Super easy to prepare; 60 seconds in microwave. Delicious, filling, shelf-stable. I highly recommend all the Hormel Compleats meals.

I like it. I will buy it again.
I rarely eat Hormel Compleats as shelf stable meals in tiny portions don’t really do it for me. But I bought these on a whim. I am looking to make a more robust pantry with a wider variety of items that include shelf stable meals like this. For ultra convenience, for emergency, for getting ahead of inflation and shortages. Just want something to eat. Heated is best, but could be consumed at room temp too.

I really expected the worst. I know I had one of their concoctions several years back and didnt care for it. But I gave this a go (impulse purchase), and was pleasantly surprised by the rather good taste, an overall good texture.

The stuffing is more of a gravy blob, but there are bits of celery or something that add to the texture. I really liked it. The turkey is a compressed patty that will flake apart or stay together depending on how you cut into it (no knife needed, very soft). Similar to canned turkey or chicken. At least is isnt a sponge loaf of unknown origin. I could tell it was turkey.

Can’t beat the prep time. Just a minute give or take in the microwave. Stack these puppies high in the cupboard and you’ve got an easy meal anytime. If you have a big appetite like me then I would flesh it out with some noodles, mashed potatoes, rice or something bulky like that. Ooh maybe some toast or a good hunk of bread. Then maybe a vegetable if you have any. But if you are a light eater or someone who simply doesnt eat much yet wants the convenience and the variety (looking at you seniors!) then this is an option. No need to fuss.

I imagine perception of taste will vary. I cant say these are the new Holy Grail of shelf stable quick meals. But they have their place in my home and in my belly.

I think they are really good and I love that they only take 1 minute in the microwave. I’m trying to talk my parents, who are in a rehab facility together, to try some of the different varieties. A lot of times, especially my Mom, doesn’t like the meals and the Aides need something quick they can get her (they are soooo busy and short staffed) and these meals would be perfect! And the price is affordable.

These are the best. Add a baked potato or make instant mashed? Great flavor. 90 seconds and you are eating a good meal. Plus they store so well. If you have an elderly person that does’t need to be using the stove much anymore? These are handy and great value.

Love the beef stew but this was a disappointment unless you require a soft food diet. Tasty but mushy

Good product for the price. The turkey could use more flavor, put some dark meat in there, it tastes much better.

One of the best COMPLEATS. Gravy is not to strong and thins well. Great “meal” for my diabetes management.

The gravy is very good, turkey had no flavor and stuffing was too soupy from gravy. It will work in a “too go” bag.

Tasty…quickly heated…keeps in the cupboard and great to have when you don’t feel like cooking.

My husband will not make more of an effort to feed himself than to heat something up and if I’m not around to provide for him or leave him something already made in the fridge, his immediate go-to is canned soups and canned pastas. As such, I thought these Hormel meals would be a brilliant thing to have around the house. Not only are they right up his alley with being extremely easy to prepare but there is a very wide variety, they come in their own bowl, and you don’t need to refrigerate them. I had visions of him keeping a stash at work or in his car and never having to buy lunch if he forgot it at home. Or even him grabbing one for a late night snack and being pleased that he had so many different kinds to choose from.

Well, he quickly killed that after trying about four of them. He now will only eat them as a last resort. He’s really not all that fond of them. Which leaves me to eat them seeing as how we have so many in the house.

The chicken breast and dressing is one of the better ones of the Hormel line but it does have its faults. The gravy is too salty like many of Hormel’s products. The dressing, though, is good and filling and I actually prefer it over the potatoes you can find in many of the red meat meals. I’m not normally a fan of celery but the occasional crisp it adds to the dressing is very welcome. The texture gives what would otherwise be a pretty mushy meal, a tiny bit of contrast. The chicken in this is one of Hormel’s better meats, mostly because I feel like I’m actually eating meat (which unfortunately isn’t always the case with Hormel). I would say that the gravy would be much better with way less salt but I’m afraid if you took the salt away, the flavor would just be a bland, blah bore.

For what this is — a non-perishable prepared food that is fairly cheap — it’s pretty good. It will fill you up quickly at very low effort and cost, but if you are going to compare it to something you can make yourself, well, there really isn’t any comparison.

All I know is that if the end of the world were to come, we have so many of these that we would be set for some while. Well, as long as the end of the world didn’t mean the end of working microwaves, that is 🙂

These microwave dinners were better than expected. I followed the instructions and time for cooking on the first dinner and learned they needed a little more time in my microwave for the next one. The taste and texture were excellent. These are nice dinners to have on hand in the pantry instead of stocking up on frozen ones.

