I seriously love this stuff! I’m so happy a friend of mine had shared a packet with me one day- I’m hooked now.
The taste is great, and I have definitely noticed a difference in my overall concentration level and focus while using it consistently.
I wish it was cheaper!! That is my only complaint; although I know I’m getting a quality product so I can understand. It’s something I try to buy only when on sale because I’m a frugal person, but it’s worth it if you’re thinking of trying.
I use it in a normal cup of coffee (however you’d normally make yours, but add this in too!) sooo good.

I am a night owl and have always found it difficult to go to bed before 1:00 am. My best friend made me a cup of the Four Sigmatic Mushroom Hot Cacao mix when I was visiting, and I couldn’t BELIEVE how well it worked. I was skeptical when she handed me the mug, but I started yawning about 10 minutes later, and we called it a night. I had the stuff again the next two nights and, for the first time in months, fell asleep before midnight.
It has an earthy, slightly bitter flavor, hardly sweet — but it’s not unpleasant at all. I find it pretty comforting. Each packet makes enough for 100 ml/3.5 oz/6.5 Tbsp of water (or your beverage of choice). If you want a full 8 oz mug of the stuff, you’ll need to use two packets. I use one packet for a small cup, and that’s enough to start making my eyes and forehead feel heavy. It is now part of my nightly routine at home. Definitely recommended!
Update, July 2018:
The price of this item has fluctuated drastically in the past few weeks and has gone much higher than what I feel 10 packets are worth, so I decided this past week to buy reishi powder in bulk and try making my own version of this mix with cocoa powder, cinnamon, and agave nectar. I figured out the proper ratios to mimic this blend, and it works great. To save on money, I’ll be sticking with my homemade mix as my nightly drink, but I will keep a few Four Sigmatic packets on hand for when I’m traveling.

I just love all products from four sigmatic. Specifically the calm and think ones. Flavor is always on point. Tasty flavor I personally prefer to add about 2 tbps of ovaltine or regular hot chocolate to it to make it even more chocolatey and a little bit of heavy whipping cream, and with whipcream ontop. Now I want to go make some after writing this review 😆 it doesn’t make me sleepy. I’ve even had a cup during a work day when I just wanted to calm a bit during stressful times.

I had purchased this beverage a few years ago and enjoyed it and found it to be relaxing at the end of a hard day. However the small serving size made it expensive and I stopped reordering. When I saw there was more of a bulk package I decided to try ordering it again, even though it was still expensive. I thought at least I could get a decent size cup of hot chocolate if I wanted to double up. However this product is not the same as the previous product. I am very sorry to say that this product is disgusting AND not calming at all. People DO BETTER. Go back to your original product, with the option of the bulk size. It is still expensive but now much less worthwhile.

Love the product. Yes, it is overpriced. Packaging is terrible. The resealable pouch it arrives in does not seal at all. For that pricing, they could actually deliver it in the round container with a resealable lid they deceptively show in the pictures. Other than the packaging and high price, it is good product.

Here’s the trick, put it in chocolate milk. I feel sleepy from this but it can be very bitter. I use my milk steamer and put chocolate milk in and its honestly my nighttime ritual now.

Ich mag den Geschmack gerne. Es hat Kakao Komponenten, allerdings habe ich auch eine leichte Schärfe (ähnlich wie bei Ingwer) geschmeckt. Die Dosierung nehme ich hoch vor, um den Effekt zu merken und ich bilde mir ein, dass das auch funktioniert. 😉

My ABSOLUTE FAV!!!! Oh I think I may be addicted to this lovely healthy hot cocoa! Love that it is PACKED with all the healthy nutrients of mushrooms. Yet ya never taste it.I have tried other brands but my sensitive tummy reacted to each. This is the first that did not flare me up. Yes it costs more but the smoothness and consistency in the flavor is sooo worth it! Also, Yes it does make a smaller cup size, and sometimes i like that. If I’m feeling like a larger one, I simply add a bit of raw cacao powder, pinch or two of ceylon cinnamon, and top it up. It took some experimenting to get the right ratio, but well worth it. Love this cup of goodness. Truly relaxing and enjoyable. Especially if you are dairy, sugar, Gluten intolerant. I have also added a dolop of chas whipping coconut cream on occasion, but only once or twice. I really enjoy the hot cocoa flavor of this one as is!
