Definitely is how the ad stated. I love the color. It’s easy to apply and doesn’t have any disagreeable flavor. I do need to use a clear gloss over it as the matte is just that. As far as value, it’s priced like any other of the same, and it lasted a long time as advertised. So, it’s worth the price. I would purchase again.

I love to put a layer of matte liquid lipstick on and then put a Burt’s Bees tinted lip shimmer overtop! The Burt’s Bees keeps my lips hydrated, but the liquid lipstick makes the color pop more and last longer. This went on really smooth and dried pretty quickly. I will say it looks a LOT more pink out in natural light than it does when you first put it on inside. I took comparative pictures, but even those don’t do it justice.
Putting this on will last pretty much all day as long as I keep putting the shimmer on top. Without something overtop, it all depends on how particular you are about your lipstick. I’m pretty particular, so I would be freshening it up every three or four hours just to make sure it’s still perfect, especially if I’m eating something. It will also make your lips very dry (again without something added to it), but that’s standard for liquid lipsticks; especially matte ones. I bought two other colors as well, and I love them all! It’s only four stars due to the dryness as well as the price for a single tube of lipstick.

I have been using this lipstick for 5 years now, so I figured it’s about time to leave a review. And I’ve got a lot to say since I’ve used it for so long and have tried multiple shades, coming back to the reviews every time I want to try a new colour (photos can be so helpful!) Quite frankly, I love them! I can’t say this enough! I can eat, drink, kiss, sleep, even SHOWER with this lipstick on and it doesn’t come off! Washing my face may take some off but not much unless I’m really scrubbing and use my fingernail to scrape at it. The only thing that takes this stuff off is anything with oil in it – a makeup wipe mostly, with a bit of applied pressure, and sometimes as I eat something oily/greasy and wipe my mouth (it’s minimal but noticeable, depending on the shade). It MIGHT sometimes come off a little when I sleep but not very often. Just depends on how I slept. Most of the time, I wake up looking like I just put it on, even if it’s been over 24 hours since I applied it!
I’ve noticed some of the reviews here mentioned that it’s sticky, tacky, or thick or it may take a long time to dry. THIS IS USER ERROR. This is NOT an issue with the lipstick! When you use it, scrape AS MUCH AS YOU CAN off of the applicating brush back into the tube. Get all sides and edges of the brush. Not only will this help with the longevity of the product, but the **thinnest of layer** is all you need. You can always apply more, if needed – again, depends on the shade. My lips are always 100% set in under 5 minutes. Just try not to drink in that time because it’ll come off on the glass and it’s not the easiest to wash off after it dries. But it won’t be enough to be noticeable that any has come off of your lips, even if you JUST applied it and immediately picked up the glass (unless you put it on too thick… again, USER ERROR lol). Just annoying if you have to hand-wash the dishes but the dishwasher almost ALWAYS gets it off lol
One nice thing about this, verses other matte lipsticks out there, is this doesn’t make your lips feel dry at all and it doesn’t flake off whatsoever. You can lick your lips all you want if you’d like and it feels just like your natural lips. If you DO have any flaking, you’ll only ever notice it on a cup or straw, and it’s just coming from the crease of your mouth where your lips touch, which tends to be the most lubricated area which causes the most wear. You’ll never notice your lips are dry but, every once and a while, you’ll have some dead skin to remove which is easily done. I just consider this like an exfoliate to keep my lips healthy without doing any scrubbing. Happens maybe a couple times a month if I use the lipstick almost every day of the month but may be different person to person. The #1 thing I recommend (and perhaps I should take my own advice lol) is to use a moisturiser when you go to bed at night.
Another USER ERROR with some of these reviews is saying how easy it is to come off. If it comes off easily, there are 3 reasons for that. 1: You put it on too thick 2: You applied a gloss on top 3. You’ve eaten something fairly oily/greasy (#3 can be avoided if you’re careful and use utensils, and it’s really only noticeable with darker shades). It could be a combination of the 3 as well. But trust me… this stuff doesn’t come off unless you REALLY want it to. And for those reviewers who are complaining about how hard it is to remove – again this is user error- to an extent. The key is OIL. Chap stick, lip gloss, a juicy cheeseburger, greasy pepperoni pizza, something with mayonnaise in it, make up wipes, or heck even vegetable oil and a rag will do it. I have noticed that the thicker areas are more stubborn so a little extra pressure with the wipe will do. This is usually the edges of my lips since that’s where I apply first and focus on straight lines and shape. Most face wash or other face products (even a cleansing oil) WON’T because they’re generally oil-free and made with oil-like moisturising products instead, unless you get the kind for dry skin. Either way, a wipe of some sort or a rag is a must no matter what oily method of removal you use. You’re welcome. I just told you the secret magical mystery cure lol
Just a disclaimer though… because that crease between your lips tends to collect saliva, as well as the corners of your mouth, just be aware that darker and more bold colours will show signs of wear in these areas after a while. It does NOT do this with the black that I’ve ever noticed, but the other ones that are a bit more bold and darker have. I have noticed this with Voyager and Visionary out of the ones listed in my photos which I’ve tried. This will especially happen if you’ve put it on thicker than it should be. For this reason, I always start with the outside of my lips before filling in the rest, to get any excess from the brush off in that area than an area that will wear down faster.. And, as I said before, that’s why it’s harder to get off around the outside of my lips than the rest.
I’ve had sooo many compliments and many people asking what kind of lipstick I use, always mentioning that they’ve noticed I ate and drank and never had to reapply. Heck, even the lady who cleans my teeth has asked me because it’s never come off on her gloves haha I’ve even had guys tell me they liked the colour of lipstick I’m wearing, often mentioning how my go-to is the same shade as my hair lol I’ve loved all shades on me that I’ve gotten so far except for one. Guest of Honor looked TERRIBLE on me, so I gave it to my daughter (hence her face marked out in the photo). I think it looked good on her. I don’t think I’ve never looked good in any shades of pink.
**It REEEEEALLY annoys me when people leave photo reviews for makeup without saying what colour it is**
When the listing has several colours, how am I supposed to know what you’re wearing to tell if it’s a match to the list photo? Especially since the review doesn’t always list the one you actually bought. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone through these photos and I’m like oh wow this shade looks like it might have the right shade of light purple that looks good on me, what colour is this? Then I look at the name Amazon listed for it above the review, only to see that it’s for a dark brown or a red and NOT whatever you had on in the photo. Really frustrating. If it’s just one photo, just mention which one in the review! So for that reason, I’ve made sure to label each colour appropriately on the photos for you to get an idea of the shades with my skin tone. My everyday go-to, which I wear almost constantly, is Amazonian. It’s nearly a dead-on match to my copper hair. When my copper hair is particularly vibrant, Globetrotter is a great match. But I think all the other ones look fantastic as well. I still have more shades I’d like to try, though!
I hope this helps someone. It’s so difficult to choose what to buy online based solely on colours when they can vary so much from the actual list photos. Just remember that the colours will look different on people with different skin tones as well, so find someone whose skin tone matches yours to get an idea of how it’ll look on you. But even if you’re not the same skin tone, it’s still good to at least see what each colour actually looks like. All but two of these photos are in natural light or under bright lights, which are Visionary and Voyager (just in the shadow a bit but both photos are still pretty close on the exact shade). So these should be very closely true-to-colour.

