Kathryn –
I’ve bought this a couple of time now because it seems to work in helping to reduce plaque/tartar buildup from happening. I bought the orderless/tasteless one because my dog doesn’t like peanut butter and is pretty picky about his food/new foods. I was worried he’d still be able to smell or taste it and reject it. So the fact that he doesn’t even seem to realize it’s been added to his water is amazing! This was a product on a list my vet gave me of vet approved oral care products for dogs. I have a small dog who’s needed dental cleanings every 2 years since he’s been born (he’s only 6 years old now) even with the use of dental chews and teeth brushing. But at his last appointment it was the 2 year mark so I asked for an evaluation for a cleaning and this is the first time where they told me he didn’t need it and to check back next year (which would be 3 years since a cleaning)! I love not having to put him under anesthesia for his health and because it’s so expensive. So this is a great addition to his oral care routine that helps to protect his health and saves me money in the long run.

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an easy and brushless way to help stay on top of my dogs clean teeth is not that easy. The pump mechanism requires two hands to push down on making it extremely difficult to pump this onto my dogs teeth and gums. The only way I can use it is if I pump it on to a toothbrush first. On the plus it does not smell, and my dog doesn’t have a problem with the tasteless taste of it. For the pump alone I probably won’t buy this again.

It seems to work very well. Our Sealyham has not had any dental issues

Our dogs like this and it helped their breath

I really do see a difference in the brown tartar on her teeth. I was skeptical, but it does seem to work. The two dogs and one cat that shares the bowl are not having any side effects nor do they appear to have issue with the taste. My dog has very big teeth and does not like to have me brush her teeth so this in conjunction with her toothbrush bones seem to be doing the trick.
Your Fairy Godmother –
We used this daily in our dog’s water for 10 weeks straight and her breath still stinks like it did before using it. No change in her tartar/plaque buildup either. We do not recommend this. Don’t waste your money on this because it doesn’t work.

I have used this water additive for about 3 weeks now. My dogs do not seem to mind the taste and drink the water freely. I think they have a little less tarter on their teeth than before starting the product. I hope to see more results as time goes by.

We purchased this because our dog was having dental cleaning issues. It is so easy to add to her water bowl. She doesn’t act like she knows it’s even there. It hasn’t made her ill. The full effectiveness will be rated at the next vet appointment, but I like the ease of using it.

Dog: Small Breed, bad teeth and breath all his life (BUT HE SO CUTE THOUGH!!)
Truth: No smell (ie minty) and the dog (who is sooooooo picky) hasn’t detected it yet. Started using this in his water for 3 weeks now and his teeth are astounding. Not sure if this alone worked but I used this with other VOHC Approved products and the affects are impressive. I was told to help with his teeth health between dental cleanings to use a powder on his food every day, a water additive, Teeth brushing with enzyme toothpaste, and every other day a gentle but abrasive to tarter physical treat. But most importantly I discovered the products with the VOHC seal of approval, work the best. Just saying. Oh! and no issue regarding sensitive tummy problems that I have noticed!
*Animal was not harmed for picture. Just extremely irritated. 🙂

Our girl is a beagle mutt and apparently beagles are more prone to tartar build up. We were told she would need a teeth cleaning sooner than what is usually recommended.my vet gave me a list of items that are healthy, approved options so I chose this one from the list. The only change we made was adding in Skout’s Honor water additive and the next appointment they said her teeth look great! Will continue using!

My dogs love it. Been harped on by vet to keep them hydrated, not a problem now. Every time I squeeze the juice, they drink a lot!

Furbabies won’t drink water with this in it.
Kris Miller –
I put this in my dog and cats’ bowls. They did not hesitate to drink it , so I guess there really is no flavor that would bother them. 3 days is all it took for my 14 month old Shorkie’s breath to be better. A few more days and I smell nothing when she gets in my face as she likes to do. I’m going to order the larger bottle now.

We have mostly italian greyhounds who have notoriously poor teeth and frequent dental problems. While brushing every day is ideal, the canine resistance is real. This product definitely helps in that department. Super easy to use by just squirming directly into their water bowl. It is odorless and seems tasteless because it did not impact their consumption at all. And the best part – their teeth appear cleaner and their breath has absolutely improved! Definitely added this item to our regularly delivered doggy subscriptions!
Alex –
Our dog uses daily and drinks without any issues. Has helped with her breath and plaque

Zero taste…yep I tasted it before I gave it to my pets. I offered two bowls of water and they drank from either. No gastro events. Now to see if dental hygiene improves. So hoping!
Sandy Homon –
While it is to soon to tell if this will help with Scruffy’s tartar it definitely has helped his breath. We have only been using it about a week. I mix a 16 oz bottle and use it on his dry kibble as he will not readily drink the water so I am pretty sure he either can taste or smell it

It works great! My puppy doesn’t stop drinking her water with this in it, it has no taste in the water. And it keeps her teeth very clean and no bad breath. I love it.

