We have two 15 year old male cats, Taylor and Alex. Someone had abandoned the two of them near our house. They look to be Maine Coons, or a mix of that bread. We took them in and have loved every day with them. They are both indoor / outdoor cats and are feed a high protein dry food daily along with a snack.
Earlier this year, in the spring, Taylor developed a limp that we started noticing and then beginning in June we began to notice that his left shoulder was protruding, a little at first, and then more noticeably. Looked kinda like it was dislocated. Initially, we thought the limp was simply due to old age and protruding shoulder was due to a physical injury from jumping down from a high place. Prior to this he was still eating as usual, somewhat picky, but still as usual. He was also drinking water, behaving and sleeping as he normally would.
So we brought Taylor to the vet in late June (hadn’t been since getting all his shots and neutered when he was a kitten). I showed the vet a video of Taylor walking towards me while in the family room, so that he could see his gait in a more natural setting than in the vets office. After he examined Taylor, the vet said he suspected it was a tumor that had wrapped itself around his shoulder. He couldn’t say with certainty until an xray was done. When the xray results came back, he confirmed what we had hoped he wouldn’t. It was a tumor. The vet said he was pretty certain it was cancerous, but would only be able to know more definitively if we did a biopsy, which of course would be an additional cost. We went through a bunch of scenarios from, if it was cancerous, what are the options for a 15 year old cat? Everything from amputation of the affected leg/shoulder to radiation and chemotherapy. We decided against any of the invasive procedures due to his age and what he might gain (perhaps a few months?) from all of that and instead opted to try and give him as much pain relief as possible (keeping in mind that up to that point, he really hadn’t changed his daily behavior). So we went home with a prescription for gabapentin drops to help ease any nerve discomfort / pain. We gave him 1 dose and it made him so drowsy he didn’t want to eat, we discontinued it’s use.
Well, I’m the type that likes to look for potential alternative solutions. So I started doing some research into any available cat supplements for cancer, knowing that there isn’t a ‘magic bullet’ out there, but rather looking for something that would give our beloved Taylor a better quality of life in his twilight years. Perhaps even slowing the progression of the disease.
I found a number of products to try, and started giving them to Taylor, mixed with his usual daily treat of Temptations Classic dry treats. We have been feeding him these supplements since late June of this year (about 4 months now), and the results are very encouraging. The tumor around his should has shown no visible signs of getting larger and seems to be just a bit smaller, though that could be our wishful thinking (it’s not, however getting noticably larger though). He walks with far less limping (perhaps around a 60-70% reduction) and he maintains his daily routine of eating and drinking regularly, going outside to walk around and lay in the sun and climbing our stairs to sleep on our bed in our 2nd story house. So lots of climbing and jumping.
Here are the nutritional supplements we give Taylor once a day:
1/4 Tsp – PureAll by Simien Pets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SQORJSS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1/4 Tsp – Omega-3 by Simien Pets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0161JI55K/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
1/8 Tsp – Immunity by Bixbi: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048ZAR5G/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
10 Drops – CoQ10 by Stay Well Pets: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSWID1Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
8 Drops – Life Gold by Pet Wellbeing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BCQR10I/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Now, I’m not a vet (nor a medical doctor) but I do have a degree in BioChemistry and some graduate work in Molecular Biology / Immunology so I can appreciate what these supplements have the potential to do for animals cells (especially those stressed by a disease like cancer). The number one key thing to remember (in addition to there being no ‘magic bullets’ out there) is that these are supplements, and not replacements so it’s important that some kind of balanced diet is maintained where possible. And while we are hopeful Taylor’s tumor is not actually cancerous (benign), we realize it is most likely cancerous (malignant) so we are trying to do everything we can using supplements to give him as many pain free/less pain, quality days as we can going forward – So far, with great results.