I love the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink — it seriously does not budge. Once it sets, it stays on all day (even through eating and drinking), which is exactly what I want.
The color payoff is great, and it goes on smoothly with the applicator. It dries down to a true matte without feeling overly heavy.
The only thing to note is you need a good remover to take it off, but that’s expected with how long it lasts.
Bottom line: amazing staying power and gorgeous color — one of my go-to lip products.

These are my absolute favorite lipsticks of all time. They stay on all day, last through meals, stay on all night when I go to bed forgetting to take it off, and they’re super affordable. (Dare I say these may last longer than the Stila liquid lipsticks, which I also love.) I got kind of obsessed with finding the right shade for my wedding day someday that I bought 10 in one summer. Not my proudest moment, but I’ve really enjoyed them. No regrets, even though I don’t love every color.
My absolute favorites are Seductress, Revolutionary, Inspirer and Voyager.
My least favorites are the fair skin colored ones, like Loyalist and Poet. They’re too close to my skin color which looked gross on me in bathroom lighting. Out of the two I’m more likely to wear Poet. Dreamer is like a Pepto Bismol color. Founder is like a pinkish red, like the color of my shirt. Pathfinder was a lighter, pinker red and hard for me to match. Seductress is AMAZING, especially on redheads. An awesome casual color.
I’ve added pictures of every color I bought along with including their names in the photos. Each photo is taken either in front of a window or outside in order to use natural lighting to get an accurate shot of their true color. I’m hoping they’re helpful to you all.
I will say these lipsticks are super sticky, even after they dry. Licking them does not fix the sticky feeling. However, applying a super thin coat of chapstick by dabbing (not rubbing) the chapstick on the lower lip then pressing your lips together works perfectly! Just remember a little goes a LONG way, because if you add too much, the lipstick will start to come off. Maybelline’s Super Stay 24 Color lipsticks are very similar AND they each contain a chapstick on the opposite end of the lipstick. I left a review with pictures there because OBSESSED.
If I were to pick one of these colors for my wedding day next year, it would probably be Revolutionary.
To take them off without makeup wipes, apply a heavy layer of chapstick overtop and rub off with a tissue a few times.

I really enjoy the vinyl lipsticks, and I have a special fondness for the vinyl series because they’re much less drying on my lips compared to other formulas. The glossy finish feels luxurious and provides a stunning, long-lasting look that I absolutely love. I must confess, I still enjoy this matte black shade, even though it isn’t the vinyl black. Occasionally, it does leave my lips feeling a bit chapped. However, I appreciate how easy it is to apply since it goes on smoothly without the messiness or breakage that often comes with regular lipsticks. With my nice cupid’s bow, I feel like I’m painting the shape of my lips instead of worrying about it smudging everywhere. Other lipsticks I’ve tried tend to spread and spill to the sides, even when I use just a little bit or try various tricks to keep it neat.
One downside of both the vinyl and the Superstay lipstick lines is how quickly they run out, which can be quite frustrating. I find myself wishing that Maybelline would dive into creating a unique gothic-inspired makeup collection within the vinyl series. Just think of the possibilities—a range that boasts deep, dramatic shades and edgy packaging that truly embodies the gothic aesthetic. I would be first in line to buy such a collection!
There are so many people in the gothic, emo, punk, and alternative communities who feel the same way. Finding quality makeup that resonates with our styles can be quite a challenge. It would be amazing to see a brand as popular as Maybelline tap into this market and offer options that reflect our unique tastes and preferences.

I have lived most of my life never wearing lipstick. I am absolutely in love with this lipstick! Yes, it is sticky before it dries. I recommend applying, blot, and then fan dry or use a blow dryer for a moment. It is VERY soft and buttery upon application and doesn’t dry out your lips. Which, can be a major issue with all day lipsticks. This will no doubt stay while you’re drinking and eating. It lasts ALL DAY LONG! I love this product and will definitely be buying more colors!! I am wearing these colors under LED white lighting at its highest setting. True color!
