the most american staple food in the country is chinese takeout – i’ve had it in dozens of shops in chicago, nyc, atlanta, l.a., vegas, cleveland and even more all over the country and some of it’s been outstanding where i’ve craved it for years and some’s been bad.. real bad..
i’ve been well off and living in penthouse lofts and had times where i was eating out of cans behind waffle houses – and nothing.. and i mean nothing has assaulted my tastebuds quite like what amazon tried to pass off as food.. not even chinese but edible food.. this was disgusting.. but so expensive i tried to soldier it down cause i don’t have money to waste on throwing out food and i made it about 1/3rd into this and tossed it cause i was gagging trying to get it down it tasted so bad
thought it might have expired but it still had 3-4 days left – arrived and immediately went into the fridge without sitting outside (was cold out that morning anyway) and i ate it the next day – i had to retrace my steps because i’ve never had even spoiled food taste as bad as this did…

gross… gagging trying to get the last couple of bites down.. fragrant enough to keep me gagging till i took it to the outside trash.. the memory of this meal will haunt me till the day i die

i’ve had my basement drain in chicago clog and it overflow with sewage and mixed with my vomit and i thought that would reign supreme as the worst my senses would ever be assaulted – until this

just.. beyond disgusting.. shameful this is being sold for human consumption at ‘luxury’ meal prices..

It tastes good but a little too spicy for me. Perfect when you don’t want to cook

On the constant lookout for updated Amazon kitchen meals , I buy a few here and there as back ups to my meal prep for days when I don’t wanna cook. They’re usually well made, good portions, and filling. I saw they came out with this new recipe and warmed it up and ate it upon delivery. Honestly I’m not a fan. It’s not like gstyle chicken you get from your local Chinese spot, it’s missing a sweet flavor . Amazon was bold for coming out with it; but it wasn’t nearly as on point or tasty as their other Amazon recipes. I think they could’ve did something safer like orange or seasame chicken

Tried a few different meals. Enchiladas were by far the worst. these meals are mostly rice and small portioned for the price. Tso’s chicken is not bad but still not worth over a few bucks. Rice somehow was still partially raw and hard.

This was quite tasty! I was wary of the smell after microwaving but it ended up great!

Surprisingly good. Figured I’d try it on a whim. Not the greatest thing ever but way better than I expected to get from the same company I buy swiffer pads from.

Here is the good: they taste great, and they cook quick. They are not full of preservatives because they have a short expiration date. So purchase them with the intention of eating them in the next few days. I would recommend them for anyone who knows they are going to be busy and does not want to go out but wants some easy and good on their schedule. Planning goes a long way not to waste time, food, and money.

Not sure if this is the norm or just the batch I got, but the rice was simultaneously mushy on the outside (too much starch while cooking) yet undercooked (grains were still hard)?! The broccoli was overcooked, which for any ready meals brand I wish they would think about the fact that it’s going to be reheated and just lightly blanch the veggies so they’re not mushy and gross by the time it gets to you. Like others said mine came with a super short use by date, so be prepared to have it the same or next day. For the chicken, the sauce flavor was great! I was surprised it had a little kick too. That said the chicken was mostly breading and it was swimming in too much of the sauce. What an odd meal… it has all the pieces to be a great meal but was just weird.

some of the worst cooked rice I’ve ever eaten. I don’t even think it was fully cooked is what my mom said when I had her take a bite of it. the chicken is okay and the sauce is fine (if not a bit on the sugary side), but,, my god, as a filipino who makes rice regularly I didn’t know it was possible to mess up rice this badly. Obviously, will not be buying this again. Get the fettucine alfredo or the salmon and couscous and skip this one. You’re not missing much.

Pretty good meal. Had been sitting in the fridge for about 3 days. Took a pic after a few bites because I forgot I wanted to leave a review. But it was good. Rice could be better so I’m taking a star off. Definitely enough to get me full at least can’t speak for anyone else. We aren’t supposed to eat to feel stuffed anyways so I like the portion size. And for only $9 I think it’s worth it. Definitely gonna get it again.

This was a great alternative to cooking or ordering from a restaurant. We enjoyed the taste and convenience. The broccoli was especially deep-green tasting and fresh.

TOTAL CRAP!! The container was not full, had more air than food. Half of it was broccoli, and more than a a quarter was rice barely any chicken literally only contained 3 single tiny pieces and almost looked open despite its still sealed.
