These are a mix between toys and musical instruments.
The copper discs produce a soft, high-pitched tone, that resonates for a few seconds, and is fairly soft in volume.
Good for recording, or as an Asian-sounding effect, similar to small cymbals heard in Chinese processions and celebrations.
They need to be struck with 50% overlap, and not directly meshed, lest the air get trapped, and you get a weird “clapping” sound, like two cupped hands clapping together.
Limited use, other than as a toy, but they produce a certain effect for recording, or traditional celebrations.
Obviously very inexpensive, so if you’re curious, get them, as see if they work for your needs.
