It says that all cats will love it but this doesn’t happen with my cats

Cats don’t like it

I’m very conscious of the things I feed my cat, having previously adopted rescues with a variety of health and emotional/behavioural issues, so I did good research on these before purchasing them. I’m very pleased with how effective they’ve been for my recently adopted cat who has significant anxiety/nervousness issues, sometimes resulting in him hiding excessively and sometimes leading him to be overly aggressive during play. These chews, which he really enjoys as much as a regular treat, seemed to take the edge off for him from the first day of using them (note that I don’t give them to him every day, just during times of noticeably greater stress). They appeared to help him feel more comfortable in coming out from under the bed – where he was hiding all day – and sitting with me instead, as well as calming him down a tad when he’s getting a little too rambunctious (resulting in accidental but nonetheless painful injury to unwitting fingers!). I feel it’s important to say they’re not designed to act as a replacement for training or actively helping behavioural issues, which should be addressed in and of themselves, but they certainly complement both in his case and made the transition to a new home that much easier.

I gave these 4 stars because they REALLY WORK, I took a star off because they are deceiving… BEWARE: READ MY STORY: I gave ONE of these to my 55 pound doberman mix who is TOTALLY CRAZY in the afternoon the day they arrived with no expectations because nothing calms her down, ever. Nothing happened. The next day, again in the afternoon, I gave her ONE again. An hour later she was drooling uncontrollably, knocking her head into walls and furniture while walking in the house, walking like she was drunk, her tongue was hanging out of the side of her mouth, she would not eat or drink water and was visibly disoriented and confused and distressed. My husband and I spent the entire rest of the day taking turns sitting with her on a blanket outside trying to put water in her mouth and just watching her breathe and sleep to make sure she was “ok”. And yes, we considered taking her to an emergency vet. We didn’t do that because we know our dog really well, we’ve seen her on the verge of death sick, injured, terrified, we know her whole spectrum from great to terrible. And we watched her every second until after midnight when she started to come out of the outrageously intense “drugged” state she was in. The next morning she was back to normal. So… how should I end this review? These things worked on a dog who has been given A LOT of natural remedies for fear, anxiety, aggression, reactivity, etc. and showed absolutely no sign of change from any of them. That means that there is an ingredient or combination of ingredients in these things that is REALLY EFFECTIVE. And she is totally fine, it was apparently just too much for her system. It could be that they become more effective if given daily seeing as there was no effect the first day and the second day with just TWO treats in her system she acted like she was on heroin for about 7 hours. I don’t think there is anything bad about these, in fact, to be honest, I’m relieved we actually found something that works on her and no, I didn’t throw them out, but no, I haven’t given her any since that day. They are sitting in her treat drawer, wrapped up tight in a ziplock bag, way in the back, ha! I will keep them on hand for emergency situations. I have also considered breaking off a TINY piece and giving it to her and then watching her closely as an experiment. Anyway that’s my story, sorry it was so long, but I know there are a lot of dog moms (and dads) out there who might not have to go through the scary situation I did if they read this first. I’m not saying don’t get these, but I am saying be careful with the dosage!! Also I checked out the company and they seem great. Good luck!

A friend of mine adopted a cat about a year or so ago. This poor kitty looked to have come from a pretty dire situation. It was a purebred cat that had obviously been used as part of a breeding mill. She was extremely frightened of nearly everyone and everything. She didn’t even know how to play with toys and would only chase her tail, a sign that she spent much of her time cooped up in a cage. (She now knows how to play with toys!) My friend, who has had a lot of experience with various cats, wasn’t even initially able to pet her. Over time she’s opened up and can be pet, but even now you have to be careful with how you pet her or she will freak out. Picking her up isn’t even an option, which makes any sort of medical or preventative care truly difficult.
Now while my friend has been helping this beautiful cat adapt to a normal, loving household, the cat still has issues with stress and anxiety. She will often over-groom, leading to scabs and bald patches in her coat. Fleas have contributed to this some, but the main issue with her has been and still is anxiety and stress. We have some calming diffusers and those have helped, but more was needed.
I got these just under a week ago and they’ve made a marked difference, particularly when paired with the Bayer II flea treatment. There’s a marked improvement in her coat and demeanor, plus she’s easier to approach. She doesn’t really even react as much when you pass by her, something that’s really nice as cats should be able to fully relax in their homes.
I can’t vouch for the taste myself, obviously, but I can say that the cat absolutely loves them. My friend has another cat that doesn’t need these, but also loves how they taste so he has to be kept away or he’ll try to figure out ways to steal her morning treat – not that she gives up these treats willingly! It’s already become a daily morning ritual that she looks forward to. I’m absolutely buying more of these, particularly since they’re so reasonably priced! I purchased some pricier ones at PetSmart that neither cat would even touch (CatMX), so it’s nice that I can get good, helpful treats at a reasonable price!

