Easy to apply and stays put all day with no smearing. I use the taupe shimmer. It is a subtle shimmer and suitable for any occasion. I use it everyday and hope it never goes out of stock.

Like how it goes on, lasts all day, great color. Instead of using the blending sponge on the stick I used one of my brushes & found it blended great. A number of reviewers noted that it’s difficult to remove. I use Micellar Water for all my makeup removal & found it worked quite well on this shadow. Disappointed I can’t get some other colors I want or they’re very expensive in comparison to the “Stone” color. I looked around on Amazon and found a similar product “Palladio” which from the reviews seems similar to Julep at a much lower price. I’m going to purchase from them & see how their product fairs in comparison.

Not the color I ordered so expensive item of no use and no returns. Really pissed off

This is the perfect color for me. The product itself stays on nicely. It isn’t hard to work with at all. You can use the other end and blend, but I use a very small brush and add this right on my eyelash line on the top. Then I gently tap it a few more times across the same area and blend with another brush. Because it is a cream, it blends very well while it’s still newly on. Once it sets in, though, you have lost your blend window, which is exactly what I would want from a cream eyeshadow. I then take the small brush again and make a wing line upwards. Use a different color shadow that I tamp into the eyelid, then crease, and on that goes. Then blend it all. I use a shade just lighter than this to use on my watermark, and poof, I have eyelashes. (I have blonde eyelashes. It has taken me decades to get it right.)
This product is so valuable to me that I keep three extra on hand at all times. I cannot go without it.
The value is perfect for the price. I love this. The only thing that scares me is ..what if they stop making it .. lol.
It can be used alone as a shadow by itself, and I have done that. On cocktail night, this whole routine I do for the day goes out the window, and this becomes the star of my eyes. I have always felt like black is just way too harsh for shadow and liner unless you actually have true black hair. I also have this in shimmer and very light for the corners of my eyes and below my eyes. I don’t wear anything on my lower eyes other than this brand, in very light. No mascara either. (I also set this cream shadow/liner with either a clear setting powder or a navy of the same color. I found that if I do it helps since I wear all cream everything. If you don’t wear cream foundation, you likely won’t need to set it in. Sometimes I also use primer to help set it in. That is cocktail night because during the day I don’t have patience for primer.)

Best eyeshadow out there. I don’t like doing much makeup or anything that takes too much time, but I can swipe this over my lids and even blend two colors easily to contour a lid lift. This is indeed waterproof. I wear it at the lake and swim with it all day in the sun. That is the best part! Almost requires an oil based makeup remover to come off, but no scrubbing is necessary with a good remover. I’d recommend Clinique Take The Day Off either balm or liquid work great depending on your preference. For reference, I am wearing the color “champagne” in this photo and I believe that color is the best for every day wear as it a subtle yet beautiful share that goes with everything. If you were to only choose one stick to start with, that would be the color I would suggest for any age.

Love! Super easy to use and the color is perfect! A good, all-around everyday color, to use on both upper and lower lids. I get a ton of compliments on my eyes, and it literally takes me minutes to apply. I’ve been using this product for several years now and I plan on continuing. I love that it doesn’t smear/smudge and it lasts all day into the night. Worn with mascara, it gives a nice smokey, soft look. Gives a more natural looking eye than just wearing mascara alone. Last a long time and the price is unbeatable!

I use this shadow stick as eyeliner, because it’s easy to apply without a mess. I would love it if you had a slightly thinner one, but not too thin. Also, if you had a bigger size than the .32 oz. $18 is a lot for a crayon that doesn’t last me very long. Some colors are more expensive than others. Not sure why. It spreads easily, but even though it’s waterproof, it tends to smudge a lot. Good product. A bit pricey for what you get. Julep has it cheaper, but it’s a smaller size and you get charged for shipping.

The Julep eyeshadow stick is everything it says it is, and then some. The application goes on so smoothly and covers and does not crease. It really does go on as a cream then turns into a powder. A very fine suede powder. Doesn’t rub off and lasts for hours. It’s very easy to remove. I’ve used make-up wipes and I’ve used facial soap and facial cleanser. They all come off easily without robust wiping. I love this product so much that I ordered six more in various shades. It’s perfect for my senior skin that still likes to wear make-up. It looks like a professional application. I’m very impressed with the Julep eyeshadow sticks so I’m going to study all they have to offer in their online Amazon store.

