I got these seasoning salts because I love to add flavor and spice to my meals.
They rate 3 of these salts as spicy, the ghost pepper being the hottest as a 9/10 rating. I tasted all of them and the ghost pepper is spicy, so you won’t want to use too much on your meal, but it is not overbearing or something that will be too much. If you like spicy stuff, these salts are perfect.
My wife tried them as well and she is not a spicy food eater, but the Chile Habanero salt flavor which is rated an 8/10 in spiciness was OK for her. She said it was hot and drank her drink after, but wanted more because of the great taste.
I really love the tastes you get from these, its salty, but a super high quality taste with much more than just salt that covers your taste buds. I enjoyed this so far on meats, noodles, soups, and more. I used this while cooking as seasoning during the cooking process and even as kind of a rub even on some meats. I also used it as a topping once the meal is already cooked. It works in all ways that I tried as an enhancement to every meal.
The bottles are high quality glass, they easily grind the salt down evenly. Everything about this set feels like it was made with love and quality.
I love this set and will use it many times per week until it is gone and then order more.

If you liked TJ’s version of this South African Smoked seasoning you will love this brand. Even if TJ’s carries it again I will stick with this brand. Use it on eggs, salads, any foods you use spice or salt on.

Despite excellent packaging, one of the salts arrived broken, with glass shards, salt and pepper everywhere. I see that the same had happened to other reviewers as well, so I hope that the manufacturer/seller will take note and make necessary changes so that everything arrives intact. Amazon would allow customers to return grocery items, so you won’t be able to return or exchange these salts if yours arrive broken as well.
Other than the above, these salts are great! They are versatile: you can use them on meat, veggies or grains (great to season rice!), and with built-in grinders you know that the pepper would not lose it’s “zing” – freshly ground spices taste best. It’s a bit difficult to control how finely you can grind the blends, I find it a bit uneven, but that adds an artisanal touch I suppose. 🙂
