Recommended by veterinarians, my 5 year old, male Guinea pig has taken once a week, to every day if prescribed by the veterinarian. Fluffy most of the time opens his month for this healthy probiotic.Great comfort to know I am doing a little more than my best for my buddy Fluffy.

I had to dial the dispenser all the way to the third gram to get anything to come out, so it appears I got 13 g instead of 15. I’d return it, but then I’d be without the benebac for my cat, who currently needs it. It was also Benebac Plus instead of original Benebac. The Plus has some “prebiotics”, which are to feed the bacteria and help them multiply/survive better. Sounds good, however, it must change the flavor some because my cat who loves regular Benebac (thinks it is a treat and runs for the bowl when he sees me pick up the dispenser) would not eat it until I smeared it on his muzzle so he had to lick it off.
Oct 2012 I tried them again, and it was fine–full tube. And the cats got used to the taste and now like it fine–just squeeze it onto a plate and they lick it up. My cat has a food allergy and he had been having slight diarrhea for a month–two doses of this and he was fine (no more soooo stinky litter box).

This probiotic has been a lifesaver for my sensitive bunny’s stomach!
One of my bunnies began overproducing cecotropes. I tried everything to resolve it from adjusting her diet and even the Oxbow Natural Science Digestive Support Supplement. Nothing worked and I was still left with frequent messes to clean up and a bunny with a dirty bum.
Since trying this product my bun is no longer struggling with digestive issues! She is able to eat veggies again without issue. The recommended dosage is 1 gram per 10 lbs of body weight. I give them both 1/4 – 1/2 a gram per day. My larger bunny is 4-5 pounds and smaller of the two is closer to 3 pounds.

This stuff lasts ages and unlike the powders marketed to go in water or on top of food you can watch the intake to make sure your pet gets the correct amount. Plus to add i have tried many version of pro biotics and this one is by far the fave in my house. They will all take this one without fuss!! Thank you benebac! I just wish the paste products were more readily available in the UK (even more so the little tubes)

Bought this listing because it’s slightly cheaper, but it doesn’t come in the original packaging, just loose in a plastic bag. Returned the first one and the second one came exactly the same way. Probiotic inside left completely exposed.

My rabbit has been on antibiotics continuously for 6 months. Probiotics are a must to keep her from having GI issues, since antibiotics do a number on the all-important intestinal flora. I had used the tiny Bene-bac tubes from a local pet store before, but for a 10-pound rabbit this 15g tube is much more convenient. She gets 1 g every other day (the amount recommended for 10 pounds), and it is easy to measure and dispense. Supposedly pets like the taste of this stuff, but my bunny hates the texture (sort of gooey and oily, like vaseline). As thick as it was, she easily just spit the whole thing back out! But mashing it with a small bit of banana and some grated apple nicely disguises the texture and taste, and she enthusiastically eats it off the plate this way. Warning: If you want to try this with your rabbit, check with your vet first, because giving sugary things like banana and apple with stomach issues might make your bunny’s situation much worse by feeding bad bacteria in the gut.
I got my first tube from my vet when I asked him if he had any probiotics on hand. Since then I’ve bought it here (from Nature’s Horse), because it is half the price and has an expiration date much further away — a year vs. two months with what my vet had. Since probiotics contain live organisms, the expiration date is important. I will always keep a tube of this on hand for stressful situations that might compromise a sensitive bunny gut!
Update Nov. 5, 2013: I now have several rabbits that are having issues with diarrhea, and with these bunnies I don’t have to mix the Bene-bac with anything. I just put the requisite amount on the back of a teaspoon and every rabbit I have licks it off eagerly!

I have a rescue sanctuary. My vet recommended bene bac 20 yrs ago for my rabbits. Rabbits, guinea pigs, possum, kittens, puppies, small and tiny whatever you got with a gut issue. Particularly after antibiotics, or gut event, post blockage , bloating etc… easy to feed very palatable.

2 meiner 4 Stallkaninchen fressen es sehr gerne direkt aus der Spritze, die anderen Beiden mögen es überhaupt nicht.
Pilznachweiß in der Kotprobe war nach 2 Wochen negativ, also ist auch die Wirkung ganz pasabel.

After adopting them, one of my kittens had diarrhea that didn’t stop for weeks. The smell and mess was horrible, and he was obviously uncomfortable. The vet thought he had worms, however the de-worming didn’t stop the diarrhea. I ordered the Benebac hoping for good results. He and his sister like the taste and eat it off of my fingers. However, that didn’t fix the diarrhea. After trying various kitten foods, it became apparent that he was corn, wheat, and lactose intolerant. I fed him boiled chicken and rice for about a week which cured the diarrhea. Both kittens are now eating Innova Cat and Kitten food which doesn’t have any of the ingredients that make him sick.
About a week ago, I moved their litter pans to another room, and the male kitten freaked out about the change. The diarrhea came back. I gave him the Benebac again, and the diarrhea was cured! So, Benebac does work as advertised, for diarrhea caused by changes that upset the animal. I ordered another 15g syringe to have on-hand the next time he has “tummy problems”. Hopefully I won’t need it.