First cream shadow I’ve used in years. I love it!
I purchased because all of the baked, smooth powders flaked into my contacts.
Goes on smoothly, zero tug, blends easily, I use my fingertip, with other shades.
No creasing or settling in lines, and I’m older so some wrinkles and dry skin.
All day wear, no smudging after application that I’ve noticed.
Because it’s creamy, no flaking in our around the eye.
Potty Matte shade is subtle enough to use all over the lid, or in the crease line with other shades.
Love it so much, I bought a lighter and darker shade the next day.

Great natural look color… Stayed on all day… Have bought several times… And will again.

Good color, quality. Have purchased Julep products many times. Sometimes the color isn’t quite as expected…lighter or darker than as displayed in their pictures. But, goes on smoothly and lasts well through the day. Would like to see more matte color options. Nice to have the blending pad on the other end. Really like their products, although getting the exact shade you’re after is kind of a challenge with their products.

I wanted an eyeshadow stick that would be easy to apply and try.e to the color advertised= vanilla matte. This shadow stick delivered on both. Less is best. By that I mean when applying, use sparingly and BLEND BLEND BLEND. Layering powder over is super easy and lasts all day. It is truly Matte, no shine, no creasing. It will be a go to shadow for me.
Melissa –
I purchased the Rose Shimmer & Champagne colors. I read mixed reviews for the rose color being more of a copper/penny/rose gold, but gambled and got it anyway because the stock photos showed otherwise. We’ll – I got the batch that looks like copper. My skin can’t handle orange undertones and unfortunately this color is not for me, even though I still think it’s beautiful! If I had more tan or olive skin – this is the perfect summer warm bronzer glow look. (I did wait to see if the color changed with oxidation and it stays true to color throughout the day.) The Champagne color is as described and gorgeous! They truly glide on so creamy, but feel like a powder once it’s set. Careful when you blend – I found the product wipes off really easily when trying to blend. Unfortunately I may be allergic to something in these though because they made my lids swell. (I am hyper sensative to everything, so don’t let that scare you from trying them.) Because they do rub off easily and slightly sit in the crease after a while, I find the sale value of $12 fine for how beautiful they look. Definitely a great “apply & go” stick for rushed mornings!

I have 5 of these great eyeshadow sticks in different colors, and both the matte and the shimmery colors are amazing. Application is easy and quick, and the smudger is easy to use also. Cream goes on smoothly, and dries to a smooth powder that has great pigmentation and staying power. Love this product!

I ordered this eyeshadow stick in Champagne Shimmer and it’s a really nice everyday shade. The formula glides on smoothly and blends easily using the built in smudger or a fingertip. It sets to a soft powder finish that feels lightweight on the lids. The shimmer is subtle but brightening and works well for both simple looks or layering. It holds up well throughout the day without creasing much once set. Overall it’s a convenient and easy to use product for quick eye looks.

I wanted something easy to use and doubles as an eyeliner and this product is so perfect! It goes on easily and the color is vibrant. No smearing or racoon eyes at all. I wore it all day with no issues. I even bought 3 other colors because I couldn’t choose which I liked better. Very happy with my purchase!

