This has been my go-to morning brew since I gave up energy drinks. It tastes like real coffee yet it energizes without jitters and makes things clear and calm.
I was in some pretty intensive flight training with about sixty “kids” in their late teens and early twenties, so at my age (in my 50’s), I felt like I needed a boost helping retain the information that was coming at me through a fire hose. Four Sigmatic’s mushroom coffee gave me the edge I needed to stay focused, motivated and most importantly, retain the knowledge I was receiving and be able to put it into practical application. It made me feel like a had my 20-year old brain again!
For the money, it is a fantastic value, it’s easy to use, mixes quickly and has the right balance of smooth and strong coffee taste without anything artificial.
It is always in my morning routine.

I’ve heard so many “good things” about mushroom coffee, so I spent some money out of my savings for this “miracle” coffee!!
Unfortunately, I’m on day 7 and no changes to my mood, or no miracle cure for me. Just wasted money I really didn’t have to spend. I’m disappointed, I really wanted this to work. I’ll keep drinking it because I hate wasting product & money!

Buyer beware!!! This product is NOT 30-SERVINGS like what is stated on their label. It was only 23-servings. If you value your money and want a product that is true, don’t purchase this product…unless you’re ok with it.

When I got into mushroom coffee, the first brand I tried was Ryze. There was definitely an acquired taste period going from coffee to Ryze but I got used to it. I wanted to try other brands out there and chose this one next due to the ratings.
I was expecting a similar flavor profile but found this one to be sweeter and more chocolate tasting. Great if that’s what you like but I wasn’t a fan. It might’ve made an easier transition from coffee but I actually preferred a more natural taste. This tasted like it was flavored to hide and if you’re the one who orders those sweet, flavored coffees from Starbucks, this would be for you. There’s also a very slight hint of that splenda sweetener taste but I don’t see that added.
I think this has more caffeine than Ryze as well. I’ll be moving along on my mission to try other mushroom coffees.

I’ve been drinking Mushroom Coffee for over 8 years now, and have tried almost everything out there, majority being terrible products jumping on the bandwagon. There have been only a couple brands that have become my favorite, Four Sigmatic being one and Lucid Mushroom Coffee being the other. There are 4 main things I look for when shopping for mushroom coffee.
1) Taste
2) Dosage
3) Quality
4) Value
I saw this new Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee and chose to give it a try. As someone who is quite passionate about both my health and functional mushrooms, here are my thoughts…
1) TASTE:
Taste of the arabica coffee is decent. It’s very mild, but better than most others.
2) DOSAGE:
This part is extremely important, because if you’re going to incorporate functional mushrooms into your routine, you need to know how much of each mushroom you are putting in your body. From what I’ve learned, you want at least 500mg of one strain to see any benefits. Four Sigmatic only uses 2 mushrooms, Lion’s Mane and Chaga. They claim 1500mg of “adaptogens”, but the serving is only 1g of actual mushrooms. The rest is Rhodolia, Ashwagandha and Mucuna, which are herbs and those are very low doses.
3) QUALITY:
Four Sigmatic uses 100% fruiting bodies, which is the purest form of mushroom extract, so it passes here.
4) VALUE:
While the quality of the mushroom extract is good, there is a bit of smoke and mirrors in regard to the dosage of actual mushrooms which is just Lion’s Mane and Chaga. For $35, the value might not be there for me. Comparing this to my other favorite, Lucid Super Coffee, which has 2,000mg of mushrooms + 3,000mg of Nootropics (superfuel for your brain) which is around the same price, you are getting WAY more for what you’re paying for. Four sigmatic is still a decent product which will stay in my cabinet, but Lucid has won my heart at least for now. My best advice is to pay attention to the dosage and quality of mushrooms, and ALWAYS read the label!

Flavor profile could be a little more robust. Has a buttery finish like bullet coffee. I don’t mind it. Overall, good buy! I like it at the end of the day to carry me over. It’s not crazy caffeinated.

I’ve added this to my routine and do not miss my morning coffee at all. Some things to note: I did experience the graininess that others complained about when using full water. I mixed this with 2oz of unsweetened almond milk or half and half (the former being my preference) and 6oz of water with a frother, and the graininess disappeared. Perhaps that will work for you.
One thing I did notice with this is I did not add sweetener to this. That is a big deal for me because I’m watching my glucose and with coffee I found myself always adding monk fruit or stevia. I didn’t with this.
The flavor and smell is a bit on the “nutty” side and I found the flavor pleasant. I also noticed I did not get the upset stomach or indigestion I normally get with coffee from this. so that was a plus.
I personally did not notice more “focus” but that could be because the nature of my work requires me to context switch often to keep up with what’s going on. I did not find myself hitting a midday slump with it either. so all in all, it’s a good replacement for coffee for me
