My vet flagged tartar last year, so I started using ProDen PlaqueOff daily along with brushing (Virbac toothpaste) and a water additive. For months, nothing seemed to change, but I kept going for prevention.

Around month six, I noticed a small crack in the tartar; the next day, most of it lifted off easily with my nail, revealing a smooth, healthy tooth. There’s still a bit left, but I’m letting PlaqueOff finish the job.

Don’t give up too soon. PlaqueOff works quietly over time and really helps brushing make a difference.

ProDen PlaqueOff has made a huge difference for my dog’s teeth and breath. Within a few weeks of adding it to her food, I noticed her teeth looking cleaner and her breath smelling much fresher. She doesn’t even notice it’s there, which makes it so easy to use — no wrestling with toothbrushes or special treats.

The product is made with natural ingredients, and I love that it supports overall dental health, not just freshening breath. My vet has even commented on how much better her teeth look since we started using it.

If you’re looking for a simple, effective way to help prevent plaque and tartar buildup, this is absolutely worth it. It’s now part of my dog’s daily routine, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I was skeptical at first, we’ve been using this since May and the difference is very noticeable! My dog had really bad plaque and tartar on his canine teeth, now one of his canines is completely clean! You wouldn’t be able to tell it was there before! It’s so easy to use I just add it to his food haven’t noticed any adverse reaction to it. Does smell pretty fish but it definitely helps his breath too! I will continue purchasing this product.

I was skeptical initially but it does actually work. It takes time and needs to be used regularly. I use the powder once daily in my dogs food and I’ve been able to see the difference in the teeth. My dog breathe has not completely gone but has reduced. The rear teeth are taking the longest to clean but you still have to brush their teeth.

Our senior mini-dachshund had a bad reaction under anesthesia during her most recent dental cleaning about 8 months ago. Her vet recommended that we no longer subject her to anesthesia unless it is an emergency. That means no more dental cleanings. Six months later she was developing yellow staining and tartar buildup on her teeth again and her breath was horrid. She was uncooperative about allowing me to brush her teeth or manually scrape away tartar. I was skeptical about this product but decided to try it anyway as I don’t want to allow her to develop dental problems. It has only been 5 weeks since I started adding it to her food and the improvement in her teeth and breath is remarkable. Her teeth are once again white with no trace of yellow and the crusty ring of tartar that was beginning to form at the base of her teeth has completely disappeared. She did not react to the powder being in her food and she licks any remaining powder out of the bottom of the bowl when she’s done eating so I guess she likes the taste. She has not experienced any nausea or digestive issues. In our case this product has worked as advertised to clean our dog’s teeth with no negative effects.

Does a great job on my dogs teeth! And she doesn’t seen to know I sprinkled it on her wet food. My vet was very pleased with the condition of her teeth after using PlaqueOff. I highly recommend this product.

[Edit] updating review; although this did not work for my dogs, seller was very kind to give me a refund

Do not buy for your dog! My two dogs used it twice and they both threw up twice shortly after. (All their other food is the same, this is the only addition to her diet).

We have used this product in our 3 yo greyhound’s food for over a year (along with brushing her teeth regularly, and taking her in for her yearly dental cleaning), but have noticed no difference in the amount of build-up on her teeth or in her bad breath. We followed the directions for a dog her size (she’s 65lbs), and used two scoops a day in her food. As other reviewers have stated, greyhounds have notoriously bad breath and dental problems, so maybe that could account for the product’s ineffectiveness?

But that’s not even my biggest complaint with this product.

My biggest issue is that I believe this product caused excessive shedding, dandruff, and other hypothyroid-like symptoms in my greyhound. The breed typically has low thyroid function already, and there is debate on whether or not it should be treated with medication. Unfortunately, our girl was shedding so excessively that she was beginning to bald all over her body (not just the hind quarters). Her belly also went from being pink to a near black color. I took her into the vet, tested her for hypothyroidism, and her t4 levels came back extremely low — even for a greyhound — and we had to start her on a synthetic hormone. She was only 2 yos at the time of this diagnosis, which is extremely young for a dog to already be treated for under active thyroid.

She was on the synthetic hormone for 7 months, and there was no difference in her shedding, dandruff, or the color of her stomach. In fact, it worsened. Two months ago, I took her back in for more testing. It appeared the synthetic hormone was working, so there shouldn’t be any reason for her continued symptoms. The vet was actually concerned that increasing her dosage would shift her into hyPERthyroidism based on her blood panel results.

I did some reading and decided to stop giving her PlaqueOff. She has now been off of it for a month. Within two weeks, her stomach changed back to her normal pink color, she is not only NOT shedding, but her coat is shiny and growing back in, and there is NO dry skin or dandruff.

