Excellent tea. Mild and enjoyable.

I have bought many teas from The Tao of Tea, from black to chai to herbal teas, and they are ALL DELICIOUS.
This Chinese black tea is an especially fine black tea. I have never had Qi Men before. I like it very much! You’ve done it again, The Tao of Tea! You’re my source for fine teas. I love the tins they come in, too. They are double sealed so the tea stays so fresh!

First , that’s a much bigger jar than I expected!!!! And full of tea!!!! For this price ?? Kudos.
Second. The flavor is very refined and high quality. You can just taste it !!! If you are a fan of peachy fruity aromas. You will love this tea!!!! It’s not as bitter as green tea. But also not very smooth. It’s in the middle. Kinda refreshing but not the grassy green tea refreshing. It’s deeper in flavor but not as deep and rich as puerh. Anyhow. I tasted it. Good tea. But I personally enjoy puerh more.

Great flavor and aroma!

First, the Tao of Tea is our absolute favorite band of loose tea. But this tea even beats out the other teas we have from this company (at least 8 other teas). I can’t get enough of it and it’s on our subscription so we don’t run out!

I absolutely love Keemun (Qimen) tea, and they make for a wonderful breakfast tea. However, this tea had nothing at all in common with any Keemun I have ever tasted. This tea was very weak and without flavor (to a pretty shocking degree). I love plain tea, but I also enjoy a bit of cream in breakfast teas sometimes. This tea couldn’t stand up by itself plain, let alone with cream. This brand is a decent brand overall, but this tea was a tremendous disappointment.

It is perfectly acceptable as a black tea, but it does not possess the distinctive malty, sweet notes of a true qimen. It tastes more of roses and lightly of tea than any other flavor, which is not what I look for in a qimen tea. The leaves are not whole (acceptable for what it is ofc), and you can get several small steeps from one 5-6 gram set of leaves.
I am not angry with it, but it is not the flavor I want in my qimen red teas.

The picture of the leaves on the label look like Qimen. The picture of the tea brewed on the label looks like Qimen. But when I brewed whatever tea leaves came in this, after a 5 minute steep with boiling water, it looked like white tea. This is NOT Qimen. It’s weak and flavorless and tastes more like a bad Ceylon or those awful teas in fancy packaging that get sold at places like TJ Maxx.

This tasted like dirt. I dont know what this is but its definitely not a high quality keemun. There is zero notes of roses. It tastes like store bought English breakfast that you have to drown in milk & sugar. There are no delicate or nuance to this flat tea, just brown dirt water. Dont get me wrong I am a devout fan of Tao of Tea… They are my number 1 tea source!! I LOVE them… I just didnt like this strain of tea…it tastes cheap for something called “grand”.
