This Door Country Coffee variety pack was my first time trying this coffee. While the roasts were perfect for me (medium, not weak like a light roast or burnt like a dark roast), the flavor profile wasn’t quite as good as what I expected based on the reviews. It was certainly full-bodied and rich, and the variety of flavors was interesting, but there was something about the flavors that I did not love.
On the upside, the price per cup is reasonable. Each pack makes four mugs of coffee, so ten packs make 40 cups – 50 cents per cup, a decent price.

I bought this Door County Limited Edition Sampler for my coffee-loving son. I’ve never liked coffee, yet recently started drinking it black to help “regulate” my mornings. The fresh, strong aromas, warm and distinctly autumnal, made the kitchen smell like fall in a cup so I had to try a couple of the flavors. To my surprise, both the Wisconsin Harvest and Autumn Spice blends are incredibly smooth and mild medium strength roasts, without that bitter bite that turns me off of coffee. The grind consistency was perfect for the Savepod system we use in the Keurig, and the sampler is ideal for trying seasonal flavors without committing to a full bag. I also love that this is a woman-owned, family-focused business committed to sustainability. If Door County Coffee can win over a lifelong coffee hater, they’re definitely worth a try. I am absolutely going to try the other flavors in the sample and order more flavors soon!

I bought this variety pack to try the Blackberry Shortcake and Raspberry Almond in hope of more profound fruit flavors. Oh boy, I wasn’t disappointed. I live in berry country. The locals have their blueberry and cherry blends figured out, but there is nothing around for blackberry which doesn’t taste acidic, artificial, or like cough syrup. As for the Raspberry Almond, it is a wonderful (almost a relief) juicy option without chocolate mixed in. If Door County happens upon these comments. I thank you. I love fruit flavored coffee and you’ve delivered a lovely pair. I also live North. My diet revolves around seasonal flavors, of which these are. I’ll stock up and buy them annually so long as they are offered.
What was a pleasant surprise is the S’mores, but my comments may not be an actual compliment. The flavor to me is blissfully creamy. I’m a diabetic who regards her dietary restrictions. My options are limited. Of all the products I’ve paired with my alternative sweeteners, DC’s S’mores is the closest flavor I’ve had to the taste of southern sweet cream. I imagine it is because of the marshmallow presence. That said, the chocolate and graham notes are weak to me but that works perfectly in my case. DC may be onto something here to fine tune a sweet cream. I’m reluctant to try the Door County Creme for creaminess because of the mix of vanilla and hazelnut.
The Almond Vanilla was… interesting. I didn’t like it at first, but after four sips it quickly grew on me. It reminds me of the cookie flavor in Nonni’s. The Churro wasn’t particularly special to me. Folger’s used to make a Cinnamon that was comparable. Last, the Blueberry Cobbler is probably a bursting 5/5 for those who like an added flavor to their berry. The cinnamon in it is too strong for me, but I do appreciate the blueberry part.
Over-all this product gets a 5/5 for being a sampler. I appreciate being able to save time and money trying something new before I commit to a major purchase.

Nice mix of flavors and perfect for a single pot of coffee (I make in the French Press). I have not tried every flavor, but these are generally medium to dark roast. They are a nice alternative to my usual beans. I wanted something for those days when I am in a rush and not wanting to put in the time to measure out beans and grind them myself. Of course, the grind is not what I would choose if I were taking the time to do it myself – closer to a finer grind (similar to a 25 on my burr grinder). All are fresh and well sealed.

07/28/20 – The frosted cinnamon buns coffee. It tastes just like a cinnamon roll! This is outstanding coffee in that it is true to the flavor advertised. Not bitter, just right. I will definitely buy this in a larger package. My favorite!
Edit – 07/29/20 for the hazelnut cinnamon coffee – While I am not a fan of hazelnut, this flavor is very good. It is subtle and not bitter. The hazelnut combined with cinnamon makes it palatable for me.
07/31/20 – Turtles in a Cup – A subtle flavor of the popular candy called Turtles made with pecans, caramel and chocolate. It is a smooth coffee, very nice!
08/02/20- Peanut Butter Crunch – This one has a bit more of a bite to it with a peanut butter cookie flavor if you stretch your imagination. It is ok. *edit – this one has grown on me and I would buy again.
08/03/20 – Heavenly Caramel – This has a very nice caramel flavor, not overwhelming but just right. Again the coffee is smooth and not bitter.
08/04/20 – Vanilla Crème Brûlée – Awesome aroma! The taste is divine! Very nice vanilla cream flavor that is smooth. Excellent coffee!
8/06/20 – Highlander Grog – Very nice flavor of Irish crème and caramel. Smooth and not bitter.
8/07/20 – Door County Crème – Smooth vanilla and hazelnut flavor. Again I am not a fan of hazelnut but it is a nice authentic flavor.
8/08/20 – Jamaican Me Crazy – I really enjoyed this coffee flavor of rum and vanilla. Not overpowering as usual and it is smooth not bitter.