Original review:
My picky pet could tell something was off with the water, without tasting it. Obviously not odor-free and flavorless as advertised. Refused to go near the water, even though I didn’t even put the recommended amount in at first, because I had tried others in the past and knew she was picky. Also, despite not even putting the full amount in my fountain, any water splashed by my other pet left a very sticky residue. Keep that in mind and ensure you have a mat down so your floors are safe. I have a Pet Libro silicone mat under the fountain, so my floors didn’t get sticky, but it was very odd.
Updated based on company’s quick response:
Despite being outside of the normal return window, the company stands by their products and wanted me to be happy. They issued a refund and simply asked that I donate the remainder of the product to a local shelter or a friend.

Easy dental care for dogs. It is 50/50 on of they will drink the water but I think it is always worth a shot to try. I brush their teeth, use dental bones, and this solution to keep their teeth and gums clean. Dental cleanings and care is pricey so it is always better to prevent if you can. Give it a try.

No smell and easy to use. My dog drank the water with the water additive without hesitation. So I’m assuming there was no taste.
I only used half the suggested amount as I wanted to make sure my dog would tolerate it.
HOWEVER, within a few hours of drinking the water with the additive, she threw up her entire breakfast.
So I immediately dumped the water either and additive, washed her bowl thoroughly and only have her filtered water.
Sir still threw up 3 more times in the span of 10 hours! So that’s a total of 4 hours.
My dog has never had a reaction to any water additives before so this was very alarming.
I took her to the ER and brought the bottle off the water additive with me to show the vet.
The vet told me it’s super common for these water additives to upset the dogs stomach lining and make them vomit and they told me to avoid water additives.
Thankfully by the next day my dog was fine but had to be on a bland diet for 3-4 days to be gentle as her stomach lining had gotten disrupted by this water additive. This item is not worth it for us.
Be careful!!!

Easy to use. No scent so my dogs do not even know that I put it in their water. It really has done wonders with their teeth being cleaner and with fresh breath. The best thing is that it doesn’t cause any upset tummies so no vomiting or diarrhea. Excellent product and great quality!!

Just what the doctor ordered!

Product Recommended by veterinarian office-Would try again, dog & cat don’t seem to mind the flavorless additive to their water for help with dental care. Good value!
K 8910 –
My dog likes it and it helps keep her breath fresher. It’s easy to use and a bottle lasts a long time. Our vet recommended it especially since my dog isn’t keen on getting her teeth brushed.
Amazon Customer –
It’s so easy to add to dog’s water bowl. I’ve only used it for 10 days so far, buy my dogs breath does seem improved. Hope it also works to eliminate plaque.
Now, as a follow up 3 wks.in, my dogs are developing stomach upsets when nothing else has changed in their day to day patterns.
Bri –
My water is hard even after filtering, and this additive reduces calcium deposit stains on stainless steel bowls. My dogs also seem to like the taste of the additive. I brush their teeth myself so I don’t rely on this product to solely keep their dental health in order, but I pick up a bottle from time to time to add to the fountain.
Nancy West –
My dog drinks her water just fine. Will be getting having a dental check soon to see how it works for her tarter and build up.

After spending hundreds of dollars 2 years ago to have my cat’s teeth cleaned by a veterinarian, we purchased this product and have great checkups by our vet ever since. It really works!
Cat –
My dog likes it in his water and I do think it helps keep his breath fresh.
Denny –
Promising product and my vet recommends it. My promary concern was whether my dogs would react to a taste difference in their water. Well, this was not a problem. Time will tell if this is truly effective in reducing tartar problems. I’m optimistic.
Nena –
One of our dogs are old with medical issues, and needs to go to a specialist in order to get his dental cleanings. This was recommended to us by that veterinarian. We use it for both of our dogs (old and young), and their breath got so, so much better. The plaque basically just falls off. They don’t detect it in their water either, which is great for picky eaters. It’s much easier than teeth brushing, which is a challenge with our dogs. Keep in mind that it does not replace annual dental cleanings.
