My pup is picky. He has enjoyed all Bixby’s flavors. He won’t eat most fish dog food, but he will eat this one. The kibble is on the smaller side, which is why I ventured from this brand. But it’s hard to find good grain free dog food big kibble with wholesome ingredients. Everything has fillers (corn & wheat) or animal meal. It doesn’t smelly fishy. It’s a little more on the expensive side, but still way cheaper than prescription diets or fresh pet food.

I will preface this review with the fact that Bixbi Liberty dog food is not the problem (Amazon is). My two-year-old Corgi has been on Liberty food since we got her at 8 weeks old. Liberty Bixbi has high-quality food that my dog enjoys, keeping her happy and healthy.
The only reason I bought this particular bag from Amazon is because Chewy was delayed and we were out of food. I always buy from Chewy, with no issues.
The bag was delivered on May 22nd. The same day it is delivered, my dog pukes it up, only a couple of hours later – which is weird for her. This continues for a couple of days, every time she eats, the food comes back up. We were worried it was a blockage or a parasite, etc. However, she was acting completely normal. We take her to the Vet and $500 later, they cannot tell us what is wrong. There is no blockage, parasite, or anything else evident to causing vomiting. So, my dog gets boiled chicken and rice for a few days, per instructions. This stays down no problem, when it is time to transition back to the dog food – NO SURPRISE – IT COMES BACK UP! At first, I did not even consider the food to be the problem, since my dog just finished a whole bag of the same kind (from Chewy). The cycle continues though, of switching back to chicken/rice, then trying dog again. My dog was put on nausea medicine and Prilosec just in case and even then only this particular dog food would be vomited.
I bought another bag off Chewy as an experiment and not only is the consistency different, but the smell and look of the food.
I do not know where Amazon stores their dog food but there is a quality issue, which is a major problem. I should not have to worry about getting my dog sick when buying dog food.
So not only did this food cause a $500 bill, but another $30 on medication, $80 on the food itself (that is getting thrown out), on top of having to buy a brand new bag plus the cost of chicken/rice.
Do yourself a favor and buy from Chewy. Please.

My dogs love it. No hesitation with eating it unlike other dried dog foods which create no drive to eat it unless they are starving. Like the nutrition facts/contents. Little pricey. However, it is processed kibble. So can’t claim 5 stars.

This is the best dog food my dogs have eaten. It is on the pricier side but it is worth every penny. I have a golden doodle and a German Shepard who both have sensitive stomachs. With this food no diarrhea and they both get the nutrition they need. The smell of food is fine…. It smells like dog food but better than every other dog food brand I have bought. Size of kibble is perfect and quality is high. My dogs eat everything in their bowl. I will continue to buy this. My German Shepard is 13 years old and my golden is 5. They are in great health.

He loved the taste, but within minutes, he began shaking his head and scratching at his ears. This is his most common reaction to consuming chicken. This food is most likely produced on machines that also process foods containing chicken based ingredients.

the stuff is a bit pricey but it has no fillers, and no junk in it! I only feed 1/4 cup per day per dog, and I have 3 Jack Russell’s. It is their bedtime “snack”. They wait for it and beg if the time is nearing the usual timeframe. this behavior never happens with other dry kibbles, so they know the difference and prefer this over nearly everything else!

I can’t comment on the flavor but my dog seems to like the flavor and the texture. There wasn’t a difference in her bowel movements or activity levels when we switched brands so that’s comforting. The bag is smaller than expected though.