Update January 2018: We used Life Gold without fail, twice daily, from November 2016 until today, when one of God’s sweetest souls passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. In the end, we believe that the tumor(s) grew such that our sweet boy wasn’t able to digest anything.
The vet gave him a few months to live when he was diagnosed, and his appearance was grave that day. With Life Gold, we saw improved coat (almost immediately, the flakiness disappeared), digestion, and we feel that he was living a good quality life until just the end.
We would recommend this product.
Original Review November 2016: I want to give this product 5 stars, but I don’t have any way to accurately measure that it does what it says it does, thus, the 4-star rating.
Our 9-year-old cat presented symptoms which came on suddenly: He wasn’t eating or drinking (which resulted in quick weight loss and few/small/inconsisent bowel movements/urination) and developed flaky skin (looks like dandruff when I brush him). He’s been diagnosed with non-treatable pancreatic cancer.
Since he was otherwise acting normally and doesn’t seem to be in any pain, we’re holding off on euthanasia. I asked the vet for pain meds, in case pain sets in during off-vet hours, and we’ll make the right decision at that time. In the meantime, I was looking for wet foods which were more liquid than solid (like the ‘gravy’ packaged with wet foods) and stumbled on this product. Since it’s all natural, I gave it a try with the hope that it’ll help him remain comfortable until he’s ready to go to the Rainbow Bridge. If it happens to cure him, then that’s okay too! 🙂
We offer him a variety of wet food every few hours (I think I own every wet food ever made for cats, plus tuna in both water and oil. Since I can never be sure he’ll want to eat what/when we offer food, I can’t give Life Gold to him consistently, and our dosage is not exact per label. I’m hopeful and I think he’s getting the right dose over a 24-hour period, but it’s definitely not x-drops in the morning and x-drops in the evening.
After a week, he seems more chipper, more willing to at least sniff foods offered, if not actually eat, and more active. His bowel movements and urination aren’t “normal,” but they’re better and consistent. Prior to falling ill, he followed me most of the day, and that stopped when he quit eating. He’s now following me again, and spends most of his time at my side, mostly sleeping or watching me, and purring, like his old self. He also walks into the kitchen whenever I do, and since he associates that with food, I offer him something to eat almost every time he and I are in there together. Given that the constant small meals may be doing as much as the Life Gold, again, I have no way to measure the effects of the product.
The bottom line is that I’m NOT sorry I tried it because I DO think it’s done some good for him.

Tried this product after my dog had major surgery.
Initially I thought this would be beneficial and help with the recovery process.
My dog had 4 doses. The amounts were not to the full amount recommended. I was introducing it gently in case of any side effects.
My dog suffered from unexplained lethargy, severe unexplained panting.
The medication was stopped immediately, after 3 days she is back to her normal self and energy levels.
Please be very careful and aware of the symptoms and dangers.

I ordered a bottle of life gold two days ago and gave it to my dog few times already, but today I found out from other amazon reviews that it cannot be given with prednisone or chemotherapy. It does not say that in the item’s description and it was just a waste of money as I cannot use it for my dog.
This information should be shared in the item description so people don’t repeat same mistake as I!
Update!
After writing this review I was contacted by a pet wellbeing team offering full refund on the products I purchased without asking to return them and they explained that the product cannot be given within 24 hours chemotherapy is being administered as chemo drugs and immune supplements might cancel each other out. HOWEVER it is still safe to add it on chemo free days and also they recently tested the product with steroids and confirmed that it’s safe with those too (to make sure I also contacted my primary vet and he confirmed that ingredients used are safe with prednisone)
Shortly after that my dog had a relapse of cancer while undergoing chemotherapy treatment so I decided to give these a try. Since then my dog has gone into remission and it’s really surprising considering the fact that her oncologist kept using same drugs and same dosage and we got her into remission within a week!
Not just that, my sweet girl is acting like a puppy again, having much better quality of life since first diagnosis (6 months ago) she has excellent appetite and always ready for adventure which I thought was gone for good.
There’s no way to confirm that these supplements is exactly what worked because I changed her diet about same time but I I’m definitely going to buy them again!

My Bichon frisè is 14, and 18lbs, and has suffered from allergies since she was 10. They’ve also caused wort-like bumps on the skin recently, and she scratches them until they bleed sometimes. I wanted something natural to boost her immune system so we wouldn’t have to get the bumps surgically removed. This, along with a special mushroom blend powder has helped dramatically! In the last 2.5 months that we’ve been giving it to her, she has stopped having allergic reactions, she has stopped reverse sneezing, and the little bumps on her skin have almost all gone away! One bottle has lasted us the 3 months, so it’s a little costly to maintain, but it’s worth it. We call it “essence de jambon” at dinner time, as she doesn’t like us adding things to her food. One dose for her is 10 drops, and as soon as the bowl hits her placemat, it’s game time. She LOVES this stuff.

My story does not have a happy ending, but I wish we would have found this sooner!
Our (estimated 14yr old) Frenchton was diagnosed with a highly aggressive mast cell tumor. Due to his age, the tumor’s growth rate, and the possibility of him having multiple tumors, our vet was unable to recommend surgery or amputation. He was slowly loosing energy and his appetite. I begin giving him this 2X a day as recommended, and after a few days he started to gain his appetite back and he had more energy . After a few weeks, The tumor appeared slightly smaller which, we think, this may have helped with the inflammation. I do truly think this helped extend our boys life a few months. The vet was not expecting him to make it as long as he did. He eventually crossed the rainbow bridge, in November 2025. I hope this helps other families who may unfortunately find themselves in this position.

