We have a 16 year old black lab rescue. She has developed arthritis in her spine and back legs (probably everywhere else, as she is very old.) Our vet put her on an anti-inflammatory which helps a lot, but she was still stiff very and in pain, especially after sleeping or resting. I looked through several web sites for chews that would help and were not toxic to her.

We started giving her 1 chew per day. We wanted to make sure she would tolerate them. She weighs around 70 lb. It seemed to make it easier for her to get up the deck steps. I recently upped her dose to 3 a day, divided into her 2 meals, 1 1/2 chew in each meal.

She not only loves the chews, but she feels better than on just the Rimadyl from the vet. (The vet said we could use these and they are safe with her other meds.) I am now buying our 3rd bottle of these. They aren’t cheap, but when you take an animal into your home, you make a promise to take the best care of them as possible. We made Luna a promise when we rescued her as a 3 month old little street dog.

She is more flexible and seems to have less pain. Let’s be honest, she’s 16, has chronic bladder issues as well as severe osteoarthritis (when I saw the x rays, I gasped at how bad her bones looked) and nothing is going to cure her. But, she is more comfortable, more flexible and happier. She will now often bound through the yard on a good day, do a little playing with her “nephew”, our 7 year old Catahoula (rescue) has an easier time on the outside stairs.

Our back yard does not connect to the back door. One must walk across a deck, down a flight of stairs, across another deck, through a walkway and into the yard. Before these chews, she was often refusing to even try to go up the stairs on the way in and we had bought a harness with handles to try to carry her up the stairs, but she’s too heavy for me to carry alone! It was very scary and we thought it was near the end for her. She now goes up the stairs with help and even runs on occasion when playing. I think these chews are helping her sunset years more happy.

I can’t say that these made any difference in any of my 4 dogs.
They are however, very palatable and I used them as treats til they were gone.

This product was a bust for me!! My girl would not even touch this. I’m sure it is good for someone else’s Fur Baby!!! Just not mine.

    Calming effect:
We have a very exitable male Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He is anxious when hearing new sounds, seeing new things, and of course when our female goes into heat! This product really helps with calming him down. He hardly ever barks at new things or sounds any more. I dont like using it all the time, every day, but when I take him to the vet, and when our female goes into heat, they really come in handy. He is less than 20 lbs, so I use one chew daily when needed. I usually give one-half chew in the morning, and the other half around 8:00 at night. this seems to work best for him, and keeps him calm all night long. He really enjoys the taste!

Works very well for our large 80lb 12 year old dog. It has really made a huge difference in her hip pain she is back to walks and Jeep rides! Thank you!

I was close to having to rehome my Pomeranian. She started the habit of barking and whining and scratching at the bedroom door in the middle of the night. I tried all kinds of things and probably made the behavior worse. I got these chews and Naturvet Calming spray. She readily eats a chew before bed and I spray her bed with the calming spray. [I also leave a pair of my socks nearby.] She has slept through the night for over a week since I started doing this. I am so happy we can all get some sleep!!! She also seems happier during the day. Truly amazing!!

We have these on Autoship. Work well. Senior dog seems to feel better. They just have a bad smell and make our dogs breath smell too. Only reason is gave it 4 stars.

Update 1/12/26: This miracle only lasted about 1 day. After the initial night of sleep, that was it. I think after the initial working dose wore off, he adjusted to it and it’s like it does not effect him at all anymore. While I was extremely hopeful, these do not work for my dog and the effects were very short lived.

This is a miracle in a bottle! My dog is a senior and the dementia is strong with this one – constant chewing his back or nibbling and scratching literally everywhere while barking, whining, looking at you for attention. Separation anxiety is full force. Barking all day and all night. I didn’t have a solid nights sleep until last night – THANK YOU!!

You have to be patient with this stuff – first dose did nothing. Second dose did a little. 3rd dose he slept through the night for the first time in months and so did I. FINALLY! I was at my wits end. Thank you again!

Update: Ygus company has the best customer service that I’v even seen. After seeing my review they reached out to offer me a full refund. This product is definitely worth buying. Hopefully it will work for your dog.

Did not work for my lab mix at all! I bought them to calm her down when we had guests but all it did was make her wild and super clingy after they left.

These calming chews really work. After giving my one year-old dog 2 chews within 30 to 40 minutes she’s relaxed, calm, and chilled out.

If you are shopping around for joint chews for your dog, look no further! I did heavy research before ordering these. Alot of other brands had GI side effects I did not like so I gave these a whirl.

My dashund has IVDD. He has been taking these for a year and I have to say I’m impressed. His mobility is such better and he has more energy. Worth every penny!