It work reasonably well to calm my dog during thunderstorms, but you have to spend about 30 to 45 mins initially with your dog to reinforce his confidence

These calming treats are amazing. I have an older (12 years old) dog who developed anxiety later in life. She was overwhelmed by visits to the vet, and fireworks/thunder did her in. These treats WORK! I love that the dosage is gauged by weight so you know how many to give your dog. They start working within 20-30 minutes. In combination with her thunder shirt my girl walks into the examination room calmly. While she’s never nippy, growling, or vicious in any way she had become defiant, with passive resistance evading the vet’s efforts to examine her. With these chews she stands calmly, and has even had x rays done, stating calm and in control. They are a true blessing!

I had to update: These are an indispensable tool for taming strays and new adoptees. I have never had a bad reaction. I’ve had over thirty cats and dogs cats come through our home, from feral, starving and obviously abused to just discarded when their humans died or moved away. These calming tabs have never caused a reaction other than better sleep and an easier transition to being loved and cared for. I am so grateful for this harmless but effective tool that helps the discarded and abused animals recover from trauma to become adoptable. Thank you Pet Naturals!
I’ve been using these regularly over a few years for all our rescues and have never had a bad reaction. The cats won’t eat the tabs for “cats” but like the ones for Dogs AND Cats. These have never failed us.
It took some time for our own cat to eat them, but now she does and I can finally sleep all night (she likes to groom me at 4 a.m.. For our rescued dogs, it really helps them adjust to new surroundings; cats, neighborhood dogs and noises, and new people.
For our latest rescue, an abused, arthritic, and abandoned (on the street and helpless) Australian Shepherd cross, it has made the transition to a loving and quiet home easy for him and his health is improving because he is not stressed or worried. He gets two every night for now. He was having horrific, violent nightmares, but without making him groggy, these tabs have enabled his recovery and now peaceful sleep. Update: nine months later this old boy is sleeping peacefully at night, al night.
Our Shelty gets them to help her adjust to the new rescues who come to us…the old boy we brought home in late December is respectful and they quickly adjusted. They have helped these two dogs with our latest (a week ago) rescue.
This new girl (pit bull and something large and sleek) has also benefited greatly from these….adjusting to being cared for and loved unconditionally after being passed around and abandoned for years. Some of our rescues are not “adoptable” and remain with us. She is one of them; a large, sweet 10 yr old with terrible separation anxiety. Fortunately I do not have to work outside my home and she will remain with us.
I tried the product made just for cats…but the cats won’t eat them. The ferals will now eat the Dog/Cat version so that they don’t have a collective stroke when I enter the room to feed them. And this Dog/Cat combo, broken up and mixed in strong smelling food, has finally allowed me to stroke them. Two of the remaining three now come up and rub against my legs. They will soon be adoptable themselves. It has taken two years to get this far, as they were not tiny kittens when their feral kitten mother finally brought them to me. They are beautiful, independent, mauve gingers (fur looks pink in muted sunlight) who would never have survived on my street! They now want to be petted by my hands as well as brushed, so will soon be in the adoption program. I could not have done this without this product. I
These tabs have been indispensable for taming feral cats….but again, the product for dogs AND cats.
These tabs benefited an insecure older rescued black German Shepherd we had until Spring 2021, adored by all the kittens and cats who have been fostered by us, before she passed from cancer. These calming chews helped her considerably as she began her decline…she felt less anxious and was loved by us all through the end.

