I did a taste test several years ago, where I bought 1-2 each of over a dozen types of apples, to see if there was a difference. Duh, of course there was. The lowest ranked one was a “red” apple, which was, as expected, mushy and bland. By comparison, this type, the Honeycrisp was magnificent: sweet, crunchy and less subject to bruises (in my experience, I see fewer bruised Honeycrisps than other brands). The other winner was the Pink Lady, sometimes called Cripps Pink Lady. The Honeycrisps are generally larger than the Pink Lady variety is. If you’re never had one, and wonder why I’m rambling on about an apple, for goodness sake, I’d suggest you try one and see what the fuss is about. I’d like them to cost less, but aside from the price, I have NO gripes about these at all.
Oh, just remembered, there’s another good one, called Rosy Glo or perhaps Ruby Glo (I see them so rarely I forget the correct name), which is again a sweet/crunchy apple, but it has a red colored inside. That would be 3rd out of 12-15 types, including Golden Delicious (good, but go mushy too quickly), Pippin/Green/Granny Smith apples (former favorite), Red Delicious (hardly, these are bottom of the proverbial barrel), Mcintosh/Macintosh (average), Braeburn (average), Jonathan (average), Gala (blah), Envy (average), Jazz (average), etc. I’m blanking on some of the others I’d tried. Picture it like this, best to worst: Honeycrisp>Pink Lady>Ruby Glo>Pippin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all the others. They’re that good.

Honeycrisp is a lite crunchy, sweet apple. Yummy

Sweet and juicy….by comparison to other varieties. Not as juicy and sweet as apples used to be. But …VERY expensive.

I used to only buy Fuji apples, but these honey-crisped apples are much better. They sent me three of the biggest, sweetest and fully ripe apples! I’m sure I’ll place another order!

Oh my gosh these apples are huge, it’s a meal all by itself. They are fresh and so delicious no one has apples like this except for Amazon. I always buy these from Amazon. Well worth the price. They are firm, crisp and so good.

these Honeycrisp apples are fantastic. I can always count on Amazon for fresh produce, and these did not disappoint. I usually shop at Walmart, but lately the produce quality there hasn’t been great, so I decided to treat myself—and I’m glad I did.
These apples are incredibly crisp and sweet, big in size, & noticeably fresher and better than what I’ve been getting elsewhere. The difference in quality really surprised me. If you love a Big, crunchy, juicy Honeycrisp, these are absolutely worth it. I’ll definitely be ordering them again. 🍎

Working from home, I don’t often like to disrupt productive hours to go out to the grocery store in the middle of the day. Going after work? Horrors! Lines / crowds; no thank you. My husband does a lot of the marketing, thankfully. He’s not one to pick up apples, unless I specifically ask for them. And he doesn’t always like to hunt for interesting varietals, like Honeycrisp.
I’m grateful that the Amazon shoppers can make that choice happen for me. Also nice that they offer organic options for many fruits and vegetables. Honeycrisp apples have a wonderfully crisp texture, as the name implies. They also straddle the line between sweet and tart very nicely. This type of apple has become one of my favorite flavors. The color is bright and cheerful, and the size is larger than many other varieties.
