I lovingly refer to this tea as battery acid. It’s very strong and the caffeine packs a punch so hard that I can get rid of a migraine very quickly if I begin sipping at the onset. However the taste is very pungent and while I’ve come to love and get cravings for it, on occasion it can give me a stomachache if I’m not feeling very well.
I wasn’t looking for health benefits. I was just looking for a tea that was refreshing when consumed while cold. This became my go-to after discovering the cans and bottles as a teenager. Now I purchase the larger bottles off of Amazon and keep them nearby.
You might be used to watered down tastes of tea. This is not it. It’s a very full flavor and if you’re used to brewing your own, this might be closer to what you want, especially if you prefer your tea without sweeteners or creamer. This is the closest I can get to what I’m used to with my tea strainer and making it myself, but in a more cooling and refreshing format. I enjoy this taste so much that I started buying their teabags. Totally worth it. Really, I love that taste.
If you’re looking for an introduction to green tea, this is a nice choice although the taste is indeed very strong. Most green tea does not come this pungent….but I admittedly do like it and I constantly find myself comparing every tea (not just green tea) to this brand so I’m probably ruined for life.

bottles came a little dented but no leaks. green tea is my favorite, big portions 😀 put in the fridge overnight and pour into a cup on a hot day. quality is always consistent with ito en, just wish it was a little cheaper!

The bold version bought in cases so it’s cheap is more bitter than the standard one but then again much more divinely tasty when you moderate the flavor with but a pinch or two of citric acid crystals. Beware of adding even a bit too much or else you’ll have to dilute it between another bottle. I learned this trick by reading the ingredients list of the 365 Whole Foods version which they are recently always out of. And avoid contaminating the threads or cap lest you suffer a nasty burst of citrus sourness when you take a sip later. The color of the bold version looks great next next to an oil lamp on my table. No need to refrigerate it, it won’t mold for a week at least. I’m staying in temporary housing where the fridge is not convenient, so I tested longevity and was pleasantly surprised.

These bottles come with many large tea bottles. The bottles were overall very easy to use and the taste of the tea is very smooth quality tea which will leave you refreshed.

Great neutral flavor, palate cleansing. Wish it was cheaper but it’s better than chugging sugary iced tea and soda. Great replacement for sugar addiction, the regular version even has a strong Green Tea flavor. The Bold Green Tea version is also good.
Caffeine isn’t too bad, just right. Won’t send your pulse skyrocketing but just enough to help with focus. No chest palpitations like coffee for me. Also has a calming effect as well, Catechins probably.
Not for everyone though like certain spices or seafood.

I’m busy, I do not have time to brew green tea all the time so I want high quantities of high quality green tea.
Also, no sugar, no added flavors. Just straight up heaven. I order this stuff in bulk and then drink it too fast and then I order more because it is so good.
If you want sweeteners take your business elsewhere. If you want straight up golden elixir, Ito En is the best!

Love this brand of green tea. It’s mellow and crisp. The large size is great because the smaller size (20 oz), you can suck one in a gulp. It’s that fresh and delicious
