The name is Herb Salt, but the first ingredient is sugar. Really. This would be such a simple way to flavor food but they added stuff that isn’t needed. Caramel color is another unneeded ingredient that was included. No need to use this to flavor food when there are other better made products that do the job without introducing more harmful ingredients. Save your money.

I’m reviewing Lillie’s Q Garlic and Herb Herb Salt Seasoning, 6 oz.
This seasoning salt has a delightful scent and flavor, although it’s a little sweeter than I prefer. The first ingredient on the list is sugar. I would have preferred the herbs and spices without the sweetness (reflected in star rating).
It comes in a plastic jar with a shaker lid that was shrink wrapped and tamper-proof sealed. The shaker lid has holes that are the appropriate size for this herb blend.
Although I find the aroma to be wonderful, I wouldn’t purchase this again because of the sweetness. If you like your seasoning to have sweet notes, this just might be for you.
As a side note, this Lillie’s Q Herb Salt Seasoning is made in the USA.

This is a nice broadly usable seasoning mix I’ve tried with a few different roasted vegetables and even scrambled eggs. Overall I found the seasoning really tasty and something that I could use for many different applications. The ingredients are definitely more interesting and unique than your average spice mix (eg black garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce powder). The price is a little high but it does seem like a small business put a lot of effort into making this blend taste just right, so I think you get what you pay for.
My issue is not the price but the weight of the product is posted in the title as 6.0 oz, on a picture of the product as 5.1, and listed in the body of the description as 5.8 oz. I didn’t notice inconsistent descriptions until after I used it so I didn’t get a chance to weigh the product for myself.
As far as flavor, this spice mix is a little sweet, and sugar is the first ingredient listed. It also doesn’t contain black pepper, but it does list “Spices” as the third ingredient. Is this secret spice of the family recipe? Who knows, but I would like to know what’s in it. It also lists salt twice (salt and sea salt) – interesting – but the salt % is fairly low for spice mix (4% total rdv per serving).
Even though this is pretty tasty on its own, I like black pepper and add it to so many things I cook that I wish this mix had some in there as well. Despite the label and product description discrepancies, I enjoy this mix and strongly recommend it.

I love this versatile seasoning! It tastes great on meats or veggies. I haven’t really had much black garlic, but I learned about it from Bob’s Burgers (and the infamous “Stupid Black Garlic Burger”). With this seasoning, you can make your very own stupid black garlic burger! It has notes of chives and black garlic, but there are many more flavors as well. While sugar and salt are the first two ingredients, neither is overpowering. The blend is very balanced. It tastes super fresh and has a tiny hint of heat on the finish. For those with allergy concerns, please note this does contain milk, soy, and wheat.

I like this seasoning a lot. It has a good, interesting flavor. It is mildly sweet and earthly, and tastes great on meats and veggies. It contains black garlic but not too garlicky. I used it to season chicken for grilling and it was delicious. I sprinkled some on cooked veggies and it worked well too. Overall, this is a good seasoning for meats and veggies. Decently priced for a nicely sized bottle. Worth giving it a try. Good stuff.

Although this seasoning has black garlic, it’s not overly garlicky. Black garlic is a milder, sweet and earthy flavor and combined with the other herbs and seasonings in this product, it makes a very interesting blend. I used it on chicken and it’s really good. Although the ingredients list sugar, it’s negligible. Your food won’t taste sweet when you add this seasoning. I like it and if you’re looking for a new seasoning, I’d recommend you try this one.

The Lillie’s Q Herb Salt is an okay seasoning blend. We used it on chicken, and while it had good flavor to it (according to my family), I’m not the biggest fan of the ingredients. For some reason, I didn’t think to check the ingredients, as I assumed it was just an herb and salt blend. It contains wheat, which is an allergen of mine. Not a huge deal, I just used different seasoning for myself. I’m more bummed that the first ingredient is sugar, followed by salt, and then generic “spices”. It would be helpful to know what the spices are, as well as the natural flavoring ingredient, which is listed twice.

Just FYI this seasoning is not gluten free….
