I’ve been using Renew Life’s Florazyme Digestive Enzymes to help with occasional bloating and digestive discomfort. The combination of digestive enzymes and probiotics seemed like a good fit. I’ve noticed that I feel less bloated after eating which is a huge plus for me. They combine 18 plant-based enzymes with 3 billion CFU of probiotics, which means nothing to me. What I do know is that taking care of your gut health is important. The capsules are easy to take, and I appreciate that they are dairy-free and vegan. The price point seems quite reasonable given you get a 3-month supply. It’s a low-key solution that seems to be making a positive difference in my gut comfort and hopefully my overall gut health.

I like the combination of digestive enzymes and probiotics to assist with digestion and support my gut. The normal dosage is one capsule with or before a meal. Interestingly, you could also sprinkle it on food before consumption. Another way of taking it. The capsules are easy to swallow and noted no negative reactions or aftertaste. I find that this digestive enzyme is effective with digestion.

While this seems like a nice combination of enzymes and probiotics, it is definitely not for me, and I will explain why. When looking at the ingredient list, I would first note that they don’t give specific amounts of each of the enzymes, which is a warning sign to me that it may not contain as much of each enzyme as you might find in another product that is willing to list the exact amount of each. Many people who take digestive enzymes, including myself, have been told by their doctors to try avoiding the FODMAP foods, which is an extensive list and a difficult diet to follow strictly, but through trial and error you can often figure out which members of those foods groups is problematic for you. For me, like many others, I have discovered that the food ingredients within the oligosaccharides group (the letter O within FODMAP) is particularly problematic. Those oligosaccharides include things like onion, garlic, barley, Jerusalem artichoke, and inulin. It seems that the primary enzyme that is helpful for digesting these is alpha galactosidase and is found in Beano and many other digestive enzyme blends, including this product.
I was excited to give this product a try, and intentionally started it on a day where I had a meal that I typically tolerate fine and when I was having no symptoms. Over the upcoming several hours, I did develop gastrointestinal distress (I will leave out the details) and I now believe it was a side effect from this product, and I think it might be because the ingredients unfortunately include Jerusalem Artichoke extract specifically noted in the ingredient list to provide inulin. This is on the list of ingredients to avoid for those on a low FODMAP diet. If you are not familiar then a quick online search should provide plenty of good information (the Monash University site is an example of a good source of such information). The bottom line is that this product did not agree with me, made me feel worse, not better, and I am surprised to see inulin as an ingredient when there are other better tolerated prebiotic choices. This product might be fine for someone who knows that they tolerate inulin, but I would still prefer a product that lists the specific amounts of each enzyme. I will be sticking with my preferred product whichis one that I purchase here on Amazon, it is Enzymedica brand “Digest Gold +Probiotics” which I find helps me tolerate more foods, it does list out the amount of each enzyme, appears to have good amounts of each enzyme, and it does not appear to contain inulin. I hope some of this information might be helpful for you. I won’t be taking any more of this RenewLife product.

I started taking Renew Life Florazyme because I was constantly dealing with bloating and discomfort after meals, especially when eating dairy or heavier foods. Within days, I noticed a real shift—my digestion felt smoother, and that heavy, sluggish feeling was gone. The enzyme blend is strong enough to handle a wide range of foods, including proteins, fats, carbs, and fiber, and the 3 billion CFU of probiotics added an extra layer of gut support without causing any side effects. I love that it’s vegan and easy to take, with no weird taste or smell. For the price, it’s excellent value—especially considering how comprehensive and effective the formula is. It solved a problem I’d been putting up with for years, and now I won’t go without it.

This enzyme, pre, and pro supplement was something I wanted to try for my gut funk and occasional blockage, combining probiotics with upper GI and gut flora supporting ingredients in one. Each dose is one average-sized capsule that is easy to swallow with water. The supplement was great when taken with a meal and didn’t cause me bloating, bubbles, odd-flavored burps, or nausea.
After taking this for a week, I noticed my blockages becoming notably less intense, with also less ‘bubbly’ feelings down in the basement. Two weeks was when my ‘plumbing’ felt much smoother and I wasn’t straining or camping out on the loo as often. By the time I was done with the packs, I’d say that my plumbing feels about 90% what it was when I was back in my intestinal prime! This works!!! It’s a great value for a 3-in-one and effective on that ‘backed up’ feeling. A+!
