I did a ton of research on ionic foot baths before buying this one, because you’ll see plenty of people online calling them a gimmick, but honestly, I don’t think those people really understand how these things actually work. After doing my own research, I decided to give it a shot and I’m so glad I did, especially with this model. Unlike some foot baths that customers say arrive with no instructions (strange, but true), this one comes with a helpful guide and one big thing worth noting don’t obsess over the color of the water. A lot of that discoloration comes from the array reacting with minerals that are already in your tap water (like iron), not just from your body!

what really matters isn’t the color, it’s how your body reacts afterward. The foot bath doesn’t literally suck toxins out through your feet 🙂 instead, it helps activate your body’s natural detox process for days after each session. This is somewhat like what happens when you use a grounding or earthing mat, or even when you walk barefoot on the earth but in my experience, the foot bath feels more powerful. By the end, the water always looks pretty cloudy and full of mineral buildup. Cleanup’s easy though! No scrubbing, no mess, just pour down through drain 🙂 This product honestly deserves a review this long!

Do not buy if you have sensitive feet. Water basin has very sharp, hard spikes on bottom. I lasted 5 minutes – couldn’t stand spikes digging into my soles.
Detox unit appeared to work. I would suggest buying detox unit separately.

I’ve been researching these online for awhile, so I was very happy to be offered one for testing.

The basin is good quality and sufficiently sized for use. I used a little less than 2 gallons of hot water to make sure the array was submerged. In the ad, it shows the top of the array above the water, but I thought it would be best to follow the actual instructions. They’re really easy and you’ll be set up in no time.

I didn’t think that the little spoon would be useful to me but it is, simply because the array is very sensitive to the salinity of the water. If you use too much salt, the control unit won’t operate. This fact is mentioned in the manual. So only use the amount recommended, and I would personally recommend a fine grain epsom salt (not the chunky kind).

The company is also very transparent in the manual about the fact the the water will change color regardless if your feet are in it or not. So it was impressive to me that they referenced the actual science behind it.

Once I put my feet in the basin, the magic started happening, and honestly it was fascinating to watch. I ended up with a deep orange brown color with some sort of whitish colored substance floating around in it. Kind of gross, but kind of awesome at the same time; it’s hard to explain. And yes, I do feel better after using this. It’s hard to explain that too, but I just feel a bit lighter more clear headed in general, so I’m looking forward to further results. I don’t know if this is just a placebo effect happening here or not, but for now it’s good and I’ll take it.

The timer worked perfectly and counted down 30 minutes accurately. They say that the array will last for 20 to 30 uses with correct care and that eventually I will have to purchase more. I’m currently assuming that this is common regardless of what brand you buy. I’ve priced these, and I think they’re pretty budget friendly, so I’m ok with that.

The ONLY thing that knocked a star off of this for me was the massage nodules that are molded into the bottom of the basin. Oh my goodness, how I hate those torturous things. They’re painful to me and I had to basically keep my feet raised in the basin or pressed up against the sides for some relief. I’ll be looking for a small mat to lay over the bottom so I can continue using this in comfort. For the price, I think they should include one for us “sensitive soles” out here, so to speak.

Also, be sure to clean the basin right after you use it, because those toxins that are pulled from you will make a brown ring in the basin that stains. (Not a complaint, just an observation)

This review is based on my first impressions after using this for a few days, so I’ll update if I have any new information to share.

This review is for the Healifeco Ionic Foot Spa.

I am a born skeptic. That being said, after doing some research in which experts say this technology does not produce sound results, I decided to test that theory.

As predicted from research, when I put the ‘Array’ into the water only (no feet), pretty much immediately the water started turning brown, as seen in photo #1. By the time the 30 minutes was up, the water was disgusting with what appeared to be globs of something. Evidently, this is caused just by the minerals in the water and not by ‘removing’ them from the human body.

I then cleaned the basin and the Array thourghly and proceeded to test it with my feet in the unit. Again, (Picture #3), it started immediately turning brown and after 30 minutes (Picture #4) it was disgusting…although it was missing the ‘globs’ that were in the test without feet.

I put a garbage bag into the basin to prevent any staining that would make it gross if someone else wanted to try it out. I would also add that the bumps on the bottom of the basin are rather sharp and painful to me.

The instructions recommend using this 4-5 times weekly for best results, but based on my test and what I have read, I do not believe this to be anything backed up by science to prove that it is beneficial in any other way than a good soak with hot water would be.

I know that some people have reviewed it and swear that they have experienced some sort of relief or healing afterward. If in their mind it has helped, that is great, but I do not believe it is reality based.

Based on my experience, I would suggest getting some sort of vibrating foot spa to achieve the same or better results.

I thought this was supposed to take the impurities from my body but the water started turning a light brown before I put my feet in. I liked that it had an acupuncture type thing in the bottom so my feet were massaged; however, I wish that it was wider because the item you’re supposed to put into the water obstructed the placement of my feet so I couldn’t get the full massage which was unfortunate. I could use it without the adapter which is fine. I did like that the tub is collapsible so it’s convenient for storage. Although this was easy to put together I’m not sure that it was effective. My feet did feel nice against the massage feature in the bottom of the tub.

In my totally and honest opinion after using this “ Ionic Foot Spa.” Although I do find that the concept and the purpose of using it is supposed to help with detoxifying many different issues that you may be experiencing within your body. ( Like Liver and More. )

I must say that as I soaked my feet for about 30 minutes the water did show some changes from the beginning to the end. ( As you can see in the pictures ) So far the only thing that I currently did notice is that my feet felt more relaxed when I was done.

Being Transparent I can’t be sure to what levels that this spa has been working. I’m not sure that’s this is the best fit for me due to some personal reasons.

Overall, I really enjoyed the foot spa. It is super easy to use and setup. It collapses which saves a lot of space and everything fits inside for easy storage. The basin is great quality and even when full isn’t heavy which I was worried about. Last thing I wanted was to have water everywhere. I also appreciate the lid that comes with it to lessen the chances of spilling.

The 30 minute “timer” is awesome because I tend to get side tracked and will forget how long I’ve been sitting. It beeps when it’s done and will turn itself off.

The little ridges on the bottom didn’t bother me but I had to keep my feet at more of an angle because of the ionizer. The instructions say to place it right in the middle so that doesn’t leave much room for your feet.

I wanted to try this because I have very bad joint pain, back pain, all over body ache so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try something new. I can’t say that I felt like a new person afterwards but I did feel more relaxed.

My water went from clear to an orange-brown to black color. Super gross but very interesting. I noticed a metallic smell after 20 min or so as I got closer to check the water. I don’t know if it were all of the toxins being removed like it claims but something happened.
