MY THIRD TEA FROM THIS COMPANY!
Gosh it’s delicious. I’ve been craving lavender milk tea since visiting a tea house and drinking it with cake and fruits.
I got myself a new thermos with a tea infuser too, just to enjoy my tea wherever I want.
It’s delicious, the lavender is strong and so wonderfully floral. I wanna have it before bed and I’m sure I’ll sleep so well, I’m already sleepy but I’m at work 😅 my only regret is I forgot to bring macarons with me!

It has a wonderful, robust flavor. Better than other brands we have tried!

This has been a lovely addition to our refrigerator. I make 2 gallons at a time. 10 bags gives a lovely amount of flavor. Very pleased with quality, lake of caffeine and flavor
Wolfgang –
This is the best loose leaf English Breakfast Tea! It has a smooth pure flavor that doesn’t taste stale. I love to drink this in the morning with no cream or sugar. And, it also makes great kombucha!

I just had 2 cups of this tea. The tea is smooth and very pleasant to the taste. No after taste, and not too strong. At 1 pound of tea I’m going to have a long time of enjoying great tea. I will be brewing some for tonight at work to enjoy on the job and stay awake. Great tea, great taste, and great deal. I will certainly be buying this tea again in the future.

I’ve tried a few of these, so I figured I’d share for anyone curious.
• Assam: very good quality and reasonable for the price; one of my favorite
• Earl Grey: the bergamot is very strong; might be better with a lighter brewing
• English Breakfast: pretty good, but I’ve had better
• Irish Breakfast: very good; definitely one of my favorites; malty and rich; excellent with milk
• Lapsang Souchong: absolutely horrid; tastes like ashes from a campfire; I brewed it once because it was so bad
• Scottish Breakfast: I was hoping for the same level as the Irish Breakfast, but it’s not on par; very granular and a low to mid quality tea
• Yunnan: absolutely delicious; a strong contender for the best; much lighter and difficult to mess up; would make a good iced tea

They serve this tea at my daughters school, and I hear about it from her all the time: I finally reached out to the teacher and asked what it was. We found it! Ha
It’s so delicious, smells amazing, and easy to brew. The ingredients are perfect and fresh. Love this tea!!

2 years ago, I purchased Positively Tea’s Assam which is really nice stuff (definitely higher up on the quality compared to others) and at an amazing price. 1 pound of tea goes a long way, so now that I am out of Assam, I was in the market to buy more tea.
I really was torn between buying this Nilgiri tea or more Assam. Their Assam is highly rated/popular, and I know I love it. Plus it’s cheaper at $17.95 compared to the much less rated Nilgiri which is lower quality FBOP (broken) at $18.95. Nilgiri doesn’t have nearly as strong a name as Assam does across all brands and borders. Perhaps it’s a supply/demand thing for the price/quality discrepancy. I don’t know. In any case, it was a bit of gamble investing into a pound of this Nilgiri.
I am really happy I bought this tea. It has a flavor I have never experienced in a tea. It isn’t as malty or quite as strong as Assam teas are, but it stands really high. The flavor is still pretty strong, but it has a pleasant spice to it that reminds me of coca cola. I brewed it for 5 minutes at just under boiling, and it had almost no bitterness. The company advertises that it goes perfectly as iced tea and I can already tell that this is the case.
Positively tea described this tea exactly as it came to me. I would definitely buy again and think it is for sure worth it to anyone who wants to try a new tea. I think this tea is highly underrated and worth exploring into.
Update** Summer 2022 Assam variety
I bought another bag of their Assam which I last purchased in 2018. Back then I loved it, and the new bag in 2022 is the same as far as I remember. Its got the classic strong malty flavor of an Assam tea but also quite bitter with lots of astringency compared to other Assam teas I have had. I enjoy it most served hot with no additions in a tiny cup. Very eligble for milk or sweetening if you’re in to that.
If you wish to brew this for iced tea, you definitely want to add a small dash of baking soda to it. I posted a picture of what it looks like with baking soda vs not. The baking soda prevents it from getting cloudy when cooled. It also curbs some of the bitterness which helps mellow it out. For me, it’s borderline undrinkable on its own without the baking soda (when served cold/over ice). Other tea brands/varieties hold up better when iced. If you’re looking at making iced tea, I’d recommend Vahdam English Breakfast loose leaf tea. It’s a step higher on quality/price and has a great flavor. The flavor actually improved the longer I had it. Also less bitter than this Assam.

