An antacid or an aspirin may soothe your pain, but it doesn’t cure the cause of your symptoms. Pain and discomfort are signs of imbalance in the body, and learning to read those cues is a key step in maintaining optimal health. Herbalist Maria Noël Groves shows you how to interpret your body’s signals and support your own wellness with herbal remedies and other natural treatments. You’ll learn how each of your major body systems optimally functions, and discover how to use natural remedies to nourish and repair problem areas, restore lost vitality, support your body as a whole, and prevent future problems.

Groves includes in-depth instructions and step-by-step photographs for making your own herbal remedies, as well as expert guidance on buying and effectively using commercial preparations.

Love this book! It’s filled with great information. However, my thoughts are it needs to be a larger sized paperback because even at 9.5×7″ the printing is still very small and a challenge to read. I feel like I need a magnifying glass! It has gorgeous
photos! But of what? I don’t know because the photos aren’t labeled. Sigh. Despite all this I’m still giving it a 5 star because it is a *great* resource.

Outstanding addition to anyone’s library. While the initial attraction to this book was the focus on using herbs to improve health, there is much more to it. Ms. Groves wants us to truly listen to our bodies and understand what is needed to feel our best. She educates the reader on how to address imbalances in our systems, but also helps us to dig deeper into the sources of the symptoms and to identify the true issues that cause them. The book also includes a thorough section on remedy making, with clear instructions on ways to use herbs in the form of teas, tinctures, oils, balms, and salves. For those interested in using herbs for body care and beauty, there are great recommendations for herbs to use in creams, lotions, and other skin care products. There are even lovely suggestions and instructions for using these healthy herbs in culinary treats such as sodas, cordials, vinegars, and bon-bons(!) that are so tasty that the health benefit is almost an afterthought. (Yes, I’ve tried those bon-bons and was quite impressed.)

This is a book that you can definitely dip into for a specific topic, but really draws you in to read through as a whole. The author has a conversational style that presents a lot of detailed information in an approachable format. I am very pleased to add this book to my collection, and would highly recommend it as a thorough resource for anyone interested in learning more about how herbs can be an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.

I love this book. I recently took up an interest in herbalism, and wanted a good book to get me started. This one takes into account the various systems of the body and which herbs can help improve their health. One of my favorite parts is the group of herbal body care recipes that are near the back of the book. As someone who has had thyroid health issues in the past, I read the thyroid section and found it to be more accurate and useful than other resources I’ve read. The book is visually very attractive with lots of color photographs of the plants, and it feels just the right size and weight in my hands. The only thing that might be considered a negative is how the book is organized. I find that most of the time I use the index to find information because where an individual herb is mentioned in the book is not obvious (they aren’t all together, but spread out throughout the chapters, depending on what system of the body the herb heals). I also like that the book doesn’t include much, if anything, about shamanism and spirituality, which you often find in herb books and sometimes I find distracting from the information I seek.

This is a beautifully written book. The way it is broken down into body systems sets it apart from so many herb books. I have learned so much and think this book should be on everybody’s shelf who is interested in herbal remedies and diving a bit deeper into the sources of our symptoms.

    The Honest Dose

I recently finished reading, and I’m so glad I took the time to go through it. Here’s my honest review after diving into this extensive yet informative book!

🔹 What I Loved About It:
✔️ Incredible wealth of information, This book is full of valuable insights on how plants and nutrition can help heal our bodies. It helped me better understand how our bodies work and how we can use food and herbs to support our health.
✔️ Helps you make better decisions, Body Balance really empowers you to take control of your health by offering practical advice on nutrition and natural remedies. It’s made me more mindful of my food choices and how they affect my body.
✔️ Easy to understand, Despite its extensive nature, the book is easy to follow and clearly explained. It breaks down complex topics into simple, digestible info, which I appreciated.
✔️ Recipes and tips, One of the best things is the recipes and actionable tips for healing common health concerns. I’ve already tried a few of the recipes, and they’re not only healthy but delicious!

    🔹 My Personal Experience:
It’s a big book, and it took me about 6 months to finish it since I had to take breaks along the way. But every time I needed an answer or had a health question, I would go back to it and find exactly what I needed. Even now, I still reference it for tips or when I need some guidance on improving my health naturally.

    🔹 Final Verdict: 8/10 ⭐️
Would I recommend it? Absolutely! It’s a life-changing resource that provides so much value, especially if you’re looking to improve your health using natural methods like plants and nutrition. It’s a bit lengthy, but it’s definitely worth it.

This is a well written, engaging herbal guide that gives the reader a good foundation for using herbs and putting the body into balance! The author is easy to understand and covers multiple topics such as detoxification, relaxation and digestion. She also has a section on specific body systems and the herbs that have an affinity towards those systems. I found this to be an invaluable resource, even though it does not claim to be exhaustive. For example Hawthorn is an herb that is known to have an affinity for the heart but it is pretty amazing to learn of all the intricate ways this one herb can help the cardiac system. Each herb also includes the various, most useful ways t prepare it and the precautions to be taken if any. The book is well worth the price just for the special herbal recipes that are included in it and expert advise on diet and longevity.
Whether you are a budding herbalist or just interested in alternatives for health, this book is a wonderful resource! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us so freely!

This is my favorite book of all time. It’s the best, most thorough and fascinating book I’ve ever read on herbs and natural healing. It just goes way above and beyond what one would expect.
If you’re experiencing any health issues, chronic pain, chronic illness, inflammation, chronic fatigue, low energy, gut problems, and other symtoms and diagnoses, this is absolutely the book for you.
If you’re a caretaker, if you feel burned out and stressed, if you’re interested in helping other people and caring for your loved ones, if you care at all about maintaining good mental, emotional and physical health for years to come, THIS IS THE BOOK.
There are great herbal tea recipes for specific health issues, clear, concise descriptions, and safety warnings on all types of herbs.
This book covers such a huge variety of health problems, including mental and physical issues, that I can’t imagine someone not being able to relate to it.
I’m totally blown away and impressed by all this thorough, carefully researched information. The beautiful pictures are helpful, showing a variety of herbs, and each page is full of helpful info, tips, advice and instructions. It feels like this book was written specifically for me and my purpose in life, to heal myself, and to help others through their life struggles.

I particularly love the sections on adaptogenic herbs. I feel like everyone and anyone could greatly benefit from these naturally calming and relaxing remedies. Adaptogens are herbs that help you deal with stress by calming your nervous system and allowing you to handle problems with a cooler head and less anxiety. Every single system in the body is explained with the specific herbs and blends that assist them effectively. I feel excitement every time I open it, because I know I’m about to learn something new and absolutely relevant. I look through, read, and highlight the pages every single day. Then I share my newfound knowledge.

“Body into Balance” is the perfect source for people to begin their journey of self-discovery, self-help, herbal teas, and DIY herbal remedies.
If everyone could read this book, I honestly think the world could be much healthier, more aware, and more empathetic than it is now. The book covers every possible health topic and offers realistic solutions for people of all ages and situations.
Maria Noel Groves did an incredible job writing this book and I commend her for her ability to connect with and help heal so many people everywhere. I personally wish to thank her for her obvious compassion, knowledge, experience, and willingness to support others. Like i said- Best health book ever.
