(Bought 10.5 size drum, 24″ tall)
Recreational playing: The first thing you will notice is that it is HEAVY if you’re not used to lifting/hauling- I did not buy shoulder straps so lifting by handle & carrying entire body w/ one arm is how you’ll be carrying. No straps?- expect to have one free arm that day. Second notice, there are tuning DIY instructions, which I didn’t know hand drums needed! 😀 Many tutorials online or visit local music shop before playing to make sure your tuned up. Third notice, compared to every other drum in the drumcircle I was in (Eeyore’s Birthday, Austin Texas), my drum was ‘mute’. Outside of the drumcircle, “drum is drum” – loud is loud. I enjoy the drum however wish it was louder & had instructions on how to properly hit it to get certain volumes/ length+ of beat because I have bruised my hands & knuckles multiple times getting lost in the music’s ryhthm. I am also new to percussion in general so mini tutorials are always appreciated. OTC hand repair cream was needed.
(Bonus: increase in upper body strength/ thigh toning. Depending on how you play, I have seen mild toning in thigh & butt but be wary of playing for long sessions only using thighs as main grip/ not using chair- you WILL feel it in the morning so grab the ibuprofen). If you’re looking for higher quaility drum, check local music shops or get recommendations from other drummers first… you’ll have a much better BANGBEAT for your buck. <3 Hope this review helps.

I was thrilled with this drum! I am a beginner and this drum is easy to use and has a great sound, is solidly made, and is beautiful to look at. I can’t wait to use it at my next drum circle.

The quality is great, but there was only one item received, which is not as shown in the picture.

I bought a tiny djembe form eBay and wanted to get one I could wrap my legs around as well. This 24″ is really well made. Where is it made? I don’t see info in the description or on the tag included with the drum, but it says the company is located in Germany. It doesn’t really matter, but it’s interesting for me to know.
