The CRAFTERIAN Enchanted Gate Tarot is a 78-card deck based on Rider-Waite Tarot. The cards measure 4.72 inches by 2.72 inches, which is slightly smaller than the standard tarot card size of approximately 5 inches by 3 inches.
The artwork is fantasy, dark, and moody, featuring moon imagery and symbolism consistent with the Rider-Waite Tarot. The artwork is enchanting and atmospheric, and the deck has a mystical energy. I particularly love The Moon, The Star, and The Queen of Wands.
The cards are thick and glossy with beautiful holographic edge gilding in silver that shows rainbow hues when it catches the light. The cardstock is high quality. Due to the card thickness and slippery glossy finish, overhand shuffling works best rather than bridge shuffling.
If the artwork is designed with Artificial Intelligence, it is done well. My son and I looked through the cards and found no flaws. Some of the female figures have feet that are perhaps less than well-defined, but that was the only issue we could see.
The deck comes with a paperback guidebook that serves as a basic reference. It includes card meanings for all 78 cards.
I used this deck for a creativity reading during a season of healing and rest. The cards were accurate and provided clear guidance. I find the deck to be insightful and a great addition to my collection.
The box is sturdy cardboard with a glossy finish and features a lift-top lid. The box itself is beautiful and well-made. If I could change one thing about the Enchanted Gate Tarot, it would be to select a different card to feature on the box. The devil card has an ominous, unsettling image which does not reflect the deck’s overall enchanting aesthetic. It lacks the uplifting, enchanting quality that would make me want to display the box, which is unfortunate since the box is otherwise beautiful and well-made.
The price is excellent for what you receive. Overall I am very pleased to have this deck in my collection.

Its a very pretty fantasy deck thats really enchanting. But with a few caveats.
For one, theyre much too dark. Not in style but in coloring. I wish many cards were brighter. I dont recommend using these in low light. And as someone said, the box shoulda had diff art as well. Using the devil makes it seem like its gonna be goth or horror and not even close lol its kinna misleading.
Wish there were more variegated colors too. Its mostly blue blue and more blue with a few exceptions. And the little banner/title also changes color along with the card, instead of remaining consistent across them all. It seems as tho card coloring changed and that was edited too instead of remaining unretouched. A tiny irksome thing that may just be coz im a professional 2d/3d artist and asset developer and it lacks cohesion (quality things that have been grilled into me)
Its obvs AI art. There are a few people on the cards that have weird proportions (as a 3d developer, this is glaring to me lol) I haven’t noticed any really bad AI errors like extra digits or appendages. But i havent looked at it very long yet.
All in all, its a pretty deck tho, with really good stock that shuffles nice and has pretty holographic silver edging. Sturdy allbeit dark box. Comes with a book (i dont read em, tho as ive read cards most of my life, so i didnt look in it) i tend toward indie decks coz they use better materials on the whole… this one is no exception. A good add to my collection of cards.

In love with these cards! My ONLY concern is they are super glossy and I worry this may be an issue in candle light for my tarot channel. I recommend these highly. The art is beautiful. They feel perfect in my hands and they don’t stick at all. Only when you first pull them out of the box.

Very nice deck. Beautiful artwork, and gilded edges. The cardstock is thick and durable. It comes with a booklet and easy to use.

Very engaging cards in the RWS tradition. Not too bright and not too dark so you can’t see details. Easily will be one of my favorite decks to actually use, not just sit on the shelf as part of my collection.

These tarot cards have beautiful artwork and vibrant colors that really bring the imagery to life. The print quality is solid overall, with clear details that make the cards easy to read during sessions.
However, there are a few drawbacks. The cards are on the thin side, which makes them feel less durable than I’d prefer for regular use. They may not hold up as well over time with frequent shuffling. The bigger issue is that they tend to stick together quite a bit, especially right out of the box. I found myself having to separate them carefully before each shuffle, which interrupted the flow of readings.
With some breaking in, the sticking does improve, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re expecting to use them right away. If you’re drawn to the artwork and don’t mind taking time to work with them, they’re still worth considering. Just be prepared for a bit of a break-in period.
The instruction booklet gives some context to the cards, but not enough to do readings right off the bat. I’d recommend reading up elsewhere and just keep the booklet for quick reference.
Overall, though, for the price they are a good value for the money, so I’d still recommend them for beginners.

