difficult to distribute! You have to put it in either a cup of yogurt or soft food. She did not mind the taste, but I cannot just take the droplet and throw it down her throat! Finally, I had to search the internet for other reviews to see how much to give her. I suppose 6 full droppers is the max? I’m still unclear on this! Maybe, if you have a tiny dog, than this would be a viable option for you, but for large breeds, it is unrealistic! I should send it back, but Amazon Prime gave us free shipping. So it sits unused. Hope it helps other dogs, but as for mine, it did NOTHING.

    I didn’t actually taste it, and had fun getting the cat to swallow it- he has Catzhiemers. Seemed to work, if only because he naffed off to the garden to sulk for an hour or so.

    I have bought this four times! I loved the pet calm liquid. It does not smell weird. My dog Bella loved to take it straight from the dropper. She loved the taste. She was so scared of storms and fireworks and this took the edge off. She could relax and would stop shaking and being frigid. It really helped her. I love that it is organic and all natural and she loved the taste.
    Sadly she passed away last year but I wanted to share how this had helped her for many years! I would give this 10 stars if I could!!!!

    Two things about this order: First, it was delivered to me on a Sunday! The United States Postal Service came to my door and delivered it. I was so shocked that they brought it to me on a Sunday! That was a nice surprise and a most welcome one because I was completely out of the Pet Calm. What is up with USPS delivering on a Sunday? I have no idea, but with Prime, my orders are here in no time. If you don’t have Prime, get it!! It is so worth the $99.00 per year. That is all of $8.25 per month. I have placed 37 orders so far this year. The savings is phenomenal. I love Amazon! Second, the product works. I have a young Basenji and if you don’t know about this breed then don’t get one unless you are fully capable of giving this dog a lot of your time, energy and patience. He is so active and he picks on my other dogs hoping for them to play with him. Ha, they all hate it so I have to bring him down a notch so they can be at peace. Not to mention, he gets in to everything. I mean everything too!! I walk him every evening which helps. But he is still non-stop. This product does the trick. I give him 3 droppers full in the evening if he is high strung. I try not to do it all the time, but if needed, it works like a charm. Give it about 30 mins once you administer it. I’ve seen other customers disappointed with this product. It is not a instant fix. You may also need to up the dose. It has Valerian Root in it which smells weird, but I take Valerian at night to help me sleep. I’ve gotten used to the smell. He seems to love the taste, so it is a win, win for my hyperactive pooch!     4 stars but only because Im not sure their dosage is 100% right. If I give my dog the recommended dose he turns into an absolute puddle. Half the recommended dose works fine for him. He is 10 yrs old and weighs 8 lbs. So I say go light. Once you find the right dose, this is a great product and lasts a long time in the fridge.

    I’ve been using the SynergyLabs Richard’s Organics Pet Calm on my dogs (Shih Tzu’s) for over a couple years. It was recommended by an employee at Petco to help with my dogs’ anxiety with storms and fireworks. I started buying it off Amazon because it was a much better deal. The product I receive off Amazon seems the exact same (no issues with receiving a knock-off). My dogs will shake uncontrollably, pant, cry and run around whenever there is a thunderstorm or fireworks. The worst is at night when the keep you up shaking and barking. The Pet Calm helps my dogs calm down significantly. While it is not a cure-all, my dogs still get anxiety. This is all natural so it can only do so much. I feel better giving this to my dogs than a prescription medication that knocks them out or could have negative side effects. I haven’t noticed any issues with negative side effects with this. It doesn’t seem to leave them drowsy or out of it the next day. We haven’t had any issues of this not being as effective over time. I found that paired with a Thundershirt it works better. The Thundershirt on it’s own didn’t do much for my dogs but paired with this, it helped a lot more. My dogs enjoy the taste of this. I just put their dose on a plate and they lick it off. If they are already very upset, they don’t like to eat at all but I can still get them to take this with some coaxing. I can usually just put some on my finger and they’ll like it off then finish the rest of the plate. I recommended this to my in-laws for their small dog who suffers from separation anxiety. She will destroy things in the home and doors when you leave her. They’ve also had success with it. Their dog doesn’t like the taste much but will just swallow it when put directly in her mouth. I am very glad we found this product as it helps not only our dogs but us have a more tolerable time during storms. It also helps us get some sleep. Hopefully it will help with your pet as well.

    I’ve been buying this product for the last several years, since I first took our pup on an airplane and thought it would be a good idea to give him a boost into soothing him during the flight. This seems to be a great help in calming our pup down when he’s anxious; it generally takes effect about 30 to 60 minutes after giving him a dose. Each bottle has a three=year shelf life, however, the one I just received in the mail today expires 4/2027 so it’s already 10 months into that three-year period.