This busy butter works wonders an calmed both my furbabies and helped them when traveling and vet visits . My micro puppy had 6 licks an sleeped for 3 hours after it . Only annoying thing is when i bought it in 31st January it was £41.50 just checked today an its 59.50 why the huge price hike is beyond me. They don’t calm her down, but she loves them! She’ll come running in and practically jump on the crate to get to them. Think she might be a little addicted!

These are great for calming my anxious little dogs on days that I may be gone longer or if storms are in the area. I always keep them on hand.

These worked SO WELL for a while. We were using them for long car rides and they did a great job….until she stopped eating them. She’s so adamant about not eating them now that we’ve put them in cheese and in peanut butter and she still manages to spit them out. We haven’t found a replacement that works as well for calming her yet though. CBD doesn’t seem to do anything. I’m hoping that we can find a good substitute.

It’s very nice product

They worked on my puppy when she was 2-4 months. It kept her calm but it was sometimes a little scary– her pupils would dilate and she’d look super doped up. She would get a little clumsy and trip over her own paws.
Fast forward to yesterday. It had been maybe a month since I had given her this. She rested in the morning, but her behavior changed as the day progressed. She barked a lot more, and a lot louder, seemingly like she was seeing something that wasn’t there. It happened all evening, and I want able to redirect her. She was also extra jumpy, getting scared a lot. She growled a lot too. Throwing the rest away!

We live a few miles away from a rock quarry. During the summer, they occasionally need to set off explosives in order to change big rocks into smaller rocks. On those days, they tend to blow up rocks about 3 times in an hour then pause for an hour then start another set of blowing up rocks. When they do this process, we can hear a low rumble at our house. Rather like thunder from a distant storm. Which, unfortunately, upsets one of our dogs. He gets anxious whenever there’s a thunderstorm or fireworks so of course the rock quarry blowing up rocks also upsets him. We’ve tried playing loud music in an attempt to drown out the sound from the quarry but that doesn’t work. We think he can feel the rumble through his feet. Anyway, we saw this product and decided to give it a try. It didn’t help. The first time we tried was just after the rock quarry folks had blown up the first set of rocks for that day. We tried giving one of these to our dog who refused the treat. (He kinda gave us a flabbergasted look, as if he was thinking “Are you kidding me? *Eat*? At a time like *this*???”) For our second attempt, one morning, about 30 minutes prior to the rock quarry folks setting off explosives, we got our pup to eat one of these. Unfortunately, it made no difference at all: he was still just as upset and anxious. We do need to mention that, in order to get him to even eat it (because he didn’t find it enticing as a treat, at *all*), we had to put a little peanut butter on it. Maybe this stuff works for other dogs. But it definitely didn’t work for ours.

Don’t know if they work
It’s a battle to get him to eat them

Parece que el saborcillo le ha gustado porque es como una chuche de perro, pero el efecto nulo total. 👎

Made my dog more hyper

My dog loved the flavor of the chews, but it just wasn’t that effective with calming her. She has anxiety and separation issues regularly, and I’ve seen many people talking about having their dogs on tranquilizers and heavy prescribed meds. I wanted try something more natural and not have her knocked out.
I have a 3 year old pit bull and she whines every time we leave her alone. She has to sleep with us every night, as well as just being overly hyper and “busy”. If she’s chilling and we get up for a second, she’s popping up as well.
So we’ve tried these chews based off previous reviews and pricing, and i will say that I’ve seen a small difference but not as much as I’ve read in reviews or what i would have liked. This could be because just like humans, every dog is different and things may have different effects in different situations. Our dog still has the same issues i initially wanted the chews for, so for us this was not effective. We’ve tried for a few days and even upped the dose (as it read it was safe to do so upon stressful situations) and our dog wasn’t calm until bedtime. I feel she sleeps better with them but it does nothing for her anxiety really. But it may work for some pets because i did see a lot of good reviews before we purchased. Just wasn’t a good fit for us i guess.
