I bought this as I wanted something that will supplement the tooth wiping that I do at night for both of my dogs.
I have a 4 and a 7 year old and get annual cleanings. I have recently started the tooth wiping. It’s absolutely crucial to keep your pets teeth clean and thus intact. My vet told me a nightly wiping after meals and on the outside of the teeth is very important. I think this is a newer thing, as I’ve had both of these dogs from puppies and I don’t recall hearing about the wipes until recently.
I put on a glove, use a finger wipe and gently scrub the outside enamel. If your dog resists a lot, get a partner to help you by holding the dog until you can do it alone. It takes about 30 seconds a night for each dog.
I supplement with the tooth/probiotic powder.
I was using a Chinese made powder but wanted to use a USA made product.
I’ll let you know what -if any, reactions or observations I find, as this is a new dietary supplement for my dogs.

I’m a little perturbed by the negative reviews regarding the sodium hexametaphosphate ingredient. It’s clearly shown on the product photos that it’s included as an ingredient. If that’s so upsetting, then why are you not checking every detail for it before feeding it to your pet lol
Note/update: my older (7 year old) dog had a cleaning and she had a lot of tartar. After a scraping, her teeth were glistening white. I add this because no amount of brushing or probiotic will get rid of it, just a professional scraping. Recommended cleanings now that she’s older: every 6-8 months at $250 each (that’s the cost where I am). She’s in good health, has a balanced diet of meat with small amounts of dairy, also some potato and vegetables. She’s just under 25 lbs.

My two big dogs are impossible to brush their teeth so this dental powder freshens their breath and cleans their teeth right up. I’ve been using it consistently for the last 3 months and noticed a big difference in the way their breath smells. The brown hardened tarter seems to be lightening up and getting less and less. Tooth and gum health is very important to the longevity of your pup so the value is well worth it and affordable for monthly use. My dogs have gotten sick from supplements and they love this one, so I feel it’s safe for them! It’s cheaper than petlab and uses the same ingredients.
As with any supplement, just make sure to test little by little for your dog to see how they react before giving them full dosages.

I’ve been using other pet honesty products with great success, but was always worried about my cat’s teeth now that she’s ten. So I’ve added this to the other treats she gets.