I can’t prove this product caused hypothyroidism or hypothyroid-like symptoms in my greyhound, but I can tell you that enough improved once I removed PlaqueOff from her food, that I’m beginning to wonder if she even truly has an under active thyroid. I plan on taking her into the vet soon to talk about this and possibly have more t4 panels taken.

Another side note: Our greyhound has also routinely had issues with diarrhea and extremely soft stools. We tried feeding her Kirkland’s Signature grain-free dog food — bouts of diarrhea continued. Then we tried Taste of the Wild – bouts of diarrhea continued. Merrick — bouts of diarrhea continued. Finally, after we stopped giving her off PlaqueOff she has healthy stools.

I hope this isn’t a common problem, but if it is, I hope this review helps anyone else who is experiencing similar symptoms in their dog.

This powder working wonders for my rescues breathe and teeth.

Her breath literally smelled like POOP.
After a week of using the difference was huge! Now after 3 months, I’m fully sold and will repurchase.

Now I give her a scoop a day and it’s still working.

Like all new things I want her to try, for the first couple days I gave her a tiny sprinkle. And gradually went up in amount. I saw some reviews about upset stomach and diarrhea but I think giving her a tiny bit at a time helped us avoid all that. Now her breath smells like normal dog breath and her teeth are getting cleaner and cleaner.

I highly recommend, but make sure to start off with a small amount to see how your pup will tolerate it.

We purchased this dental powder with the intention of supporting our dog’s oral health, but shortly after starting it, she became extremely ill. Based on timing and symptoms, and after ruling out other changes, we strongly believe this product contributed to her developing pancreatitis.

Our dog experienced severe vomiting, prolonged diarrhea, and even blood in her stool. She was visibly uncomfortable and very sick for days. We had to visit the vet multiple times, where she required several injections and medications. This has been both emotionally distressing and financially costly.

It has now been almost two weeks, and she is still not fully recovered. She cannot return to her normal food and is currently limited to a bland chicken-and-rice diet under veterinary guidance.

What’s most alarming is that after experiencing this, we looked back at recent customer reviews and noticed several others describing very similar symptoms and reactions in their dogs. Seeing repeated reports like this is extremely concerning and raises serious questions about the safety of this product.

To make matters worse, there appears to be no option for a refund despite the potential health risks and veterinary expenses incurred.

We would STRONGLY urge pet owners to proceed with extreme caution. No dental benefit is worth putting your dog’s health at risk.

I don’t know if this really helps my cat’s teeth or not because she won’t eat when I add a bit of this. (Her sister eats it fine, but she’s not the one with tartar). It does help control her eating– I sprinkle it over her sister’s food and that really slows down the chunky cat eating hers then stealing her sister’s food. It does not smell like it would taste very good. But the one cat eats it fine. The one who I bought it for won’t touch it

This is great if your dog needs to get a cleaning. I would highly recommend trying this before getting your dog for a cleaning (always talk to your vet first before use for safety). My dogs teeth and breath was just awful and it worked very well for her. Even her vet said that her teeth looks great. Taste wise also great as my dog is a peaky eater and she had no problem with it at all.

Get this as soon as possible for your dog . I’ve been using this on my miniature schnauzers for 2 weeks and was just at the vet today checking her teeth for me and actually had a huge piece of plaque pop off one of her teeth. Underneath was a white tooth. I couldn’t believe my eyes . The vet was surprised as well. She said well keep using it it’s doing great. I sprinkle it on dry food and put a little coconut oil on as well and they eat it up with no digestive issues. I will definitely be using this forever . Wish I could get a picture but she’s tired of me looking at her mouth 😆

Can’t wait for my next order!! We Love This Product — Real Results for All 3 Dogs
We’ve been using this daily with our three dogs, and the improvement has been amazing. 3 months and their teeth look at least 50% better, and their breath is noticeably fresher. The best part is how easy it is — no brushing, no stress, just sprinkle it on their food once a day.
I love that it’s a pure seaweed formula with no artificial additives. It’s 100% natural and safe for both dogs and cats, which gave us peace of mind. It works by targeting the bacteria that cause bad breath instead of just masking it, and we started seeing results within a few weeks.
Extra bonus: their water bowls aren’t slimy anymore after they drink, which really says a lot about how well this works.
No more wrestling with toothbrushes or struggling to clean teeth. This has made oral care simple and effective, and our dogs don’t even notice it in their food. Highly recommend!