Full body. Fresh, with zing, beautiful rich color and pleasant taste – good morning satisfaction in a cup!!
Why didn’t you guys name your company Positeavely??
Cheers!!

We’ve already ordered our second bag because we’re so happy with this tea. There’s no strange aftertaste, just a clean, delicious flavor. We also love that it’s organic, which is really important to us. We enjoy it most with milk and a little honey. A great everyday English breakfast tea!
McKenna Waysman –
Absolutely lovely tea, smells divine just in the bag. I bought this to make my own blend of earl grey, saffron, and bergamot tea and it is perfect! Lovely flavor and very fair price for the amount of tea and it being organic. This will be my go to for sure and I am curious to try any others offered by this brand.
William V –
Great taste, and price.
Bobba Fett –
Go loose leaf, bags are full of garbage. This will get you a premium cup of tea, for a non-premium price. The Irish breakfast is full on flavor and you’re sure to enjoy it at any time of the day.
Bambi –
Absolutely the best organic loose leaf tea for the price! Delicious and most people that have had my tea think it’s been sweetened a little! Highly recommend!
A. V. –
I suppose it’s my bad that I didn’t look more closely as to what the meaning of “creme” is or the list of ingredients, but it hardly crossed my mind that I needed to. I figured Earl Grey is Earl Grey. And now in hindsight, it takes an awful lot of searching in the product description that this tea is cut with cornflowers. My first suspicion of something wrong was when I opened the package and found that among the black tea leaves were lots of little blue flecks. The packaging is also blue and at first I thought some of the plastic package had broken off. It took me awahile to figure out it was cut, and that cornflowers can be blue.
I’m not clear why this was done other than to bulk up the package, but if it was done for taste – is that the “creme”? – then that would explain why this tea does NOT taste at all like Earl Grey tea. I won’t say it’s awful. After all how can something with no taste at all be awful. But it is kind of a shock that I can’t discern anything like Earl Grey.
And the punchline to it is that when I went to return it, it said it is non-returnable. I’ll probably end up throwing this out.

This is a very good decaf.

Recently I have been trying out various organic loose-leaf teas, especially ones with tropical flavors. I was kind of excited when I read about the Positively Tea brand because the flavor combinations sounded good and because they didn’t list “natural flavors” that I have found tend to be associated with unpleasant chemical-y tastes (even in supposedly organic brands).
I decided to try this flavor first, because it had some positive reviews. I figured it would give me a sense of the quality of the tea, so that I could decide if I wanted to try other items.
This tea does not have anything objectionable about it. It does not taste like chemicals to me, and the flavor tastes like the passion fruit that it says it’s supposed to be, and it does not taste unpleasant. You would think that would be a low bar, especially when buying organic, but there are a lot of bad products out there. Maybe it’s because certified organic products can have non-organic ingredients in them, I don’t know.
What is surprising is that the tea does not taste much like, um, tea. Even when I tried brewing it strong and let it sit for a long time, the black tea flavor is very mild. So much so that I feel like the thing to do is to mix it half and half with some black tea (e.g. from Frontier) to beef it up.
Probably organic tea in this price range should not be expected to be particularly good quality. Maybe if this company were to sell higher-quality tea with these kinds of flavors for somewhere under $30 a pound, rather than somewhere under $20 a pound, it would be of the quality that I would hope for. I find it hard to justify $15 for three ounces, but somewhat more money for better quality would be worth paying for.
Maybe Positively Tea should consider a premium line??
As comparison: Frontier (which I think of as baseline organic tea) makes a few flavored tea that I can get for $30-40 a pound online (though not so much on Amazon), and they are pretty good. But there is not enough flavor variety. I bought a couple of bags of Davidson’s and found it undrinkable, so at least Positively Tea seems better than that!
This seems to me to be similar to Numi (which admittedly I’ve only had in tea bags rather than loose leaf). Interesting flavors, but using lesser-quality tea. Not bad tea, just not very good tea. The tea quality of Mighty Leaf organic seems a smidge higher, though admittedly I’ve only had that in those little pouches and of course most of their interesting flavors are non-organic (with the non-organic being, in my recent experience, undrinkable too).
Apparently organic is especially important in tea because the pesticides are sprayed on the leaves and not washed off before the leaves are dried. And the selection of organic flavored loose-leaf teas is sparse enough that I might buy another flavor from this line and see what it’s like. i really think there’s a niche in the marketplace for a higher-quality tea at a slightly higher price to be considered though.

