The cards are amazing. The cards I would give five stars. They are quite large but beautiful. My problem is I ordered a new deck and Amazon sent me a used one so I’m giving this three stars because I find that a bit annoying because they charged me for a new deck and gave me a used one.

I agree with all the good things that everyone has said about this deck.
This is my favorite mass market Ciro deck,so far.
Kudos to HPB,for marking down the cost and listing this item as used- good, when it was really new and sealed.

Finally! Llewellyn has done something different with one of their tarot deck releases. I was pleasantly surprised when I unboxed this deck that the card size was bigger than usual. This is nice because Ciro Marchetti’s art is quite detailed, so it’s nice to be able to see it in this size. (In the picture, I compare it with Gilded Tarot Royale, which is their standard tarot size.) I wish Llewellyn would do this for some of their other decks. Ciro’s Legacy of the Devine would be a nice candidate, as well as the Shadowscapes Tarot. Would be great to see that deck in a bigger size, preferably borderless! Even the titles on this deck are done differently than their usual. Everything except the courts and aces uses roman numerals. It’s easy to identify the different suits, but this might be a challenge for some beginners.
Even the guidebook is different than Llewellyn’s usual. I believe they reproduced the indie version. As for the card stock, it’s the same card stock Llewellyn has used for the last few years, just in a bigger size. I like this card stock when there are no production errors (like no lamination on one side of some cards), which is thankfully the case here. I have bigger hands so I can riffle shuffle it just fine. Overhand shuffling is more of a problem, though, but still workable. My first reading with the deck was spot on. This deck also comes in a muted version, same size I believe just a smaller box with no book. The muted version does have a different card stock. It’s matte and seems to clump together from the video reviews I’ve seen. I prefer colorful decks, so I don’t feel the need to own a muted version of this one. (The muted edition also misidentifies the Nine of Wands as “0” instead of “IX” on the card, I believe. The regular version doesn’t contain this mistake.)
As for any negatives, there aren’t many. The art is beautiful, but I do wish the Hebrew letters in the majors weren’t so prominent. They detract from the art in some of the cards, in my opinion. If they have to be there, I wish they’d be more well integrated into some of the artwork (the Hebrew letter on the Star card seems tacked on, for example). It’s also disappointing to see that the guidebook author’s name, Lee Bursten, is misspelled on the book cover as “Lee Burston.” Llewellyn’s editorial team should definitely have caught that one! Also, while it’s nice that the roman numerals on the cards are color coded based on the suit, some of the colors chosen don’t really go well with some of the cards.
Overall, I’m pleasantly surprised by this release. I hope Llewellyn keeps changing things up in the future!

A very colourful and well printed deck by Marchetti, one of his beautiful works of tarot. These cards are larger than the usual RWS decks but they have a lot of symbolism on them and they’re lovely to shuffle. Card stock is solid and the guidebook is thick and well written, presented in a strong magnetic box. Simply wonderful to work with.

I absolutely love this tarot deck. I have several of the indie version. This is hands down my favorite artist. The main difference between the indie version and the mass market edition is that the mass market edition is not gilded, and it is bigger. Also, the images are brighter and more crisp, to me. In terms of the thickness, it feels the same to me. The indie version I think is more laminated and that gives it more of a thicker feel. It is absolutely worth it, and I hope everyone enjoys this gorgeous deck as much as I do.

A lovely deck that doesn’t stray too far from accepted imagery for cards (thankfully!). I HAD to have the colorful not muted. The suits are not on the cards — which is disconcerting at first, but i know I will get used to this. I have other decks by the artist, really talented.

I have a lot of Ciro Marchetti decks and they’re typically beautiful and functional.
This is not one of them.
The cards are a large format and very difficult to shuffle. I don’t have small hands and still struggle to use them. They also have a shiny coat on them making them extra slippery.
I’ve only had the deck for a couple days and a card already has a tear in the side from shuffling. They’ll probably be retired early.
Very frustrating considering his work is generally awesome. The artwork on these is a bit more collage like and harder for me to connect with.
Advise you to look at them in a store first or consider one of his other decks.

Unfortunately, I did not research this deck before purchasing it. I saw a glimpse of the art on some of the cards, like the emperor, and assumed the deck would be just as stunning. The cards are too large and it makes it difficult to shuffle. I also find that some cards illustrations are difficult to read intuitively because some of the cards are not based off traditional RWS. I find myself always reaching for the guide book during my readings to understand the cards drawn, and the guide book is not much help either in my opinion. I am going to try to learn this deck since I already purchased it, but I feel I could have done without. Circo Marchetti has better decks.
