Raw valerian root has a very distinct and very unappealing scent. These capsules were a great way to get around that negative for the most part. I say most part, because they do still have a faint smell of the root that really can’t be avoided.
That said, after a few weeks of use, I find that I AM falling asleep faster. It did take a while to start working, but that’s ok. I’m happy with the results.
Bulk supplements has found a way to price things fairly while still delivering the goods to consumers, and I’m happy that they do. These are a great deal if you’re looking for a bulk purchase of a product that just works.

It’s important to be able to trust the manufacturer/distributor of a supplement, and although it’s not perfect, judging by accountability, transparency and quality, I feel like I can trust Bulksupplements.com.
Accountability: BulkSupplements claims that their products are made in a NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Certified Good Manufacturing Practices facility. The NSF actually shows *three* certifictions for BulkSupplements, including the GMP certification and a certification that evaluates products for banned athletic substances. This is only the second product I’ve seen who claims certification which I’ve been able to verify, which is refreshing.
Transparency: Bulk has a broad internet presence and appears to be loved by some for providing good quality products at a low price. Competitors are a different story. In December 2023 Illuminate Labs posted an article about BulkSupplements.com failing some quality tests. Fakespot has a warning about Bulk’s web site, and gives their Amazon ratings a C+ for reliability. Per the Bulksupplements website, Certificates of Anaysis (CoA’s) are available for all their products upon request, which is also refreshing transparency. Bulk supplements is a brand of Hard Eight Nutrition LLC. They have been around for about 10 years and are based in Nevada.
Quality: These are easy to swallow capsules. I love that there is no rice filler like the Valerian I used to take. The capsules have a strong Valerian scent. They are said to be 1000 mg of extract per two capsules, but are concentrated so as to have the total equivalent of 4000 mg Valerian (If I’m understanding it correctly).
My opinion is that BulkSupplements is a well known brand with fans and a 10 year history, and this appears to me to be a good quality product despite not being perfect. While researching Valerian I did read that to experience the full effect for sleep it has to be used for about a month straight. I might give that a shot and see if it makes a difference for me.

These are a natural and perfect way to just turn the worry switch off. I take 1 about 20 minutes before. I am going to have a conversation with someone who stresses me out or 20 minutes before bed. If I’m worrying about something and it doesn’t make you feel loopy. It just turns the worry switch off.
