Know that you are buying a very tacky product! I read reviews and was expecting a thicker lip mask but this is thick AND really sticky, like you need to put your hair up and not kiss your dogs/cats for a while kind of sticky. I’ve found a thicker layer works best and subdues tackiness slightly. I was freaked out at first, but after waking up the next morning, I can say this stuff actually works. I’m a huge lip balm addict and have tried probably hundreds of balms and masks. This one is the most unique one I’ve ever tried, and I’m actually in love with it. I’ve never had a product maintain moisture through the night and into the next day even when it’s no longer on my lips. Truly does smooth out lines and dry cracks in the lips. I was also expecting a gingerbread type of scent, however this is scented *very* lightly and more fresh ginger/citrusy. I’m glad I found this and kept an open mind with it because I think I’ve found my holy grail lip mask!

Honestly man this stuff is so thick and gloopy that it’s kind of ridiculous, but as someone cursed with chronically dry lips, I have come to be heavily reliant on this product. Admittedly, I have not used many lip sleeping masks so I’m open to the idea that there may be better out there, but out of the ones I remember trying (laneige, klavuu, and aritaum/etude) this is by far the best. Laneige was okay but klavuu did absolutely nothing for me. I think the aritaum (now etude) works so well BECAUSE of its slightly tedious texture. Whereas laneige and klavuu are thinner and more slippery, the etude stays in place and maintains a thick, cushiony barrier so long as you don’t accidentally rub it off in your sleep. The occlusivity of the product means that it works best when there’s preexisting hydration on the lips, as it functions mostly as a sealing layer. This can be achieved by applying a bit of moisturizer on the lips beforehand. Because it’s so thick, I wipe it off with a piece of paper towel which helps remove the dead skin that has already been softened and loosened by the lip mask; I’m sure a tissue would work as well but I prefer how the sturdiness and texture of the paper towel aids in exfoliation. It’s super satisfying and honestly the main selling point for me. That being said, the satisfaction that comes with exfoliation makes it easy to go overboard so be mindful and gentle. This product probably won’t eradicate your need for lip balm but it’ll at least reduce the frequency at which you need to apply it, and it also makes as great prep for lip product application. Also I swear this tub lasts for ages, and for $10 it’s quite economical as well. If you’re a fellow victim of dry lips and are looking for a semi-affordable solution, I would highly recommend giving this a go.

I can see why this lip balm is advertised as an overnight balm because oh boy, this lip balm is THICK and sits quite heavy. It doesn’t dry out fast and it’s actually quite sticky, practically glued to your lips. This is good for keeping lip skin pasted down and preventing chapped pieces from drying up in the air. It is tasteless and the ginger smell is hardly noticeable. I like to use it as an occlusive on my lips during the daytime too. Love it!

This is such a bomb lip mask and I can already tell that my lips are going to be super moisturized by the time I’m done with this. First off the delivery was super fast and it arrived at the same time as the other lip product that I got which I was happy about. When it comes to lip products I tend to lean more towards more thick lip products that stick to my lips and that’s exactly what this does. Once I swiped my finger onto the lip mask I knew right away that I was going to love this. The texture is super thick and somewhat heavy but I feel like that’s going to help with the moisturizing of my lips. I also like the smell of it, it has somewhat of a lemony smell but it’s not too much or overbearing it’s just right. For the amount of product that is in this jar and with the consistency of it I can tell that I will be having this for a while and I like that. I will definitely be purchasing other things from this company and overall I 10/10 recommend!

Yes, it is sticky and messy, but my lips have never looked or felt better, especially in the winter! If this came in a tube, it would be even more amazing!

Recently, I think they changed their formulation and it’s become menthol heavy and actually dries more than moisturizes. Lanolips is a decent alternative, but based on a beauty influencer recommendation I tried this and absolutely love it. This is a thick balm. I actually put a thin layer of Lanolips mask on at night and lock in that moisture with a coating of this mask on top. Because of the thick formula it doesn’t just evaporate or wear off, but truly offers overnight wear and repair for dry lips (I do also use it during the day before lipstick). There are hundreds of lip treatment options and I think many end up worsening dry skin or just sit on top of lips as a waxy layer (the worst) so a great one is truly rare but here it is!!!!

I have a huge stack of lip treatments as none worked all night. This one is thick and sticky. It will not budge until you take it off in the morning. Super hydrated lips. I promise this one will not dry your lips out like most overnight masks. I found that the tube version of this works so good during the day. It is shinier and not sticky but still thick. The only thing that comes close is Ole Hendrickson which is also great but very pricey.

This product is extremely sticky—so much so that it can make your lips feel almost stuck together. While I did enjoy the scent, which smells like sweet ginger and wasn’t overwhelming or irritating, the texture was very tacky to the point of being uncomfortable.
I could see this working as a nighttime lip mask if you’re able to tolerate that level of stickiness and push through it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the texture and ended up returning it.

This isn’t a lip moisturizer you carry in your pocket and apply all day. This is a dense ultra moisturizing overnight treatment. If you have dry lips or if you’re a mouth breather from sinus problems this will moisturize your lips all night and you’ll still feel it. My lipstick went on smoother too.
This product doesn’t look shiny like lipgloss, has no color, no taste and no scent. This would be good for men also. But I did end up with a pimple right next to my lip line from a clogged pore. I think this is too dense for me.

This mitigates the stickiness and transforms the etude balm into a smooth and thick lip mask that still stays put all night and hydrates! It also helps you get the product off your finger too. In the morning, I remove it by gently using my electric toothbrush when I brush my teeth, which also provides extra exfoliation and further preps my lips for lip tints/stains etc.
Before finding this amazing mask, I used vasaline every night as I have ridiculously dry lips. I was annoyed to have to reapply if I woke in the night and not have it stay put through the morning (I’m a sad mouth breather). With this lip mask, one application is all you need. My lips have been transformed!!! The balm doesn’t have a strong scent, just the slightest hint of ginger that dissapates quickly. It imparts a cooling sensation after application which is so nice.
When they are dry, they are so light in color, almost white but after using this balm regularly (night and day, goes great over a lip tint once the gloss comes off), my lips are pink, plump and smooth. I still have wrinkles on them but that’s unavoidable. This little tin will last so long so the price is so great compared to other trendy lip masks. This has become one of my holy grail products! I have another that performs the same that I really love as well but is way more expensive. This lip mask really is a steal!

This night treatment balm is THICK and STICKY. Just be aware of that if you intend to buy. With that being said, it does do the trick. I wake up to moisturized lips. Recommend.

Nice thick balm and feels like it would help hydrate the lips, but it does not. Still have dry, chapped lips every morning – simply not effective for hydration.

It stays on your lips for a long time, but sticky. If it’s windy outside and my hair is down, my hair will get stuck in it.
