You don’t get a plastic box. It comes in a paper box, just like most every other deck of playing cards. It arrived rather bruised and battered, and there was a huge ugly sticker on the back.

The cards are very nice. They are narrower and significantly longer than standard poker-size cards. The images on the card have a lot more detail than a typical deck of cards.

These are for playing jeu de Tarot, also known as French Tarot, or similar trick-taking card games. If you’re looking for a deck for fortune telling, look elsewhere, as these cards have no up or down, and the trumps only have numbers, no names.

The index marks for the face cards represent their French names, V, C, D, and R for Valet (Jack), Cavalier (Knight), Dame (Queen), and Roi (King). As Aces are low in French Tarot, they are marked with a 1.

They’re very beautiful cards, and much more detailed than the 52 decks I’m used to, the and the cards are exactly what I wanted but the description mentions a plastic case. Mine did not come with a plastic case, it came with a cardboard one. I bought these specifically for the case and now I’ll have to find another case to fit these dimensions.

It’s dark in here. I can’t tell what time it is and I can’t rely on my circadian rhythm to tell me when night is night. I’m so thirsty, so hungry, I bid on the garde sans. Why you ask? Only god knows. I’ve played my highest trumps this first phase. Lost. How? I miss my family. I have negative 460 points at the end of it all. What did I do wrong? I beg to the chatroom. French jeers and laughter follow. Is God in this chat room? Has he abandoned me? I play again. This card deck is high quality. Feels nice. Someone please explain to me in 5 year old, American-English terms how to play this game. I’m so alone.

There is a reason Tarot is very, very popular in France: the game is excellent.
The rules are a little complex compared to la manille or la belotte which both use a standard 52 cards deck but you can play with 3, 4 or 5 players and each variant has its own fun.
We played an hour and a half every night with my daughter when she came home for recess.
And she has started a growing group at her (US) university.

The deck I received was missing 7 cards. The deck was wrapped in plastic, so I’m not sure how that happened.

These are nice quality full sized cards. The are the standard French suits with nice Civic Art pieces on the Trump suit.

These took a while to ship to America, but it’s a great deck and I’m excited to have a set.

Not a divination tarot deck. There is a card game you can play with this deck. The trump suit has two different scenes on each card. The Fool card is like a Joker card. Aces are numbered 1. 4 face cards in each suit Page, Knight, Queen, and King. Suits are Hearts, Spades, Diamonds and Clubs like a regular deck. The one annoying thing is that the suit pips are “cut” on the corners on higher number cards and face cards. Instruction cards in French. Plaid card backs.

This is a pretty good Tarot Nouveau deck. They handle well enough out of the box, but benefit somewhat from a light application of fanning powder to make shuffling easier.

The box is not plastic as pictured, but is a standard cardboard box. It’s oversized and arrived a bit smooshed, but did its job in protecting the cards.