My 13 year old, 15 lb cat lost a lot of weight, was not eating well, and had constant diaharrea. It happened quickly, multi cat home we didn’t catch it right away. We thought he lost weight because he was suddenly jumping over gates he had NEVER jumped over. He was alert, acting fine, but he stopped grooming himself and I took him to the vet. We were thinking he had a blockage because he tries to eat every plastic bag he can get near. Xrays indicated no blockage, but there was a small mass in his abdomen. Unfortunately I can’t afford the further diagnostics, a $400 ultrasound then surgery in the thousands if it is indeed cancer. What do you do? He wasn’t eating enough, but he wasn’t dehydrated according to the vet. She said she thinks the mass is putting pressure on things to where it’s uncomfortable to have a full stomach and eat much.
I am holistically minded and found this supplement, my immediate concern was to get him eating. Which I did find some wet food he’s been eager to eat, but he only eats a little at a time. I’ve been giving this supplement for 15 days, it hasn’t hurt him, he is more eager to eat, but now he is losing his balance. Can’t jump over the gate, almost falls down the stairs, and falls off the bed sometimes. He is not tilting his head or having any abnormal eye movement to indicate vestibular disease, but I don’t know if this supplement is causing him to lose his balance or what. His stools are now very close to normal, if you account for him only eating canned food and now much, I suppose they are very close to normal, as in mostly solid with a little liquid sometimes.
I’m going to add lysine, and take him back for another exam and see what the vet thinks. I know he is older, I just want to do whatever I can to give him as many good days as possible and I’d much rather spend my money on things like this then some of the diagnostic tests when I can’t possibly afford the treatment/surgery. Love my sweet boy so much, and I will update as I continue to use this. Wish it would have given him some normalcy back, but I guess that’s not in the cards for us. He is alert, he wants to be near us, he walks all over our house, so I guess we will just be thankful for the time we have him still with us. Just so hard not knowing what is actually wrong! The vet said it did not look like he had cancer anywhere else, there’s just a small, quarter size diameter mass in his abdomen.

I started using Pet Wellbeing Life Gold for Dogs to support my senior dog’s immune system and overall vitality. The herbal formula includes ingredients like astragalus root, burdock root, and slippery elm bark, which are known for their antioxidant and detoxifying properties .
After incorporating this supplement into his daily routine, I’ve noticed a positive change in his energy levels and overall demeanor. He seems more active and alert, which is encouraging given his age.
The liquid form is easy to administer, and he doesn’t mind the taste when mixed with his food. It’s reassuring to know that the herbs are organic or ethically wild-harvested, ensuring a high-quality supplement .

I’ve been using Pet Wellbeing Life Gold for Dogs (4 oz) for a few months now, and I’m absolutely amazed by what it’s done for my pup! This veterinarian-formulated herbal supplement, packed with immune support, antioxidants, and ingredients like astragalus, has given my 10-year-old Golden Retriever a new lease on life. It’s designed to boost cellular health and detoxification, and I can see the difference—it’s like a wellness boost in a bottle. Five stars don’t even feel like enough!
Adding it to his food is super easy—just a few drops from the dropper, and he doesn’t even notice it’s there (no fuss, no fighting!). The 4 oz bottle lasts a decent while for my 70-lb dog, and I love that it’s made with natural, human-grade herbs—astragalus, milk thistle, blessed thistle, and more—all working together to support his immune system and detox processes. After about a month, I noticed he had more pep in his step, his eyes seemed brighter, and he’s been handling seasonal allergies better than ever. It’s like this supplement is quietly working behind the scenes to keep him strong and resilient.
I started using it when he was recovering from a minor illness, and it’s been a staple ever since—his vet even commented on how well he’s holding up for his age! It’s reassuring to know it’s formulated by vets and backed by a company focused on pet wellbeing. For any dog owner looking to give their furry friend an edge in health and vitality, Life Gold is a total winner!
Pros:
• Boosts energy, immunity, and overall vitality—visible results in weeks
• Easy to administer with the dropper—blends right into food
• Natural, vet-formulated ingredients like astragalus give peace of mind
• Supports detoxification and cellular health for long-term wellness
• 4 oz bottle is a good size—lasts about a month for a big dog
Cons:
• Mild herbal scent might not appeal to super picky dogs (mine didn’t care!)
• Takes a few weeks to see full benefits—patience pays off
Pet Wellbeing Life Gold for Dogs is hands-down a five-star product in my book. It’s an incredible herbal supplement that’s keeping my dog thriving—immune support, antioxidants, and all. I’d recommend it to any pet parent wanting to invest in their dog’s health and happiness!
