Great value for money! The quality is excellent. There is a variety of pieces in the bag, many are large and others are small. When you first open the bag the scent is very similar to frankincense. It’s the same sweet resinous smell that you would get with frankincense resin. When burned on a tea light resin burner the copal is once again very much like a frankincense aroma. When burned on charcoal the smell does change a little, but it’s still ok. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. This will last me ages! I live in UK and this was shipped from USA in about 1 week, so a very quick and reliable delivery can be expected

I like Govinda resins. This is a nice scent.A little licorice like or gamier compared to the sweeter White Copal The price is great for the quantity and quality. I use a tea light and heavy duty foil and the resin burns for quite a while…syrupy. I quit using charcoal pucks as the emit too much smoke and don’t keep.

Good quality, fast dilivery.

This is so horrible I hardly believe this is a synthetic product it smell like burned plastic nothing compare to a real copal this is the worst product ever. Don’t waste your money with this crap

I am loving the copal. It smells good, and the amount for the price is a great deal. Looking forward to trying the other varieties from this seller.

Buena calidad

Love this! It burns nice and steady, consistent scent, the only think I say is to have the chunks a little smaller. Other than that it really is a solid Copal resin incense. It’s part of my everyday morning practice.

I’ve been using copal from India and Indonesia quite a lot. This bag of Mayan copal is great stuff. I put a spoonful into an electric incense burner or candle warmer and it pervades my home with an uplifting scent and aura for many hours. Burning the copal on a charcoal disc produces a rather different scent, but still lovely. The Mayan copal, unlike Middle Eastern frankincense, does liquefy, so remember to line the bottom of the burner with tin foil. This Mayan copal is easily one of my favorites.

I give this copal 4 stars not because like the other reviews I received mostly gold copal and not very much black; I know the black copal is more rare than the white or gold, but because 1/4-1/3 of the bag was powder and not resin…. Plus there was chunks of wood/bark in there with it and the description specifically says no wood, bark, or filler to get in the way of the scent. Overall I very happy with my purchase, the powder will burn all the same. And if you are new to resin incense like myself please note that gold and black copal smell different than the white copal, while I have only had white copal originating from Indonesia (if I’m not mistaken) to me the white is alot cleaner smelling, clean fresh and soapy is how I’d describe it, the gold and black is no where near intense and more musky. While doing research I read that Mayan copal is sweet smelling; to me nothing about the gold and black copal was sweet smelling.

My only experience is with incense sticks. I love the scent of copal so I bought this bag. I couldn’t light it with a candle lighter, so I bought a burner, then I bought the charcoal disks. Had a party and lit the charcoal in the burner and dropped in a chunk of this copal. It created a heavy chocking smoke, but no scent whatever.

Everywhere I went in Tulum there was this magnificent smell that I grew to love. I wanted to bring that scent home with me but couldn’t find it. Well here it is!… smells just like Mexico and the bag is huge. I’ve had it for a year and am not even half way. Great product and value!

this is a much more golden copal than black, but there are some darker amber pieces. some of the pieces are pretty good sized, and there’s barely any dust in the bag. (not that i mind dust, it burns just like the tears…)
bottom line, this stuff is great. it smells amazing, think cedar wood + cedar resin with a bit of sweet citrus. this is much sharper than the sweet white copal from govinda, which is also awesome.. but when i think of copal i think of this.. it’s like filling a room with tree.
this is excellent with a white sage “base” laid down before you toss the copal on the coal, although the two tend to get a bit competitive when burned at the same time. (sage and cedar, duh.. go figure)
XTREMEK delivered on time and as expected, and the price is insane for a pound of this stuff. thanks again!

Great Quality & burn. Will use more charcoal because as the bigger ones burn they melt & turn into liquid which can make your charcoal go out. Just break into smaller pieces but its well worth the money.

The pic says it all, I found this bag to be even better then the description. if you look to the right of the ruler you will see what is mostly black, the single piece in the top of that bag is 3/4 the size of my fist, & I have a big fist. ALSO this material was NOT perfumed up like much of the other crap I have purchased, its all natural scent is very pleasing. I will buy this product again.