This was a changer for my pack. I have been using for more than a month, no more breath concerns I do not seem to sense any odor with the product nor do the dogs. They are ok with the taste and it seems very easy to digest. I have noticed a slow change in one dog who has always had a tartar and plaque problem.

I bought this based on my vet’s recommendations. I have 3 chi mixes so their teeth are always an issue. I got tired of getting bit and fighting tgem with brushing. So far (I’ve been using for about 1-1/2 months) it looks like their teeth are significantly improved with less tartar on them! I sprinkle 1 scoop daily on their breakfast. They dont seem to notice it and ive had no digestive issues. The only thing I dont like is the scoop is TINY! I had to pry it out of the bottle and am afraid to put it back in for fear of not getting it out again. Also, the handle is pretty short so its hard when you get to the bottom of the bottle to scoop product out. This is the only reason I took 1 star away. Highly recommend, just be aware of the scoop issues.

My cat has gingivitis on her upper front incisors and some redness around her upper fangs– some mild to moderate redness all over. She might be missing one of her small front teeth. We booked her in for a dental vet visit, but I was worried that she was in pain, as she was sleeping a lot and licking at her front teeth sometimes. She’s only 3 years old but has had red gums ever since we adopted her at 9 mo old.
I bought this plaque-off powder wondering if it would actually do anything because some commenters were leaving miraculous reviews like “Plaque is falling off my dog’s teeth” which seems truly unbelievable. However I decided to give it a shot.

Use as described on the bottle– the scoop is extremely small and for a cat they only need 1 scoop per day. It can be added to wet or dry food, I have been mixing 1/4 to 1/3 scoop per wet food meal, or sprinkling just a little bit on top of dry food and then sprinkling water on, to help it stick. Although my cat is VERY picky, she didn’t reject the flavor of the powder at all (it appears to just be kelp, so smells like furikake or nori) and ate normally.

As for results: It takes time to work, so don’t be impatient. After about 5 days I began to see a reduction in swelling and redness in her gums– they had been so inflamed that there were microdroplets of blood along the tooth line, and this reduced dramatically in about a week. The vet agreed she had inflammation and she is scheduled for a full cleaning, but in the meanwhile we are continuing the Plaque off Powder in her food. We have two cats (the other has no tooth issues at all), and because they tend to swap food bowls while eating, we are putting the same amount of powder in each bowl of food so each cat is getting the same dose roughly.

Neither has had any stomach issues (which I would suspect would indicate an allergy), or any other intolerance to the powder. The cat with gingivitis has continued to show reduced redness, though her gums are not back to smooth pink yet, they are CLEARLY improved and she is more energetic and happy, which shows the pain is reduced as well. For the price I certainly have to recommend this as a daily additive.

[Edit] For those having trouble retrieving the scoop from the tiny bottle, I put a piece of tape on the outside and taped the scoop on the outer part of the bottle, leaving a little ‘slot’ for the scoop handle to go in. You could also use a rubber band!

Results of my cat’s cleaning and dental operation: She needed to have 2 premolars extracted just on one side, which had probably been a problem ever since we adopted her– her other teeth are all fine! I continue giving the ProDen to both cats as a preventative measure because they seem to have absolutely no problem with it, and it’s better to be proactive!

This worked from first serving. The dogs love it, and we love that their breathe isnt horrible anymore.

I guess it works for helping prevent plaque buildup…but smells awful and does not help with dogs breath as it smells like fish.

As a VETERINARY PROFESSIONAL – This product is labeled by the VOHC which stands for VETERINARY ORAL HEALTH CARE which means VETERINARIANS approve the use of this product because it can work to help reduce tartar which is known to cause further dental problems in our industry.
I can’t express enough that this is worth trying for people who can’t and will not brush their cats or dogs teeth daily but can implement this in their daily intake. I use it on my 3 dogs and my cat.
I also can’t express enough that this product has not been linked to any major health issues for the use of it. Please consult with your veterinary professionals in guidance and help if you are finding negative reviews on products.
As the person below with the greyhound- Personally, I owned one. They are very sensitive breeds and also are very prone to a multitude of health issues. Dental disease is one of them. Any problems associated with your pets health I can promise you, was not linked to the product. As for taste, my cat eats it with her food dry or canned. They are the hardest of critters to trick. So it’s approved by my cat for taste. Smell, I can’t comment much because I don’t think it is potent enough. It’s worth using. Honest review from a veterinary professional.

If you’re even slightly considering, buy it. This product is going to save us thousands of dollars in cleanings and dental work for our dogs. Used it for one month and started seeing results, been using it for 6 and there is hardly any plaque on either of my dachshunds teeth. Worth every penny.
