Never have I written a product review on any skincare products i’ve ever bought, but ciciplast is the one exception. This baume is not only a fantastic moisturizer but works wonders for your skin barrier. I had been suffering from years of barrier damage, it had gotten to the point where putting on basic products would sting, my skin had these persistent breakouts that wouldn’t respond to anything, my skin was flaking and shedding, and my skin barrier just felt weak and thin. I had heard good reviews about ciciplast, and thought “a cream meant for chapped lips, no way” but i proved myself wrong right away, and started seeing results in my dry skin after days off using it. As well as my acne, i’m on medication that can heavily strip my barrier, and makes my barrier very compromised in the sun, and while i was on vacation i got badly burned , and thought my acne would flare up like crazy, but all i used was ciciplast and the sunburns not only calmed down very quickly (sometimes resolving in just hours) but my acne didn’t even flare up like crazy, and keep in mind i had to get off my medication, so it was just ciciplast i was using on my face. And this product is very thick, but not heavyweight, it won’t way your skin down like other moisturizers. A generous application in the morning could last me the entire day, so don’t get discouraged by these little tubes (one of them lasted me around 2-3 months). And also the shine, it can be a problem if you don’t apply it correctly, but when done right on damp skin, and around a pea sized amount, it gives your a great natural looking shine. It’s great on sensitive skin, and my barrier feels the best it’s ever felt, I can’t recommend a product enough, I feel like this is something i could took for hours about, but in short, it’s amazing at what it does, moisturizing skin and barrier repair, and will last you a good while. It’s best used on dry skin, but can work on oily and combination skin too. Amazing for its cost, great at what it does, truly a perfect product, couldn’t recommend more 10/10

This saved my skin! For a month, my skin has been freaking out because I’ve been traveling back and forth to humid and dry climates and I was breaking out and using way too many products with active ingredients to combat it. My face was red, red, not even my heaviest duty makeup could cover it up and my texture was chafed and raw feeling, it was bad. I tried to use a number of different products all of which burned my skin when I put it on and then I would wash it off, hence more irritated skin when I remembered this product was a fave for Accutane patients. I slathered this all over my face and it was the only thing that helped me, my skin was significantly less red, I was truly shocked. It is a thick cream so you don’t need much. Even thought the bottle is little, I really think it’s worth it and a little goes a long way, super moisturizing and soothing. People use this for diaper wash so you could imagine the consistency. I can’t imagine using it every day cause it’s a cross between lotion and an almost vaseline-like texture, so your face will be shiny and it’s hard to imagine makeup could even stay on top of this, but for when in a damaged skin barrier situation, this is a huge help. I am so glad I brought this product.

I genuinely love this cream so much! And despite how thick and rich it is, it doesn’t break me out (I have acne prone skin).
It’s very thick so if you have other skincare on your face, it might not spread or absorb as easily. You can wait a while and then apply, or sometimes I’ll use a fan to help the other skin care penetrate. Another option: to get it to penetrate my skin at night, I’ll mix it up with fingers along with my night time moisturizer (vanicream moisturizer, which is more of lotion) to thin it out, and then i apply that mixture as the last step in my skincare. I am so glowy and hydrated in the morning!
I also put some on my lips, then add aquaphor/vaseline on top, and my lips are so soft in the morning.
If I have an old pimple that it basically healing (ie doesn’t have any more gunk to drain), then I put a tiny dot of this and it helps heal the irritated skin.

The first time I used this in March, it clogged my pores. However, when used on dry enough skin (like mine this Fall), it can definitely help with rebuilding the skin barrier and healing. There is a white cast partly because it is thick/rich. I would give it a 4.3 because it does work, but may clog pores depending on climate and skin tendencies.
