I bought this product on sale this summer as an alternative to Starbucks instant tubes. Super handy for camping. It was much cheaper than Starbucks until I discovered you need 2-3 tubes for a regular sized cup of coffee. Flavour is good but will try something else next summer or will just go back to Starbucks.

I had to drastically cut back on coffee and these little single serving tubes allow me to restrict myself to one cup of coffee and there’s no need to use a coffee maker. It tastes good and you can’t tell it isn’t brewed. Just mix it into hot water. Doesn’t make me jittery either. Great for camping or keeping in your car or bag for coffee emergencies!

We are in the middle of a remodel with no kitchen. We had been limping along with an 8 year old k cup machine that was on its last leg. It bit the dust on us and I began searching for coffee alternatives that were instant. I came upon this coffee and after reading the reviews I was intrigued. I took a chance and ordered a big box. It came quickly and relieved our coffee woes.
When we made it I mixed a single pack with water which appears like it’s made for a 6 or 8 oz cup and I liked it. In fact it’s mellow enough that I drink it black and yet packs just enough flavor to keep you coming back.
The caffeine is there in enough abundance to get you going on a cold start kind of morning but you might need another pack in your cup for a tough day. Wakes you up and the little packs let you choose how much you need.
I put 2 packs in a quart jar and drink cold and black most days. I’ll have another one in the afternoon which keeps me going.
It mixes well even into cold water without a utensil. Just swirl it around wait a couple minutes swirl again and it’s done. Good cup of coffee and so effortless.
As for the organic label, it tastes very clean. I don’t doubt it’s organic. There’s no off flavors like you get from cheap canned coffee. No funk like the old dirty beans used in big red plastic bins you find at every grocery store. Just clean simple coffee. Way better than tasters choice not even in the same category. Very similar in quality to the instant stuff I’ve had from Starbucks but not as much flavor as some of the bold rich blends they have.
A true gem of a find on Amazon in this throw away fake plastic world. Something that tastes good is often hard to find. Look no further for your instant coffee needs.

Tastes pretty good and dissolves very easily, but I find that one packet just isn’t enough in a normal sized mug of coffee. I don’t consider myself someone who has to have an extremely strong cup of coffee, but one packet made a weak and watery cup. Two packets was borderline too much — the coffee tasted a bit sour. So the value for the price is decent, if you like weak coffee, but I’d go through 25 packets pretty fast if I had to use two every time.

NYT did a great review of instant coffees, and I share their assessments of this being the best tasting coffee at a very affordable price point. It DOES taste even better/richer with a little more time steeping. The aroma is mesmerizing and a little crema on top just punctuates the experience.
We normally grind our coffee beans in a conical burr machine just before making drip or pour-over, but I needed something more single-serve (non-Keurig style) while my partner was away and I recalled some great instants from my time traveling in NZ, so researched some options and gave Mount Hagen a try. Beyond my expectations on the very first cup and quite affordable.

Just black it still has a hint of that freeze-dried taste but if you add anything like cream or flavoring it is delicious. I’ve been using it lately with a frother and a little sugar to make Greek Frappe.

i have been a “coffee snob” since college – MANY YEARS AGO! That said, I have used Starbucks, and many drive up coffee spots. They all irritated my IBS! I was tired of waiting before heading out the door because of the “natural” side effects of most coffee’s. A friend (& a Dr.) recommended this brand while on vacation. I never tried freeze dried coffee. My perception had always been “that’s what my grandparent’s always used” and lacked in taste and freshness. I was the person that always purchased fresh coffee beans and ground them the morning of drinking coffee, hence, “coffee snob” as friends and family stated.
I was beyond surprised at this delightful, aromatic and fresh tasting coffee! The other coffee’s mentioned above always had a bitter or burnt taste. I would always add more sugar and creamer to offset the others which added calories and more sugar than needed just for counteraction. I use 1 packet per 8 ounce with a pinch of creamer and honey. It is better than any coffee I have had before – that is saying something. If I need more of a pick-me-up, I will put 2 packs in with about 12-14 ounces of hot water. I do use a kettle that heats up to boiling in less than a minute. The time saving of waiting for the coffee to finish brewing is another plus.
I also was aware some were also sprayed with pesticides. I was always worried about this in particular due to the health implications. In my opinion, it is never too late to improve one’s health via nutrition. This brand is certified USDA organic. One taste and you can tell the difference between this coffee and others not organic.
The other wonderful benefit is the ease of travel. It goes with me camping, vacationing or on work trips. This also offsets with my ability to “get out the door” quicker and not having the many restroom trips. There is absolutely zero negative effects on my bowels (no flip flopping or bubble guts). This goes without saying I get all the benefits of amazing coffee, ease of packets for travel and zero side effects with IBS irritation. 10/10 recommend!

If anyone tells you instant coffee tastes *good* they’re lying. It’s instant coffee. There’s only so high it can punch.
But this one punches as high as a freeze-dried instant coffee could hope for. It is passable. I don’t mind having or serving it. It’s equivalent to budget K-Cups in taste. This is the highest praise I can grant instant coffee.
Aside from taste, the kick is good, and the packaging looks nice and the little packets are very high quality. I wasn’t worried about it looking tacky or breaking/spilling in my travel bags.

It’s instant. Let’s just get that out of the way. It isn’t as good as freshly brewed coffee, it’s not even close. I don’t drink this every day and never will.
That said, sometimes you need something quick and easy and portable. I’ve tried brewing coffee while camping and it just isn’t worth it for me. I’ve traveled and scrambled to find coffee every morning (and early afternoon–I normally have 2 cups a day) and it’s a nuisance. I end up drinking terrible hotel K-cup coffee or worse.
So there is a place for instant, and this is a pretty good instant coffee that doesn’t break the bank. I take this when traveling and it does the job without being nasty like most instants. I find a dose of two sticks in a largish mug (maybe 12 to 14 oz of hot water?) is about right.
A few months ago I traveled to England for a few weeks, and brewed filter coffee is really hard to come by. It’s all Americanos, and I just don’t like the taste of Americanos. I tried all manner of local chains and artisan shops, I tried the golden arches, I tried the mermaid place, and even those American institutions didn’t have basic American style filter coffee. With the exception of a nice shop in Cambridge, the best coffee I had in all of England and Scotland was the Mount Hagen instant that I brought with me.

Honestly it was a seriously surprisingly good cup of coffee. I would highly recommend them for people on the go. Keep a couple in my purse and car. It’s a great caffeine lift, almost espresso good. Not bitter or acidic like some and because of the freez drying it’s good to the last drop and you won’t find a single ground left, it all rehydrates!

I think this coffee is fine, as described. But not great, I’ve tasted better instant coffee. There’s not a lot of flavor, basic coffee taste. As other reviewers noted it will be weak if you use more than 5 oz water. I’m using it for an add-in to protein shakes, so it should do the trick, but I’m looking for one that has more subtle flavors for an instant cup of hot coffee.

Tried to give this 2 stars, but Amazon is only allowing this item to receive 3, 4, or 5 stars. Found that odd. Anyway, I had high hopes for this coffee and was looking forward to receiving and trying. Right away I noticed how little coffee is in each packet. Using a standard size coffee cup yielded a very weak cup of coffee. Very disappointed. I couldn’t even judge the flavor adequately since it was so weak. It requires using 2 packets to make a normal strength cup of coffee. I’ll be burning through this box of 25 in no time. Won’t be buying again.
