I like the size and texture of these. They have a linen like texture and aren’t glossy or slippery. The thickness reminds me of a standard deck of cards. Definitely not the thin paper kind. The colors are bold and bright. The book is as small as the deck but the print is not as tiny as I was expecting. Having never used or been around these, I think it’s a great set. The book outlined how to begin and it’s pretty easy to follow along. I think it’s a great value.

I believe these tarot cards are a bit smaller than the decks we think of from films but, I do like that the images are very much like what you expect. They aren’t just paper cards either. They remind me of the expensive decks of cards one might get to use for playing poker. The booklet that comes with the deck is informative of the basics which is about what a beginner would need. When I started out using tarot I got a book that explained things in depth and it was just too much. You really just want to keep it simple at first because all that information is too overwhelming. It’s important to get a feel for the cards before you start to get into the complicated stuff. Trust me on this one. I am extremely happy with this set and the booklet is pocket sized so you can carry it around with you to do simple readings. Super convenient.

If you know Tarot cards, then you know the Rider Waite Smith Tarot deck. These are a direct copy of that, and the booklet even lists it in the text. I disagree with the last review about them being smaller than standard. Most decks I have are much smaller than these cards are. This deck is on the larger side. The artwork is nice, but that’s probably because it’s not original. They just copied it and made a different backing for it. The printing is good, texture of the cards is nice too. There is no storage box or pouch which is unusual and the booklet is tiny. All in all these are decent to have but I don’t know that I would suggest getting them when you can literally get the original brand listed instead and support the original creators.

I got these for my 12 year old daughter. She is definitely a beginner. They come with a starter book to help with the meanings of their pickings. You could also google what they mean if you ask like yes or no questions because the beginner book did not actually have that information in there. She does a lot of past present and future readings with family ad friends. It is not for everyone. Some people have different beliefs but honestly its all on fun for us. Lay the deck on a flat surface have who ever you are reading mix up and spread out the cards, tell them to use their inner energy. Have them pick out 3 cards and flip them upright. Then the readings begin from there. Past, present and future. If the card is upside down or right side up when they flip it it has different meanings. Its fun! Shes only 12 and she loves using them.

This is a nice set of “old-school” style Tarot cards and the how to guide is one of the better ones I have come across. Great set for beginners or even those like myself who collect Tarot cards. Would make a great gift.

This has been a great tarot deck to use as a beginner. The artwork is really nice, and I feel like they’re the perfect size. I’m not really sure if tarot decks come in varying sizes as this is my first one. The included booklet has gotten a lot of use in learning to use my new deck. To me, it feels like the provided information is a jumping off point rather than an encyclopedia of knowledge. If there’s something that I want further clarification on or want to delve deeper into, I simply go online and use the info from the booklet as a starting point. Even though he likes to make fun of me, it’s been fun using my husband as a guinea pig to do readings with. As I’ve gotten more comfortable with the cards, I feel like a lot of the reading starts boiling down to intuition. There’s not really a right/wrong, textbook answer for most questions you’re asking. I’m really glad that I ordered these as I feel like this is something I can build and grow with and something I’ll continue to learn for the rest of my life.

As a complete beginner it’s hard for me to judge if this set is right for beginners because well – I’m a beginner and it’s the only set I’ve had so I have nothing to compare this set to.
I do like the book that came with the set, it’s handy, and even though it is a small book the print is easy to read – Not tiny type that makes you squint.
The size and feel of the deck are OK for me, I have small hands and I’m able to hold and shuffle/mix them well.
The artwork is nice, it isn’t my style and I look forward to advancing to a brighter, more lively art style but for now this set is working for me.
Overall satisfied with this set of Tarot Cards and am enjoying learning this interpretive medium.