Our dog is a greater Swiss mountain dog and nearly ten years old. He’s experiencing dementia type of symptoms with his old age and this was the only product that helped him at night to actually settle down and sleep. It is a godsend for our sanity. He has started to have a little bit of a challenge with the taste of it so we’ve been mixing it with wet food – the chew ability is good and it is helping his health and ours. The value is high based in the outcome for us. Highly recommend giving it a try if your dog is experiencing sun setting symptoms.

Product worked amazingly for our 9 yr old English bulldog. Gave her this product for 3 months and after 1st week she no longer had a limp. However I have to give only 3 stars as to warn pet owners that dogs should not have glucosamine chonodrotin with glaucoma. Last month we found out our dog has glaucoma and this product increases pressure in the eye.

Bought these calming chews for my dog and they seem to help. He’s a little less anxious and more relaxed, especially during stressful times. Easy to give and he eats them without any trouble.

Not a miracle cure, but they do take the edge off. Would buy again.

I have a 156 pound mastiff that doesn’t really like going to the groomers for his nails. But after 4 of these he stays pretty calm and doesn’t try to eat the groomers tools and will even share his bed with the cat afterwards.

These were perfect for our girl on our cross country move she behaved so well she was 11 months old then and for a pup to be well behaved for more than a few hours that’s unheard of. She was wonderful for our 3 day trip.

Make Sure you sort the reviews by most recent, because Amazon tends to put the best reviews first on the page and hide the bad reviews! BE AWARE! THERE IS NO EXPIRATION DATE ON THE CONTAINER! I have been feeding my dogs calming chews for the last couple of years and they both love them but this is the first time buying this brand. NEITHER ONE OF MY DOGS WOULD EAT THESE! THEY ARE THAT BAD! Do not waste your money on these, because Amazon will not let you return them, they are most likely toxic for your dog because they never expire and have no expiration date, and the taste is no disgusting that your dog most likely will not even eat these. Mine wouldn’t! Save your money. There are some really good brands of these on Amazon, but this is not one of them! AVOID!

Very effective. The last few thunderstorms have been much calmer. My dog does not care about thunder after a dose. Fair warning – they do stink.

Bought these for my 75 pound dog that doesn’t like to be away from me, since I work from home. I was going on a trip, and wanted to make sure that the dogsitter could use these if needed on my dog. While packing, I read the directions and it said for his weight, to give him 4. I decided to try just 1 to take the edge off and to see what would happen. It was like my dog was in a California haze. I was able to pack and clean my house without tripping over my dog. He chilled in the living room except when I was working in the bedroom, he would walk in and lay down on his bed. This is a huge deal because he is usually right behind me at all times. He DID NOT like the taste, so I wrapped in some cheese. I won’t be giving this to him often, but I know it will be great for road trips, and any time he is nervous.

I bought these 3 times and have given them to my dog who is almost 1 year old and my mom’s dog who is about 13 years old. They definitely work, but I generally find I have to give my dog 1 more chew than suggested on the label for them to work. It definitely calms him down and when he was a baby it helped him sleep through the night without crying or having any accidents which was a god send. They also kept him much calmer during car rides and going to high stimulus places like the vet and obedience classes. My mom’s dog is a senior with achy joints and they also seemed to soothe her during times when she just couldn’t get comfortable and would be grumpy because of it.

I could tell they were not their favorite flavor. My dog would do that thing where he would kind of spit it out or set it down and look at me like, “Got anything else? No? Ok… I guess I’ll eat this…” but he DID eat them. It was the same with my mom’s dog, you can tell they weren’t her favorite but she would eventually eat them. But as soon as a bought the third jar and tried to give them to the dogs, they both would spit them out like they were the most disgusting thing on earth. They would even wrinkle up their noses like they tasted something really offensive.

They had the safety seal on them, looked perfectly normal, felt fresh, and smelled the same so I don’t think they were tampered with or went bad or anything like that. But suddenly both dogs went from “not my favorite” to refusing to eat them under any circumstances. That’s saying a lot because my dog is a billy goat and I’ve literally had to stop him from eating plastic, garbage, bottle caps, cigarette butts, a kitchen sponge, feathers, vinegar tablets, etc. If they’d rather eat vinegar and a sponge than this “treat”, it’s got to be really bad. Even when I cover them in cheese whiz, wrap them in deli meat, stuff them into other treats, etc. they will find a way to pick it out or if they can’t, they refuse to eat any part of it.

Because the change was so drastic and suddenly appeared as soon as I gave them treats from the the third jar, I think they changed them somehow. Considering how expensive calming treats are and how frustrating it can be when they don’t work or the dog refuses to eat them, it feels like a huge waste of money. Before these, I was buying a much more expensive brand that the dogs seemed to enjoy the taste of and were just as effective, so I guess I’ll go back to those. I was hoping to save a bit of money, but I ended up wasting money instead. I didn’t give it 1 star because they were good enough at one point but it is still disappointing.