I’ve always preferred black tea, I love a lot of different, herbal teas and unique blends too. By far, this is the best tasting English breakfast tea I’ve ever had. One scoop in a 15 -ounce mug and I’m a happy girl.
Steep it in a pretty cup and stick your pinky out when sipping it, if you want to make it fancy. This tea is refined, soft and full of flavor.

I like the taste of this tea. It’s my go to for organic black tea.

Excellent tea

I have really been enjoying this tea! It is a very smooth non-bitter black tea, it is larger leaves and given area to rehydrate produces a dark red brown liqueur that with a drop of honey is very satisfying. I will order this tea again, and have been very pleased with this name brand overall! Thank you for selling such excellent tea!

There are few things I love more than my morning tea! I’ll even go so far as to say — in the winter, good English Breakfast tea is essential to my survival! Recently, I became concerned with the waste associated with using teabags everyday. Furthermore, there is some real concern about the chemicals contained in the bags, not to mention the tea leaves themselves. I used to be a loyal Bigelow’s customer, but their inconsistent answers about the source of their tea leaves has left me searching elsewhere.
Positively Tea’s English Breakfast tea is everything I was looking for — and then some! Not just a certified organic loose leaf tea at a fantastic cost, but also a brilliant, robust, full-bodied taste! It’s by far the best tea I’ve tasted. And a treat for the whole family every time it’s made!
The 1 lb version comes in a handy resealable plastic bag. We pour about 30 teaspoons into a smaller container for every day use, and storage the bag in the cabinet. Upon opening, you are hit by the bright aroma of the leaves and realize, “This is what tea is supposed to smell like!” The leaves have been dried in excellent, full-leaf quality. There are very few broken leaves, so there is a minimal amount of tea “dust” left in your cup. We use one teaspoon in a 20-oz teapot and brew for 3-5 minutes. You can fluctuate the amount slightly for the strength you desire. We tend to brew lighter in the afternoon to drink plain and then brew a stronger strength after dinner to drink with a spot of milk (and perhaps a bit of sweets!).
With quality like this product, I am happy to continue to support this company and will extend the recommendation to my fellow tea-drinkers. Keep up the fantastic work, Positively Tea!

This is an outstanding method of “waking up” every morning. Unlike other loose leaf teas, this one has a mild taste but the presentation after the first sip is worthwhile, that is, extraordinary. I recommend it highly, with the right tea ball, of course, for proper immersion.

It is hard to find organic green rooibus that is looseleaf and in bulk. This tea is delicious. My favorite way to prepare it is with a bit of sugar and cream after I’ve whipped it a bit. It’s very satisfying – and gives me the same satisfaction that coffee does but without any caffeine. I will continue buying. Great quality and price.

Great full-bodied English Breakfast tea. No discernible bitterness. Full-bodied with good medium malty flavor and an earthy finish. Not as malty as the Assam, but darker and slightly more tannic. Not as full-bodied as the Irish Breakfast.
My recommendation for brewing (I like my tea strong and full-bodied with a bit of sweetener and milk, Indian or English style): 1 level teaspoon per 8 fl oz of filtered water that has been brought JUST to the boil. Put into a large brewing vessel like the Teavana Perfect Tea Maker http://www.amazon.com/Teavana-PerfecTea-Tea-Maker-16oz/dp/B004X7DIHI/
Steep no longer than 3 minutes and dispense into a big mug that has been warmed. Add milk and sweetener to taste – a great way to start any day! 🙂
Some people like to use less tea and brew for a longer time, but this will make fore a much more bitter and less flavorful cup of tea

This is a healthy dose of morning caffeine at a reasonable price. A nice alternative to tea bags that are said to contain microplastics.
