Works well and the vegan branding is just a label. It keeps the popping under control and makes bacon day a lot less messy.

The 13 inch size covers most pans and the silicone body wipes clean. The stainless handle has a full silicone cover for a steady, cool grip. The vented surface lets steam escape so food stays crisp, and it is dishwasher safe. Heat tolerance is strong at about 446 F, and it doubles as a quick strainer or cooling mat.

The silicone can pick up lint from towels and it is a bit flexible over very large pans. It also feels oversized on small skillets. Sturdy but lightweight to handle.

Overall this is a useful splatter screen that earns a spot in the drawer. Easy to clean, easy to use, and great value for daily cooking.

I’ve had a classic all-metal mesh splatter screen for many years. The mesh is falling out and parts are rusting. But since the metal mesh has much smaller holes than this silicone splatter screen, I was skeptical whether it would really prevent splatters as well as the metal mesh does because of the much larger holes. And I think it did a good job anyway.

I didn’t have a good scientific method to test it, and the nature of my first cooking method with this resulted in splatters around the skillet anyway because of having to remove the screen at various times. But I tried to gauge the screen’s effectiveness by looking at how much grease or oil had splattered through the holes and onto the _top_ of the silicone. After cooking a skillet of chicken breasts, the top still looked fairly clean.

It fits perfectly on top of my 12″ Lodge cast-iron skillet.

I really like how easy this is to clean by hand or in a dishwasher.

It’s easy to store, too, because the handle can fold in. But that folding handle has my one complaint about this splatter screen. You squeeze the sides of the handles to “unlock” its position before folding it. But those moving parts have nothing restricting their full movement across the small bar. Thus, as you can see in my second photo, usually only one side will move, leaving the handle still locked in place. That requires using both hands to unlock the handle: one hand to squeeze and unlock the handle, the other hand to hold the rest of this stationary so the two parts of the handle unlock properly. A simple way to fix this would have been to put a ridge or bump in the middle to prevent one side of the handle from sliding all the way to the other side.

This splatter guard immediately stood out because of its size. It is big enough to cover everything from large pots to cast iron skillets, and that makes it much more versatile than the smaller mesh guards I have used before. I tested it with both regular frying and with chorizo, which usually ruins a guard by clogging up the mesh. This one handled it without a problem. A quick rinse with soap and water cleared it off, and after a light wash it looked ready to use again.

It is not a mesh guard but a silicone pad with holes, which is actually an advantage. The holes let steam escape without building condensation, while the surface stops splatters completely. I like how light it feels, how durable it seems, and how easy it is to clean. Storage is the only challenge, since it takes up more room than average, but for me the performance makes the size worth it.

If you want one splatter guard that will cover just about any pan or pot in your kitchen, this is an excellent choice.

It fit perfectly on top of my largest pan. While not able to stop all oil/grease from getting onto my stove top, it significantly decreased the amount. Of the different splatter screens I’ve used before, they were either too porous thus stove was a mess anyways, or not enough to where it was steaming food and creating condensation so water getting back into pan. There is a slight steaming effect, but not to a point where the top of food was being cooked too. The after pic does show a decent amount of splatter on stovetop, but most of that is from when I needed to lift screen up and flip food. The after pic of the screen itself, you can see the splatter on top, so a little gets out and unfortunately because the holes are all the way to the edge almost, there’s gonna be some that gets on stove. The bottom of the guard has a good amount of grease on it with little to no condensation. The cleaning was very simple and easy. Wiped away the grease with a paper towel, then wash as normal.

The handle folds nicely against screen for storage. I like to use it at an angle (and not locked) when folded out, but it can be folded out to 180 degrees and locked in that position, which is actually better when cleaning.

The silicone feels nice and sturdy with a nice bounce to it. While not perfect (didn’t really wanna give five stars, but four felt too low too), this has been the best splatter screen I’ve used. At a $10 price point, I’d definitely recommend getting this.

Hard to reassemble. However, trim the filter all away around by a sliver. Then assemble is easier.

Great substitute for the metal ones. Dishwasher safe and doesn’t get hot like the mesh ones

Works! Threw in dishwasher, no worries about it rusting if I didn’t get it taken out right away. Handle nice, easy to handle. Worth paying more for something that will last longer than the regular thin wired ones that get bent out of shape so easily! Worked perfectly on my 12” lodge cast iron skillet! So much less grease to clean up!!

Thought this would be great for keeping the smell from fried foods out of the air. Nope. Comes with a couple of filters which is nice but be aware that it came with 2 inside the screen. Had a heck of a time figuring out how to get the filter out. One side has a rubber seal that you have to pry open to get at the filter. Foldable handle is nice.

I’m giving it a 5 star rating because of the folding handle, ease of cleaning and that it keeps spatters away. However, since it’s not like a window screen the condensation builds up on side that’s covering pan. So be careful when removing from pan as the hot condensation will run off

Great idea to cut down odors, and there doesn’t seem to be many that claim to do that. However there’s some plusses and minuses…

Plus–The carbon filter definitely cuts down on smells and aerosols, my wife is very sensitive to fried food smells.
Seems well made, the handle folds up for compact storage. It works ok without without the filter, but larger holes allow a little more splatter.
It comes with 3 filters, but I’m not sure how long the filters will last, or if they are washable. The silicone part probably is washable but haven’t washed it yet.

Minus- The top round piece that holds in the filter falls off easily while in use, and it is tricky to get back on. It also “bubbles” up in use, not a big issue but I’d rather it stay flat.
I don’t see any real advantage over a standard metal splatter if you don’t use the filter.
Won’t fit 11″ or larger pans, though the item description is clear on this

I love this splatter screen. I had a metal mesh one and this is a HUGE step up. It is so easy to clean and covers a large skillet with room to spare. I would definitely recommend this!

I have only used this 1x and immediately appreciated that it both
    1) fit my large frying pan
    2) did not melt and
    3) kept bacon spatter to a minimum.
I have been stacking 2 of these wimpy wire screens to achieve close to what this one accomplished.
I still had to clean with baking soda to eliminate smell, but always do the same with the wire ones, so, “of course”.

I’m getting into mediterranean cooking and this screen is very handy, not only because it folds. The best feature is that it’s so easy to clean because it’s made out of silicone. N
The net-type of splatter guards still allow for splatters to escape. Yuck!

This 13-inch splatter screen has become a daily staple in my kitchen. I use it all the time, and it does a fantastic job keeping grease off my stovetop while still letting steam escape.

One of my favorite features is how easy it is to clean. It rinses off quickly, and when I want a deeper clean, it goes right into the dishwasher and comes out looking great. No fuss at all.

I also love the foldable handle—it makes storage so simple. It fits flat in my drawer without taking up a bunch of space, which is a big plus in a busy kitchen.

I’ve been so happy with it that I’m planning to purchase a second one so I can always have one ready to go. If you cook regularly, this is definitely worth adding to your kitchen!
