This thing is really neat. If you blow hard on it, it sounds like a screaming girl straight from a horror movie.
Blowing with less force is kinda unimpressive though. I want to call it a wet sound. The instructions mention you can get some eerie sounds with this but I’d say only blowing hard is worth it.
The material isn’t that impressive either since I think it’s just resin or a heavy plastic, but it sells the stone look pretty well. Too bad it’s not actually stone.
If you need a novelty gift, this is a pretty interesting one.

I’ve been wanting to get one of these for quite some time, and this Aztec death whistle is no joke. The design is detailed and looks fantastic on display, but the real shock comes when you actually blow into it. The sound ranges from eerie sighs to full-on howls depending on how much air you push and how your other hand covers the other end, and it’s loud enough to turn heads instantly. The instructions are straightforward and even show how to cup your hands over the sound hole for different effects. Build quality feels solid and heavier than expected, with a ceramic finish that adds to the authentic look. Between the craftsmanship, the presentation box, and the sound it produces, this is both a unique collectible and a fun conversation starter. Definitely worth it if you want something unusual and striking.

This is genuinely gorgeously crafted, and the death whistle works great! I have a couple of death whistles, but this one blows my other ones out of the water (pun intended)
I really love the design and how it accurately pays homage to the culture the whistle came from. There’s beautiful red & gold intricacy detailing the bottom of the air port, and that was a welcome surprise! It’s a small enough size to travel with you if you’d like to show it off, but it’s still large enough to show the detail if you’d rather have it sitting on a shelf on display. It came with a velvet-like drawstring pouch to store it in, and the box was reinforced with foam to make sure it didn’t take any damage on shipment. It also came with an instructions infographic explaining how to use the whistle & how to get specific types of sounds. The price is relatively high, compared to others I’ve purchased, but the quality is there & I find it entirely worth the price.

I’ve been wanting my very own Aztec death whistle for a long time, and now I have one! And my cats absolutely hate it. And so will anyone within 100 yards of you if you really blow into it hard. Not a very pleasing sound at all, but it’s definitely spooky and haunting. Would be great for blasting over open water (like a lake) to see how far it can carry.
The whistle is oddly shaped (for a whistle, that is) and is quite robust in both build quality and weight. The workmanship and details, overall, are quite nice. It comes in a drawstring pouch and with an instruction card.
This would make a great gift for the collector of cultural curios or someone interested in Mesoamerican history.

This whistle is exactly what it claims, LOUD. Best used outdoors, it will get attention and may cause your neighbors some concern as well. The design is fun in an Aztec/Dark way, and it is also an esthetic piece that would be nicely displayed, particularly around Halloween.

According to the vendor’s video, all you need to do is blow on it. To make it effective, you cover the base, blow, and move your hand away from the base – or back and forth over the base. Yes, it is loud! It also has a high pitch that has our dog confused, so it may bother some animals.
The color on mine is obsidian, which is a rock that is usually polished for decorative items or jewelry. For this whistle, it refers to the dark black coloring.
All sides of the whistle are carved, making it very attractive. The enclosed velvet bag fits nicely. I like the history surrounding this item.

Nice concept but the execution of this item is sloppy. The item is also not black obsidian as stated. It came with a velvet bag (pictured in the video). In the video you can hear what it sounds like.

The whistle arrived quickly and works perfectly. The box comes with a set of simple instructions on how to use the whistle with different effects. The color of the whistle was off and not as the picture showed, but that is my only complaint. The whistle is durable, very loud, and functionally works perfectly. Its an interesting conversation piece and looks pretty cool on a shelf. The legend of death whistles are equally interesting so ensure you read up on it. Overall recommended.

Loud as all hell! Don’t blow it indoors and certainly not in an apartment complex unless you want to cops to show up lol.

This Aztec death whistle works really well and is very loud. The sound really does come out like a scream, so it is effective for what it is supposed to do. The material feels like ceramic and has a nice weight in the hand. I did notice some visible seams in the finish, but they were not bad enough to make me dislike it. Overall, I am happy with the craftsmanship, and it functions exactly how I wanted.