The symbolism in this deck is beautiful. I have been calling it a wet deck because even cards that do not traditionally include water feel soaked in emotion. It is also very fluent in the language of the moon, which gives the whole deck this dreamy, intuitive quality. It maps emotional mystery in a way that feels honest and gentle, and it helps you sit with feelings instead of rushing past them.
It is not all softness, though. There is necessary darkness here, and you can see that clearly in cards like The Devil and the Three of Swords. The deck does not shy away from shadow work, but it presents it in a way that feels grounded rather than overwhelming. The artwork itself leans into pastels with an impressionist touch and a slight anime feel, which creates a really unique balance between beauty and depth.
The quality is great. The card stock feels sturdy, they shuffle well, and the lining on the edges has this beautiful shimmery holographic print that catches the light in a really satisfying way. It looks and feels more expensive than it is, which makes the value even better.
This is excellent value for money. It is my second deck from this company, and I have been consistently impressed with what they offer. I am already looking forward to trying more of their decks because they clearly put care into both the art and the experience of using the cards.

This is a gorgeous deck. The artwork is rich and dreamy, and yes, the edges are pretty enough that I probably just turned them in the light for way too long. It’s a full 78-card deck and includes all the usual tarot elements, but what really stands out is the quality for the price. The cards feel nice in hand and shuffle well, and they come in a solid box with a small actual book as opposed to one of those not flimsy, folded paper guides with barely a sentence per card. The included guidebook has beginner-friendly explanations and feels thoughtfully done.
I don’t have much more to say about the tarot part of it. These are indeed tarot cards. You can use them for tarot purposes. None are missing. You can also just get them if you like the aesthetic of tarot cards even if you don’t want to use them. They’re certainly pretty enough.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, well-made deck for readings, gifting, or collecting, this is a lovely choice. The only thing I would give warning about is the devil on the box IS A bit foreboding even though this is a more dreamy set and it’s kinda jarring as the choice to represent the deck. That’s not a long term big deal as lot of people use bags of their own, but for people in households who get twitchy about symbolism, the box probably doesn’t make the best first impression. This is just something to consider for people if they get the set that they may want to transfer them out of the box.

I was offered this Enchanted Gate Tarot and the Mist of Shadows Tarot, both from Crafterian, for review. The Mist of Shadows Tarot (reviewed separately) is a much darker, more gothic deck than this one is despite the artwork on the Enchanted Gate box being a lot darker, even sinister (The Devil is darker than the one from Mist of Shadows). I took a photo of the two decks together (this one on top) so you can somewhat compare them. I’m personally drawn (at this moment) to the Mist of Shadows deck more than this one, but anyone who loves rich, vibrant colors and the whole “fantasy witchy” feel will love this deck. It is based on the RWS deck, so anyone who is familiar with the stock Rider-Waite themes and images will have no trouble working with this one.
The colors of the Enchanted Gate deck are drop-dead gorgeous. The artwork is decidedly in the fantasy/celestial realm. I haven’t worked with it enough to have intuited why so many of the figures are looking downward or have their eyes closed, especially the female figures, but my hunch is they are supposed to be looking inward as if in meditation or soul-traipsing the cosmos. Appropriately, the figure in the Seven of Cups is focused outward, on the fairy gifts; several figures in the Wands are also intently focused externally. But, on the whole, the majority of figures are in this closed-eyes state. It will be interesting to work with this deck to see what my intuition tells me about the cards over time.
As with every Crafterian deck I have collected, the edges of the cards are shiny and, when stacked together, look like a polished metal mirror. The Mist of Shadows Tarot has gold foil edges; this Enchanted Gate Tarot’s edges are silver. Crafterian’s Majestic Realm Tarot, the first tarot deck I ever acquired, has gorgeous blue foil edges. All boxed sets are stunning, and all have one serious flaw: the guidebook is bound without allowance for a binding edge, so the text is difficult to read because there is no margin at the binding. If you try to open the guidebook enough to read it like a book, the pages will fall out. My Majestic Realm box has a stack of loose pages instead of a guidebook, but I don’t want to do that to the books of the other decks. Surely this binding thing is not meant to be “a feature, not a bug”! So I knocked off a star for that and hope they’ll correct this in future printings. Otherwise, this deck would be a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection.
