This tea is delicious as is and lovely with a bit of honey. I rarely write reviews, but I’m sitting here drinking this tea right now and just thinking how it would be a crime for me not to leave one for this product. I have mono right now and absolutely nothing has brought relief to my throat, I’ve tried everything. Lozenges, cough drops, throat sprays, numbing products, gargling, humidifiers- etc. But it wasn’t until this tea that I found some genuine relief. My throat has felt like I’ve swallowed a box of razor blades all week, I haven’t even been able to swallow water comfortably let alone talk but with this tea I feel like at least for a little bit after, I have some relief.
I don’t know, maybe I’m rambling but I’m just thankful to have found something that works. This will forever be a staple for my sore throats now. Not only that, but actually I’m an herbal tea drinker anyway; I like drinking teas in general. And this is one of *the best* tasting teas I’ve ever tried. It is an interesting flavor, and smooth. I can taste the berry with hint of spice. Of course with tea like this, you need honey if you need a sweetener. I need to find a good pastry to go with it. I try to incorporate afternoon tea regularly. This tea is ongoing regarding the effectiveness but I have no doubt it will work. And the price was a bit cheaper than Whole Foods. It’s no miracle worker that’s for sure. But the fact is that it does provide relief depending on the severity of your throat infection. Day 1, it provided short term relief. It made the pain bearable for 2 to 3 hours. Day 2, it provided a little more relief for about 2 to 3 hours. At this point I started to mix the tea with honey to increase relief. After adding honey, it increased pain relief but still for only 2 to 3 hours. Day 3, it provided relief for about half the day before I had another cup again. Mind you, this is paired with cough drops, rest, and plenty of water. The taste is nothing spectacular, it tastes exactly what you think a herbal concoction would taste like. At the end of the day it did it’s job. Provided temporary relief in a efficient manner.