Hormel has been around many years and produces several good quality shelf stable foods. The Turkey and dressing meal is one of my favorites. I went thru a period of a couple of homeless months last year when I was literally forced to sleep in my car after a rough divorce. It happened that Thanksgiving was part of that time frame, and while I was feeling a bit down about not being with family, Hormel Turkey and Dressing was a good alternative to not being able to cook my own Turkey. It contains whole white meat Turkey breast and the dressing has bits of celery onion and water chestnuts like you might see in your own recipe. The gravy pulls it all together. So while it may not be homemade, it’s got its own good points. I often ate it unheated when a microwave wasn’t available. I continue to eat it now, living in ny own home again. Its easy to heat, and convenient to pack for lunch. The price on Amazon is unbeatable if you buy a 6pk.

I had high hopes after reading the reviews – but these were nasty. After giving the first one to the dog I heated up a second one. I don’t know what y’all have had as far as turkey and dressing – but the dressing is wet like clothes you were pre soaking, the gravy tasted like it was left over from WWII, and the turkey had the consistency of deviled ham. Overall it seemed very much like when you open a cheap can of dogfood. I like some of the Hormel Compleats – but the whole box I bought of these is going to the dog.

For a MRE / off a shelf meal, I doubt anyone could top this. Hormel is generally reliable for quality meat ingredients and they meet that standard here. The turkey is good quality, stuffing is good and the gravy is excellent.

The key to these is even heating in the microwave. Peel back both ends of the film seal about 1/2 inch to vent, then blast on high for 15 seconds, then pause 15 seconds. If you don’t have a turntable microwave, then open the door and turn it to a different position manually. Repeat for 2:15 total microwave time, then let it stand for 2-3 minutes.

My adult children in college love these! We leave the house little after 6am every morning. Some days we get home really late. It’s grab and go meals. They grab and we go. Helps me make sure they have a bite to eat when they are out and not break my bank. Cheaper and more filling than going out for fast food. TASTES GOOD TOO!

I could not wait for Thanksgiving this year I had to have some turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy today! This microwaved meal heats up in about 1 1/2 minutes (1 minute in my microwave was not enough but maybe it will be for you) and then you let it sit for 1 minute before eating.

I got some Ocean Spray canned jellied cranberry sauce and I was happy as could be having my own little Thanksgiving meal! You could add in some heated green beans and any other fixings you want like Jell-O salads.

I thought the turkey itself had a good firm texture and the gravy was delicious. The stuffing has celery in it so a little bit of crunch too. Overall I’d say I was very satisfied with this meal and it was way quicker than cooking a whole turkey! I did not find this overly salty at all and even added a little of my own seasoning salt – just a small shake of the salt shaker.

I’m giving 4 stars only to note the high sodium of over 900. That’s probably why it tastes good.😉 First time trying this turkey and dressing meal. It’s convenient, quick and flavorful. Paid under $14 for 6 so just over $2 each. The small portion is good for light eater , kids, elderly or snack. It heats quickly so if you’re making additional side dish like potato, etc you have a minute. I was surprised the flavor was nicer than I expected. It cooked evenly, the turkey was tender. If you do not like gravy on your stuffing, this probably isn’t for you. I like it both ways. Gravy, turkey and stuffing all had a good flavor. Great , small meal, snack, on the go.

Hubby bought these Hormel Compleats in several different flavors for our 17-year-old son. They are complete meals, easy to heat and yummy to eat. These are shelf stable (no need for refrigeration) and take just a minute or two to prepare.

The meats (we have had turkey, meatloaf, chicken & Salisbury steak) all taste like good meaty protein, and it isn’t a small piece of meat either. There is plenty of mashed potatoes with enough gravy that you don’t feel like you’re missing out on anything!

These are awesome for those times when you aren’t too hungry for dinner, need something yummy for lunches at work or as my mother-in-law states, “perfect for when you know you need to eat to take medicine but don’t want a huge meal”.

Compleats Turkey & Dressing are one of my favorites. I eat various Compleats meals several times a week. They are shelf stable and can be ready in a couple of minutes. The meat is turkey loaf and there is a lot of it. I prefer it over the chicken breast one. The dressing has real crunchy celery in it. I break up the turkey and add black pepper midway in the microwave time. I find most frozen one serving lunch option don’t do well in the micro wave and you need to cook them in the oven for a half of an hour or more. The Compleats cook in a minute in the micro wave and come out great. I recommend the Turkey & Dressing.
