All seeds germinated. 🙂

So, the varieties on each seed bag label do not match what’s on the back of the product. Some of them do, some of them don’t. One is like “gorgeous” and that’s it, that doesn’t correspond to the varieties on the back.
These do not come already cold stratified like most seeds do. You will have to put them in the fridge in something lightly damp for several weeks in order to get them to easily germinate and sprout.
I also have concerns with the “blood red” variety. I think that might be referring to Mexican milkweed, which a lot of gardeners don’t plant anymore because it makes butterflies more susceptible to a certain pathogen that seems to have co-evolved with the variety. It can also bloom too late in the season & cause butterflies to stick around too long when they should have already been migrating.
I would grow these inside before trusting that it’s a good species to actually put in the ground.

Great organization and arrived the day after ordering. There wasn’t much milkweed available this year for the Monarchs, so I’m going to plant a ton for next year. Hoping for the best.

I was surprised at how few seeds there are in each pack, but there is a good selection of milkweed colors. We are planting them now, and will see how they do. More to come later.

I love the décor of the packaging. I think it’s just really well done. In addition, I have not planted the seeds yet. I’m waiting till spring for a butterfly garden. If you don’t know the monarchs are almost on the endangered species list, so please please please please buy a pack of these and plant them anywhere you can in your flower beds in your yard that they won’t be disturbed. The monarchs have to have this plant to survive, and we’re close to losing the monarch butterfly, so every plant helps, every person that plants seeds is helping keep them alive. Thank you, and Blessed Be

I planted them Dec 5th, they’ll go through their stratification phase and I can’t wait to see them bloom come spring. All 6 packs of seeds were almost busting with seeds!