I didn’t get to try this out because I received a used item. (And it appears I’m not the only one.) I was able to get a close look at it, and I was immediately disappointed with the color “mixture.” The item I selected wouldn’t have worked for me, regardless of any other issue.
I’ve been curious about these eyeshadow sticks for a long time. I wanted to test them out years ago, but they seemed kind of pricey for my budget. I don’t like to spend more than I’m used to on an item I have no certainty will work as claimed. But then my friend told me she bought a stick on discount, and it was a game changer for her. (Easy to use, easy to blend, buildable color, quick application, lasts long, looks natural, etc.) She said she bought more and suggested I at least try one. She insisted they were worth the regular price… finding one on discount was just a bonus. We’re very much alike in what we look for in beauty cosmetics, so I was intrigued. I also saw there were a ton more reviews on Amazon than the last time I checked, and the majority of them seemed highly positive. So, I went for it. I felt I had the amount of guarantee I needed to justify testing this thing out.
I got the sheer shimmery pink color to use as a highlighter and on the inner corner of my eyes for a brightening effect. But that’s not going to happen now. After I received my used product, I took a closer look at the reviews on Amazon – mostly to see if anyone mentioned unexpected problems with the same color I ordered. Instead, I noticed there were quite a bit of people who received what appeared to be used products, too!
This is highly disappointing considering this brand seemed to have made a good name for itself over the last few years. I was really excited to finally try their infamously convenient and water-resistant eyeshadow stick. You’d think they’d be more careful about the products they’re sending out – especially for what they’re charging.
My eyeshadow stick was undoubtedly used before I received it. Box was slightly crushed with signs of having been opened. The tip of the eyeshadow was smudged and there was product smeared on the outside of the barrel. If all that wasn’t proof enough, the sponge tip had makeup residue on it as if someone fully tried every part of this thing out.
I can’t speak for the application and wear quality of the item because I’m not willing to risk transferring potential bacteria to my eyes, face, or even the back of my hand. I can say the expectation of the product was not met, right off the bat. I can also add that I was surprised that there looked to be big chunks of glitter in the shimmery sheer pink eyeshadow and on the sponge tip. (I wasn’t expecting such large specks of actual GLITTER to be in the mix. It wasn’t shown on the advertised photos or explicitly stated that cheap glitter would be used. I did expect some fine mineral-like shimmer, but not cheap glitter.)
I’d suggest that if you buy this product, you thoroughly inspect it upon receiving it. Having cosmetics melt or break during shipment is one thing. But being sold a used product (advertised as new) is absolutely unacceptable. Especially, when there’s evidence of it be a reoccurring issue for this particular product.
I’m debating whether or not I want to try ordering another color – only because my friend was raving about this eyeshadow like it was the best product she has found to date. If I do decide to take another chance, I’d likely play it safe and choose a matte shade. I can handle some amount of “shimmer,” but I feel I’m a bit too old and I don’t get dressed up enough to decorate my eyes with glitter. (I cannot stress enough: This was straight up large specks of GLITTER – almost like you’d find in a craft store or in young teens’ cheap & trendy makeup – mixed in with an otherwise nice looking shimmery/pearlescent color.)
I’m just worried I’ll get another used product… or that the product was otherwise kept in unsanitary/uncertain conditions before I received it. I just don’t understand how this issue could happen so often. (Search thru the product reviews for yourself and count the number of complaints. You may not find it to be excessive, but I do. It really should be more of a rare occurrence. I haven’t found this many complaints of used/questionable products when researching other cosmetics I’m also interested in trying.)
Also, avoid the shimmery sheer light pink color… unless you’re ok with random large specks of glitter. Then maybe go for it. The overall main color appeared nice with some shimmer to it already.

I’m a mature woman over 40, i e been using this eyeshadow stick for 4 months and here’s what I like about Julep cream-to-powder waterproof eyeshadow stick; it goes on smoothly, blends well when you use the blending applicator, there’s no creasing, the shimmery colors are just that – shimmery. None of that funky nightclubbing glitter look that flakes off. This is eyeshadow is waterproof and stays on all day long.
This comes off easily with makeup remover or miceller water.

Overall I think this is a very good, quality product at a reasonable price. But as a sidebar (and no fault to the makers of this product) someone should tell you that once you’re over 40ish, the skin around your eyes is too ‘crepy’ for a shadow stick LOL.
I like the two colors I got, I like the texture and how it looks, but I have to use a brush or the smudger to blend it because it doesn’t spread well on my “old lady” eyelids (I’m really not that old, am I?!).
I bought this plus two other brands so I could compare. It’s better than the really cheap $7 version because this container has a smudger on the opposite end and because this container has a color swatch on the end so you know what you’re grabbing from your makeup bag. And frankly, I like it better than the Smashbox one I bought because it’s like half the price and essentially the same thing!

I love it. I am makeup minimalist. Typically a little blush and mascara does it. Occasionally, I touch up on the eyes. This is perfect. It gives a little color and a little shimmer. It’s easy to use on both ends. Has a little sponge brush at one end, I use it to soften the color if I applied too much. I’d say for the most part it stays on well. I put it on in the morning and work through my 13 hour shift with it still on but does start to crease in the lids over that period of time but I think at that point it’s expected. Would totally get another color.
Melissa –
Beautiful dark taupe color, so easy to glide on. This is a hefty pen with screw-up point that doesn’t need sharpening. I use it for an eyeliner on top and bottom lashes. I have a light, warm toned complexion with blue-green eyes and, as a liner, it adds just enough color to accent my eyes without needing any additional makeup. It doesn’t work for me as an eyeshadow on my wrinkly 78 year old lids.

I actually bought this to top off one of my orders for free shipping. I actually really like it and will be buying more. It glides very smoothly across the top eyelid and does not stretch the skin at all. It also stays in place all day and the color is beautiful.

This product is absolutely amazing! It’s buttery smooth, color rich, and it really does last all day. I wish that the tip and product in general were a little bit thinner so I could do more of a line as a base, but it really is a gorgeous color. I feel safe using a product from a company that uses quality ingredients and makes sure that it is non toxic. The cream is not thick at all, it feels lightweight and airy, like I’m not wearing anything at all. The twist is also smooth and easy, can’t wait to try other colors!

Stray1 –
