Disclosure
  • We call this tea Japanese Sencha because not all Sencha on the market is from Japan. Our Sencha is a very fine one from the central Shizuoka province, and can be found in many homes in Tokyo
  • Our Japanese Sencha is a pleasant and approachable green tea, a fine choice for everyday, in the way our founder, John Harney, always began his mornings with this cup.
  • Each tin contains 20 tea sachets. Each sachet brews one 12 oz. cup of tea. Certified Kosher. Contains caffeine.
  • Tea is only as good as the water it is brewed in. Use filtered water as needed. Use one sachet for cup of tea desired. Pour 160F water over the tea and steep for 3 minutes. Remove the sachet. Relax and enjoy.
  • HARNEY & SONS IS A PROUD MEMBER OF 1% FOR THE PLANET. Joining 1% for The Planet in 2006 meant we could directly donate one percent of our total sales to the environmental organizations of our choice. Harney & Sons was founded on a commitment to deliver customers the finest quality tea possible. This promise, made over 30 years ago, serves as the company’s guiding principle.

This is a lovely tea with a great aroma and flavor which I have enjoyed for years; Harney teas are very good.

The flavor is good but the tea leaves are so thing that they tend to come out of the tea bag and I end up getting them all over the bottom of my mug.

My favorite type of green tea. It’s light and not overpowering like some green teas. You can make two cups of tea with the same satchet.

This tea is absolutely delicious and was perfect for the DIY tea party favors we created for a baby shower we were hosting! The flavor is lovely, and the cute tea tins made adorable baby shower centerpieces. The teas have such an elegant feel, and the price was perfect for what we needed. Harney & Sons really delivered on quality and presentation—such a great find!

When life gets stressful. Stop to have a nice cup of harney and sons green tea. Love the Japanese Seneca. So mild and delicious

Love this stuff. Tastes like matcha without the weird dusty feeling in your mouth. (I suppose because that’s what sencha is; unground matcha)
4 stars though, because the holes in the sachets are too large for this tea. It’s a dried roasted leaf, so it crumbles in the tin, leaks out of the sachet, and floats to the top.
For once, I would recommend the tea bags instead. They don’t have this problem.

If you are a pure sencha lover, maybe you will enjoy this. I had not tried it previously ad did not like the taste, even after adding pure honey.
