I have ordered this 2 different times. The first order was great- flavor, good mix if meat and vegetables. Second order was a huge disappointment. There was two small pieces of beef, no vegetables, and basically sauce and rice. It is very heavy on the black pepper which I typically like but it is a bit too much. May give it another try.

I love these meals. Always received fresh and are simple to prepare. All of the Amazon Fresh meals I have tried have been very good. For me, they are also the perfect size portion. The flavors are excellent, and I find them very satisfying. I believe that they are a great value for quality meals.

Who (or what?) cooks the rice for this package? The rice is not fully cooked all the way through. I can feel & hear the crunch in every bite. At first I thought it may have been sesame seeds but there’s no such seed in sight, nor does it have that distinctive flavor. This is also the 2nd time I’ve noticed this so it’s not just a one-off like I initially dismissed it. The pictures also make it seem like there’s more beef than what you get in reality. The taste & flavor are, however, good and why I’m giving the 2 stars. But I think they should not rely on timers alone when cooking rice because it isn’t like pasta and can differ markedly in cooking time & even in the amount of water required depending on many factors even within the same variety. I don’t think this unpleasant crunch would pass QA if they oniy had a human who (actually knows & likes rice) taste-tested every batch. Also, for this price, there should be at least the same or even more beef & veggies as shown in the posted stock photos.

I tried this. I thought the ‘pepper’ was a spice flavoring. I personally do not like overcooked peppers texture. The beef took on the peppers flavor. It’s a good meal, just not my taste.

Taste good, easy to prepare; just reheat and serve. Nice, savory, and pepper forward. What should be expected from a dish with BLACK PEPPER on it. So that’s great! Portion can better though! Ratio between rice and beef and veggies are not the best yet. Always a room for improvement! Will def buy again, hope this will never get discontinued.

This comes from someone who likes spicy food, likes hot sauce, likes general tso’s chicken (which I don’t find spicy) etc however I couldn’t even make it through this meal and I was so looking forward to it. I’ll agree with some of the other reviews that the portion size isn’t great it’s likely not something that will fill you but it’s a great size for a little quick meal as well as the other prepared meals from Amazon kitchen. I don’t know if the batch or container I had was just overly peppered and couldn’t be fixed but I would have liked my money back for that one. Hope this helps.

Disappointed. Bland. Rice is overcooked, very little meat, as in miniscule. Looks like beef scraps, mealy. Will not buy again. I would give it a one star, but it won’t let me.
