   I didn’t expect this setup to make as much of a difference as it did, but it completely changed the feel of the bed. There are two layers working together here, and you can actually feel each one doing its job. The bottom layer is a purple memory foam pad that’s about three inches thick. It has that slow response feel where you press your hand into it and your handprint just stays there for a few seconds. It’s not stiff, but it’s not overly sinky either. It molds without swallowing you.

   On top of that is a gray quilted mattress topper that’s stuffed and adds a second layer of softness. That top layer takes away any of that direct memory foam feel and replaces it with more of a cushioned, bed-like surface. You still get the support underneath, but the top feels plush instead of dense. Together, it balances out really well.

   I put this on the guest bed where my dad is staying, and that’s where I really noticed the difference. He usually tosses and turns all night and never seems to get comfortable. After adding this, he slept straight through the night without waking up once and said it was the most comfortable bed he’s ever laid in. That alone told me everything I needed to know.

   I laid on it myself just to see if it was a fluke, and it wasn’t. You can feel your body settle in without pressure building up in your back or shoulders. It has that “you’re not moving once you get comfortable” kind of feel. Honestly, I have a memory foam setup on my own bed and this one feels better. I’ve already thought about sneaking into that room when he’s not using it.

   The gray topper has deep pockets, which helps it stay in place, especially with the extra thickness underneath. I originally tried to stretch it over both the mattress and box spring, which it can technically do, but then I realized I didn’t have sheets deep enough to go over everything. I ended up putting it just over the mattress with a standard fitted sheet, which works fine, but if you want full coverage, you’ll want deep pocket sheets to match the height.

   Overall, this setup doesn’t just make the bed softer, it makes it more comfortable in a way that actually helps you sleep better. It’s one of those upgrades you notice immediately the second you lay down.

   This topper has some upsides and some downsides. It is so hard that at 5:30pm the next day my back still hurts. If you are looking for firm, this is it. If you are looking for down alternative, not so much. The thickness and depth are there. The sizing and deep pockets are just fine, but the topper is fluffy but easily flattened. It just keeps the purple brick in place. Emphasis on brick. I am now using it to hold my original foam topper in place and it does that well. For me and my needs, it is not worth the cost but it does provide something deep enough to fit my sleep number bed that holds the original topper and keeps it from sleeping.

   I added this 4 inch dual layer mattress topper to a twin xl bed, and it made a noticeable difference right away. The combination of the 2 inch gel memory foam and the plush pillow top creates a really cozy, sink in feel without completely losing support. It’s especially nice after long days and definitely gives that ahhh moment when you lay down. The pillow top layer is super soft and fluffy, and I appreciate that it uses down alternative filling since it still feels luxurious without triggering allergies. The gel memory foam underneath helps with pressure relief, and I did notice less stiffness in the mornings. That said, it does sleep a little warmer than I expected, even with the gel layer. Not unbearable, but something to keep in mind if you tend to run hot. It also took a bit of time to fully expand after opening, and I had to fluff and adjust the top layer to get it sitting evenly.

   Overall, it’s a great upgrade if your mattress needs a comfort boost without replacing the whole thing. Cozy, supportive, and well worth it but just not perfect for hot sleepers.

   I’ve been away from home for a few months, staying with family and sleeping on a nice big sofa in the basement apartment. And still, I felt each cushion edge during the night, I slept through the night after after adding this incredible mattress topper. It arrived rolled up tight, and expanded quickly,

   I love the option of the cool gel topper, or the gel with the very soft and thick mattress pad over it. So it works for both hot and cool sleepers. The mattress pad is beautiful, and can be tucked under as I’ve been using, or completely cover a deep mattress with this topper. When I originally ordered it, I had planned to fold it away each morning. But it fits so well and looks so nice it isn’t necessary.

   This is a very high quality wonderful addition to any bed, and well worth the cost, I’ve used it for a week, and I wake refreshed every morning. Without achiness or back pain, and remember… I’m slipping on a sofa. This has changed everything!

   I was really excited to try out this dual layer mattress topper for an extra full size bed I have. I wasn’t expecting it to come with both the mattress pad cover and the memory foam topper, so that was a nice bonus. Both pieces arrived rolled up and vacuum-sealed. I opened the purple gel foam first and let it fully expand for 48 hours (the instructions recommend 24–72 hours), and it fluffed up nicely.

   When I opened the cover, I was surprised by how large it was, it has deep pockets, which is perfect since I always use a waterproof cover underneath for extra protection. I washed the cover before use, and it was definitely a heavy load, so next time I may take it to a laundromat to make sure it gets thoroughly cleaned.

   I also appreciate that the foam is CertiPUR-US certified and the fabric is OEKO-TEX certified, it gives me peace of mind knowing it’s made with safe, eco-friendly materials and free from harmful chemicals. The only downside is that I didn’t really notice much of a cooling effect from the gel foam, possibly because of the extra layers I have on the bed. Other than that, it’s very comfortable and a great addition overall.
