this is definitely the best place to start for an introduction to candle magic. i loved this book. i am so glad i bought it. the way dylan writes is easy to understand and very well explained. he sounds likes a very wise witch and i love how he makes sure we know that we should never go against another person’s freewill. that’s important to me, so the fact that he mentioned that was part of what sold this book to me. i will be buying his other books now.

It can be a very overwhelming process as we read so much information and yet still ask ourselves, “but WHERE should I begin?” Well, begin with this book. Candle magic is something that everyone has done in their lives, whether they know it or not, and this book introduces it perfectly. So for those beginner witches who want some guidance with their craft, I advise you to grab this book. Dylan’s book is clear and concise. He pays attention to detail, yet doesn’t overwhelm the reader with too much information. It’s enough to get a firm grasp on what candle magic is and how we can practice it, while also providing enough information to entice us to continue our own research on deities, herbs, crystals, etc. Overall, the book is easy to follow and has a very pleasing format and aesthetic. It should be on every beginner’s shelf as of yesterday!

This is really a great book! I purchased this book early last year but just started reading it yesterday and I finished the book overnight. I love the layout of the book and the Chapter illustrations are beautiful. The book discusses the meaning of colors, deities and how to read the flames, how to create your own blend of oils, etc. I was so proud of myself for finishing this book overnight. You’re going to want to keep reading the material. Marie Laveau is also discussed in this book also. This book is a phenomenal and easy read. What a great resource for a beginner or anyone that is advanced in the field of Candle Magic.

Just kidding. This is actually a good little, enchanting and cute, book. It’s packed with lots of concise and accurate information on candle magick. Candle magick is simple and yet a very effective form. This is witchcraft in its more simple (magick doesn’t need to be complex or complicated to be highly effective — in fact, it can be just the opposite at times) forms. Candle magick is highly effective. Especially the spells in this book. Though, one can even simplify it even further. This is pure witchcraft (or a voodoo/hoodoo energy current as a few spells on this book tap into). Personally, I’m not a fan of voodoo or hoodoo, so I shall adapt my own ideas into those ones. Every beginning magician/witch/sorcerer (etc.) should read this. It teaches the basic and necessary theories on why and how it works (theory and practice, so it’s not just a “hey, here’s some spells lolol go and do them ok roflcopter haha hehe hoho lol k buy ok lol u can b a powar ranger now ok).
Highly recommended for those new to the occult!

This books is by no means bad! It has reliable information presented in an understandable format that many beginners will benefit greatly from. Yes, I know it has “for beginners” in the title, but I found nothing really new in this book to incorporate into my own practice, which is unusual even with beginner books. The spells were good and thought provoking, but many of them also included deities, which I think perpetuates the idea that practitioners need to utilize deities of any kind in their practice.
Overall, a good starter with good references! I really appreciated that he had sources at the end including ones that would mean more to a younger generation such as creators on YouTube. The reference tables are also helpful, but again nothing you can’t find in another beginner book.
