    Bought this to help us clean our dog’s teeth. It didn’t really work that well and seemed too slip around a lot. You have to hold on to it the whole time, or it falls out. Makes it kind of hard to do if you are the only one cleaning the dog’s teeth. Only try using at once and haven’t been able to use it again.

    My little dog is not cooperative with teeth or nails. This mouth opener has helped me to try to brush my dogs teeth, however, he still can get his mouth closed because he moves his head from side to side so he has to be swaddled also. It might work better with a more cooperative dog. The idea is good just not for my dog.

    It’s taking some training to get my Labrador comfortable with holding it in his mouth, but I’m making progress and belief this will be a valuable tool. I just think it’s a tad small for his large mouth. I bought the medium because there wasn’t a size Large available. I reached out to the company, and they said they are working on developing a size Large. I recommend this to everyone that can take time to train their pup to become familiar and comfortable with it. I’m taking off two stars because of the time it takes to train for the product’s safe use and that there wasn’t yet a larger size for my dog.

    Trop petit pour gueule de mon caniche royal et peu utile en fait. Retourné et pas racheté un autre. Je peux brosser les dents sans cela de façon efficace

    This thing is a life saver! Howard hates when I hold his mouth open to brush and usually resists me. With this I’m able to use one hand to hold it between the top and bottom molers and he just keeps chomping on that. He still doesn’t like it but it makes brushing a breeze.

    Tips for using:

    Sit the dog down in a corner, and stand above them behind the two front shoulders, facing the same direction as the dog. Pinch your legs together holding them in place. Place the gag in their mouth and using the gagging hand, strongly grab the entirety of the muzzle top and bottom, and hold it shut. You should be able to brush both sides from there if they are amicable. I used this gag to scale the carnassial teeth and K9’s of plaque with a dental pick. Worked fantastic, great access because of this nifty little piece of silicone.

    If the dog is less than receptive, you can use two people and have the dog in sternal recumbency, or if you are alone, press the dog’s face firmly against your thigh opposite to the gagging hand.

    I used this method to effectively scale the teeth of a blue heeler who’s never been trained to have her inner mouth manipulated. You can, too.

    My corgi normally lets me brush her teeth. Thought this would enable me to get the back teeth. It didn’t sadly. I feel like the flat end of mechanism that goes in the mouth is way too big. It needs to be a bit more curved to match the inside of a dogs mouth. Maybe if this was used for a Lab, it’d be perfect but not for my 35lb doggy.

    I really wanted to like this product, but it kept slipping out of my dog’s mouth. Not sure if it was the product’s design or my inability to use it properly, but it didn’t work for me.

    Doesn’t really work. You get it in and then you have to hold the dogs snout closed or they just move it out of place.
